  • Rosetta McClain Gardens | Scarborough | 2020
    --------------------------------------------------------------
The manicured 23-acre park is filled with rose gardens and a rock fountain surrounded by a pergola. The gardens have specially designed signage, raised planters, varied texture pathways and ramps to accommodate visitors of varied abilities.
It has a large view of Lake Ontario from the side of park Bluffs.
Thomas McDonald West once owned the park. He and his wife had divided their property among their four children, one of them being Rosetta.
Rosetta’s husband Robert Watson McClain and her brother Joseph McDonald’s landscaping efforts initially made the park what it is today.
Rosetta died in 1940 with her husband. They donated the space in 1959 to the City of Toronto in memory of his wife.
Today the park is used for wedding photographers due to its visually charming setting of gardens, water fountain, gazebo and ivy-covered trellises.
The park is also an ideal location for bird watchers, floraphiles and anyone looking to escape the city life for a quiet setting.
The garden is located at 5 Glen Everest Rd. (just on south side of Kingston Road - Scarborough).
