Legend has it, following the closure of the Wild Mouse, every chiropractor in the country banded together to forever stall the removals of Grand National, Big Dipper and INfusion, for if those rides closed, every one of them would be out of a job.
I guess the most iconic lost UK coaster must be The Belle Vue Bobs in Manchester built by Church and Traver. It was demolished in 1971 so I never saw it, but growing up in Blackpool and my parents (and grandparents parents) always talked about it. “The Blackpool Big Dipper is great but you couldn’t beat the Bobs in Manchester!” 😊
I loved The Ultimate! The second half was absolutely bonkers. After they demolished that, and got rid of the indoor dinosaur coaster, there wasnt really any point going to Lightwater Valley any more. Shame, The Ultimate was great fun.
Great video as always mate 😊👍. It’s a shame how BPB got rid of the Wild Mouse without warning, I’m sure everyone would have loved an event like they did with the Grand Prix. And I can’t believe Kingda Ka is going but I kind of understand why it is 😔. Which ones of these did you get to ride mate ? Also a ride I never did but looked awesome is the corkscrew at Alton and the black hole 😁👍
For me, wild mouse at BPB and the ultimate at lightwater valley are the two I miss the most. Both coasters deserved so much better, should have been listed. Broke my heart seeing them pull the ultimate down like it was lego 😟😟
I miss Tower of Terror at Camelot, compact but a lot of thrills from how close the ride hugged the castle theming elements and including the hidden vertical loop, you felt like you were going to hit the walls. Probably why Nemesis was my second favourite with the section where your your feet almost hit the cliff edge.
Miss the ultimate! Great teenage memories spent at lightwater valley. I went to pleasure beach 20-25 years ago when the wild mouse was there but can’t remember at all riding it. Wished I had now!
There is one ride you didn't mention, Tower of Terror (Camelot) it has sadly gone (from the UK) but is still in operation at Dalmaland in Croatia, which is good to see.
Agree with BPB removing wild mouse with no announcement a big mistake , as for the ride itself if it was still here it would very much a take it or leave it for me Also big fan of the channel 👍
100%. But I’m sure it brings in millions in sales from people wanting to ride the world’s tallest. Although that won’t be true once Falcons Flight opens.
Really sad to see especially to a British enthusiast like myself. Ever since I got the thoosie' bug I would spend countless hours watching videos about these rides, POV's etc and TTD and Kingda Ka were both right up there on my bucket list. I really wanted to go on those huge, fast xcelerator ones so was gutted when TTD was changed after the accident so I know I'll ever actually get to ride it and then the news with Ka is likely going to be the same, it sucks. I really love launched coasters hydraulic launched rides days are numbered. The closest thing now for me is probably red force, it has the height and speed albeit with an LSM launch and they're just not as intense for me than a hydraulic launces which are punchy and intense. Another ride that falls into the same group for me (bucket list coasters I never got chance to ride) Is another launch coaster in DoDo Donpa.
Been on most of them, never got to ride Son of Beast with the loop, Guessing Cedar Point get the tallest coaster back if they get Top Thrill 2 going lol
hey chris - remembering steel phantom known for causing brain trauma, which was remodeled without the inversions as phantoms revenge. also big bad wolf looks like the original vampire at chessington with swinging cars, even the supports looks the same - which came first ? the vampire is still there so that must be 40+ years old now?
@@coaster_dad If that coaster isnt a record breaking coaster, (i dont mean silly records like first coaster do do an inversion at 20mph or something like that) it needs to be a big record like speed or height or the coaster has to be really good for people to want to go there. 2025 will be quieter for the park i think.
I find the whole situation bizarre. There are some people adamant it’s going and others convinced it’s not. What’s weird is the silence from the park 🙈
Might be some safety reason. So if they explain the reason, they'd incriminate themselves. When it should have been closed a while ago. Might of been a discovery made by zamperla with tt2 that also should've been addressed with ka
I remember the Duelling Dragons, cannot believe they didn’t get a buyer as they were amazing. The Ultimate was another sad one, no point of Lightwater now, might as well shut down. Gwazi was my favourite ride at Busch Gardens but I haven’t been since 2003 and people said it got really bad. I cannot stand Florida anymore as I’ve always hated Disney, but it’s even worse with all the new IPs replacing the classics. However Universal uses to be amazing and they got rid of all the best rides and replaced them with boring screen based crap. So Florida has nothing for me anymore and it’s not worth going for Busch Gardens alone.
Yeah that’s where I got it. It’s easy to do that part. But it can be expensive if you have to order parts from overseas. I’m sure I paid about £100-£120 for parts including all the shipping costs 🙈
Why would you get rid of your best coaster? The only reason people go there is for that monster. People act as if hydraulic launches have all of a sudden become dangerous :S No it has been operating just fine, there is nothing dangerous about it as long as maintenance is done, but that’s true of any coaster. I just reckon the forces are so high and the cost to retrack is too great, they switch to LSM for greater longevity.
Hi, I've noticed something odd lately where UA-cam is unsubscribing me from channels, yours being one of them and I've only noticed now after watching the video having clicked from the home feed not my subscription feed. Just a heads up if you're seeing any random drops in subscriber numbers. Re-subscribed of course! Silly youtube 🤦🏻♂

😂😂 that sounds about right
Duelling dragons. When they were launched side by side.
Goosebumps.
Pre Harry Potter Universal was a vibe.

