Wow! This is the LOUDEST I've ever heard Ma Long scream after winning a match in a while, and it was JOO SE HYUK who made him do it!!! Outstanding Match! :D

That is some of the most incredible table tennis I have ever seen. You can hear both players putting all their strength and skill into their shots.

@Tubeistdan I totally agree with you. Joo has found another youth and has upgraded his technique. Even when you're 32, you still can improve in this sport (although Joo has confessed he isn't training at full throttle anymore since he has to raise his kid now :))

Amazing game from both players. I hope Joo Se Hyuk to win a final like this someday. He is a great philosophical example because he opted for a different type of game, different from the majority, he had the courage to try.

Joo and Ma Long were stupendous! I was rooting for Joo, he was really amazing and applied many spin variations to the ball, thus Ma Long did have some hard time to handle them. Brillant game! And I'm not fed up to thank Geca for his endless efforts to share table tennis. I hope he will keep on this fast pace to upload pro-tour matches. Nonetheless, Geca, try not to die of exhaustion!^^

yeah but cornerer ya gotta admit long makes it so tough for even tacticians like jsh to find those aggressive openings. watch long's soft returns after return of top-spin - he offer far fewer opportunities for aggressive responses - his returns are very short and low more than most. it's a real pleasure to watch'em go at it either way - the pros make it look so easy :-)

I agree with you. Ma Long had really hard challenges along the way in this tourney. He beat Chen Qi (QF), Xu Xin (SF) and Joo Se-Hyuk in 7 sets. He is really worthy of the title.
But on the other side, Joo Se-Hyuk is in his top form right now. Last year he was beaten by Ma Long and Zhang Jike 4-0. In this tournament, he beat Zhang Jike 4-0 in QF, and leading 3-2 before Ma Long catch up 3-3, and then win 4-3.
I tip my hat for Korean defender. Wish he won the tourney.

Joo improved so much. He readjusted his ratio of attacking and defending to more attacking; surprising Ma Long. But Ma Long powerful and fights to the end

Ma Long has definitely played better (in fact, he did play at his best not that long ago). Joo Se Hyuuk on the other hand was on fire today. I think Ma Long was really scared there. That he still managed to win is thanks to an incredible tough mentality. Now his ranking will maybe hit 3000?

  • @brandonhong940

Is it me, or are the final scores from each set almost always (except for the final set) ends up to be 11-4 or 11-7? Look at the final scores at 9:53. Thumbs up if you agree.

  • @byjeffbjk

Look at Ma Long carefully when Joo does spin, Ma long always couldn't decide where the ball goes, Joo See Hyuk doing his spin so and so tricky that Ma Long is so doubtful.

Joo was playing incredibly, but don't forget that the last 2 previous matches of Ma Long were against Chen Qi, 4-3, and Xu Xin, 4-3. So he must have been very tired to exterminate Joo se Huyk as usually

  • @TheTTstudio
    @TheTTstudio 12 років тому

If Ma Long is qualified for the olympic (i'm not sure if he is) and if he is to win it, then he has to improve his tactical game. I mean at this stage, Ma Long rely on his consistency too much and does not have his own style. And as he said that one of his weaknesses is mentality, it means he can lost consistency so easily.
    So yeah, Fighting Ma Long!

daaang man, I guess ZJK losing to Joo wasn't just bad play by ZJK. I haven't really seen Joo give Ma Long this much trouble in a long time, if ever. I can't tell if its Joo who is really just playing at a new higher level, or the Chinese players have been slacking on their practice against playing defensive players lately. Either way, great game

Joo is real deal man. Its been a long time that defender was so close to attacker. Come on Joo!
I think Ma Long is not so good at playing close to table; but far from table, top-spin counter, no one can beat Ma Long.

This game showed that playing defense is not as desirable as attacking, even the defense was well done ! I would meditate more this time, after not playing ping pong since 1955. If I started again, I will train myself to attack , not to defense ! It is more fun to control, rather than reacting. A first born person, a domineering person should play out his fantasy--- to control ! Not to react ! George Wu, AIA 2012-1-21
