I’m an adult beginner (with a little bit of learning in my past). This is my second piece to learn and this performance is so inspiring. I can’t stop listening to it.
The apparently simplest of pieces can be the most difficult to play well. This is a beautiful, beautiful performance. Elegant, restrained, expressive, emotional but not sentimental. I listen to it most days. Brava! 👏

В данном случае Бах звучит романтично. В барочном стиле все совсем по-другому, качественно по-другому. Глен Гульд так исполняет, что по началу кажется, что и слушать невозможно. Тут он явно экспериментировал , и не поймёшь барокко ли это, классицизм ли это, романтизм ли это. Рихтер прав. Эта прелюдия неплохо звучит и под руками ребёнка , главное, чтобы верно попадал по клавишам и более-менее нормально интонировал. Музыка баха-универсальна в своей философской глубине. Можно играть и быстрее, и медленнее. И все равно прекрасно. 2:54
In part B of this preludium it sounds to me as if she played f - b natural - c in the second last measure of the first and the repeated run, so intentionally? The original score dictates g - b natural - c.
The g-b natural in measure 39 is found in most versions of the score. This gives a G major - C minor progression. But there are other versions with f-b natural instead so that we have a G7-C minor progression instead. Not sure which version Bach wrote, but the version with the V7-i progression is a better fit to this piece IMO.

I played this as a kid and heard it in the radio the other day and noticed that if played by a real master the opportunities are endless!