Aye not really a park for me anymore 😔
Wow! So sad to see these iconic coasters gone forever! Great to watch another UA-cam video by you Coaster Dad 😊
It is always sad when a ride leaves. You always hope they are replaced with a worthy successor!

I only did the Wild Mouse and dragons challenge
@ How good was Dragon’s challenge mate? It looked awesome 😊😁
@@benspeed2819 I did it back in 2008 so I honestly can't remember 😂
@ Oh okay mate that’s fair 😂👍. I bet you enjoyed it tho 😂👍😁. Looks like it was a cracking ride, I think it’s had an upgrade with Hagrids tho 😊
Wild Mouse is still mourned by so many. Huge loss to the Pleasure Beach.
Aye
Wow! It is so sad to see that these iconic coasters are gone forever! What another awesome UA-cam video by you Coaster Dad 😊
Thank you. I get that things need to come out to make space for new rides but still sad.

Wild Mouse at Blackpool broke me, I haven’t been back since.
It was proper mental 🤕

I’ve got a history series about Camelot coming out this weekend. Hopefully it’ll bring back some memories 😀
Miss the ultimate! Great teenage memories spent at lightwater valley. I went to pleasure beach 20-25 years ago when the wild mouse was there but can’t remember at all riding it. Wished I had now!
😔
Corckscrew and Black Hole at AT come to mind!
Absolutely. I could have listed many many more coasters. 😀
There is one ride you didn't mention, Tower of Terror (Camelot) it has sadly gone (from the UK) but is still in operation at Dalmaland in Croatia, which is good to see.
Indeed. I’ll be discussing that one in the Camelot series out this weekend 😀
I can see a black mirror style future were British enthusiasts mock the USA with our last standing accelerator - the all mighty RITA.
😂😂 oh Jesus 🙈
Amazing video as always
Thank you 🙏
Great Video mate 😊.
Thank you

If they did close kingda ka. At least dont demolish the whole tower since it’s such a work of art!
Confirmed today by the park it’s being removed along with quite a few other attractions to make way for a new record breaking ride in 2026 😔
dragon challenge was great, but the ride they replaced it with, hagird's motorbike coaster, is sooo much faster and more fun!
Yeah both are great coasters 😀
Kingda Ka apparently costs a million dollars per year to operate. It is likely if it closes for good, then it's because of that.
100%. But I’m sure it brings in millions in sales from people wanting to ride the world’s tallest. Although that won’t be true once Falcons Flight opens.

Yup I feel your pain 😔

Ha ha. Until Flacons Flight opens 😉

Good question. I had heard vampire used to have those trains. They look weird 😂
Like sitting in a hanging basket 😉
i think when kingda ka closes not many people will visit that park anymore, it was the ride that got people going there
Yeah whatever replaces it needs to be special. And that’s not until 2026. So next year will be interesting.

@JaxlikesCoasters yeah. I doubt it’ll take those records given falcons flight over in Quiddya. But we can hope 🤞
What about vortex at kings island or volcano at kings dominion
There are so many I could add to this list 😀
If KA doesn’t close for good today I never want to hear an enthusiast say anything again about their predictions
I find the whole situation bizarre. There are some people adamant it’s going and others convinced it’s not. What’s weird is the silence from the park 🙈
@@coaster_dadI couldn’t care less, if it stays open, cool, if not, I still have stealth and red force. Same shit, different height.

bp wild mouse - i remember that! , had to be shoe-horned into the cars and then they provided crutches at the exit. did you ever do the ultimate btw?
Sadly I did not. I’ve only been to light water twice when the kids were wee so didn’t do it 😔
I remember the Duelling Dragons, cannot believe they didn’t get a buyer as they were amazing. The Ultimate was another sad one, no point of Lightwater now, might as well shut down. Yeah dragons is one of the only (if not THE only) B&M ever removed.
Great vid, I wonder who is next to leave the UK?
Good question!
I saw the Lego hyperia train did you get it off Etsy? I wanna get it but the whole pasting the instructions into bricklink looks really confusing
Yeah that’s where I got it. It’s easy to do that part. But it can be expensive if you have to order parts from overseas. I’m sure I paid about £100-£120 for parts including all the shipping costs 🙈
@ I’m here in the states so would it be cheaper cause I’m pretty sure bricklink is in the US
@MrsLatour it is but it connects you with retailers who sell the pieces. I got some from the US, some from the UK and some from Europe 🙈

Sounds like since the merger they are being brutal about anything that they are sinking money in to to maintain.
@@coaster_dad I knew Six Flsg would ruin Cedar Point

Hey. Hope you have a great day. Hoping for something exciting at fireworks tonight 😀
I miss g force at Drayton manor
I never got to experience that one 😔
Wouldn’t really class knightmare as iconic
Ha ha. I mean it’s well known…. Probs for the wrong reasons 😂
Ka isn't closing. All the UA-camrs are just trying to get more views. They're desperate for their five minutes of fame.
I hope not. I’m over there in the summer next year and I’ve not been on it 🤞
Em, this didn't age well 🙈 In all honesty for the park to deny it up til the last minute when they clearly knew it was going is just shocking!
