Compared to that, a human looking robot with a purple widows peak, shirtless, green pants and elf ears isn’t that ridiculous.
Amazo was the one I instantly thought of when the Vid began. He had to make the list. 👊👊✊✊👏👏👌👌 Vandal Savage is always a Top Tier pick for a wide variety of reasons.
For me, even though it's not just one villain, it has to be the Legion of Doom, and it has to be led by Lex Luthor with Black Manta and Proffesor Zoom also present. It is the perfect antithesis to the Justice League and an equal match in every aspect without being overpowered or godlike.
I want to see a scene where Brainiac tries to appeal to Superman's good nature, maybe even trying to start a negotiation with him, but Supes just shoves him to the side like "Bitch, you blew up my planet. I'm gonna kill your ass." I think if you want to do a story where Superman is pushed to actually kill someone, Brainiac is the best option. There is no reasoning with Brainiac, until he continues to exist, he will always choose evil and conquest over and over again. And if anyone has a claim on him, it's Superman. Plus, he's just an AI, so you can kind of take the cowardly exit if you regret writing it. Oh, and imagine if Brainiac comes back, the sheer desperation in Superman's eyes as he realizes he broke one of his most fundamental morals for nothing. Bone-chilling.

However, another good villain for the best Justice League enemies should be Despero. He can be savage in many stories!
Vandal Savage was awesome in Young Justice. The writing for his script had some really well-written dialogue. I wish that show held up and kept going. 😮💨
Almost none of the villains you discussed seemed to be Justice League villains, just villains from other series who happened to have fought the Justice League in cartoons. Superman has fought Hector Hammond, but I'd still consider him a Green Lantern villain. If I had to pick one Justice League villain as my favorite, it would probably be Thomas Oscar Morrow, a scientist who uses his time machine to steal weapons from the future to use in present-day crimes. Also the creator of the Red Tornado.
I agree that Superman and Brainiac having that personal connection makes their dynamic so much better. A good way to reconcile his origins is having him start off as a malicious program/AI from Colu that somehow makes it's way to Krypton and takes over and poses as the Kryptonian central AI
Scrolling through the comments, i'm disappointed that nobody's brought up any female villains. While there hasn't been as many key Justice League moments revolving around a villainess, I think they're still worthy of mention. Circe is one huge standout, and is one of DC's best villains period. She's a literal goddess who triggered a war among the Gods just cause she felt petty, and that is so much fun!! Hopefully her role in Creature Commandos will do her justice. Another good mention is the Queen Bee. I'd consider both Zazzala and the Bialyan Dictator, who both serve as fun villains in their own right. Zazzala's your typical alien conquerer with a fun bee aesthetic and a more subtle form of mind control compared to a villain like Starro. Meanwhile, Queen Bee II provides the interesting challenge of political issues such as diplomatic immunity. I'd also give some honourable mentions to Morgaine Le Fay and Gamemnae, two very cool magic villains who definitely deserve more spotlight in future stories.
I love Vandal Savage. Despite getting his flowers he's satill under represented as a JLA Villain. With Video Games and other Media with JLA they always go big and that means galactic or multiversal, while you could easily get an big epic tale with Vandal, which is mostly earth centered, but doesn't need to be. But it's more often than not Darkseid, Brainiac or Crime Syndicate. I love how calculated Vandal Savage is. And it's not because he's supersmart (although he is), it's because of experience. And that trope of the wise ancient one being twisted is really cool.
Ever since I seen Amazo in JLU I always wanted his arc to end with him joining the Justice League and make him really philosophical like silver surfer or Dr Manhattan
I agree. I feel like people dont realise how much of a *GREAT* rogues gallery the Justice League have other than Darkseid, even if Darkseid can be portrayed as a great villain against them. For example, the *Legion of Doom* is one of my favourite villain teams in comics as they have a perfect dichotomy of villains that counter the main roster of the Justice League with a villain from their rogue's gallery that juxtaposes them, for example, the Legion of Doom usually has Lex Luthor as the leader of the team with members like Cheetah, Joker, Riddler, Scarecrow, Bane, Sinestro, Captain Cold, Gorilla Grodd, Toyman, Giganta, Black Manta and so many more members that rival the Justice League in exciting ways and act as a unified, coordinated team of villains with a common agenda to kill the Justice League. Another underrated villain they barely use is Despero, who was originally a Justice League villain. However, the character has become more independent and not as frequently used and even reimagined a lot to be a gladiator, a cult leader or a psychic space demon. However, I think there's potential to make him a good villain for the JL if done well, as he has a very cool design with his red/purple skin and psychic third eye. BTW, I do think Brainiac can work as a Justice League threat, despite being a Superman villain first and foremost, similar to how Loki is obviously Thor's archenemy, but he can still work as a major threat to the Avengers. However, I do think Brainiac is more interesting and menacing solely as a Superman villain since they have more in common and have a stronger rivalry given how much they have in common as the last survivors of their races and in some continuities like in My Adventures of Superman or the DCAU, Brainiac has ties to Krypton as its former AI service, so that adds a lot more personal connection to Brainiac and Superman's rivalry
Just a question: Why having Brainiac as a JLA's villain when Starro covers the same spot but better? What i mean is that i agree with the title of this video, in the sense that Darkseid isn't the only good JLA villain but then in the video we got Mongul or Brainiac that are Superman's villains. Now i can accept Vandal Savage even if he's technically a JSA's villain (after all he started as an Alan Scott's villain) but Mongul and Brainiac? Why having Mongul as a JLA's villain when you have Darkseid? They literally cover the same spot as the "big and cunning evil alien dictator that controls a good portion of the galaxy" and they even have a very similar look. The difference is that (beside the omega beams) Mongul works as a Superman villain while Darkseid as a JLA's one. Mongul feels deep hatred for Superman and his best stories are all with Clark while Darkseid has always been depicted (and rightfully so) as the biggest menace in the galaxy, the extreme evil that only the best heroes that DC universe has can vanquish. I apply the same logic for Starro and Brainiac. From a writer's perspective how would you use Brainiac against the JLA? As pointed out even in the video he's usually used for world conquering plots and mind control plots which are exactly the ones that Starro is used for. Moreover while Brainiac was forced mostly in recent years as a mind control villain that was one of Starro's key and first abilities ever shown. There are so many more actual JLA's villains that nowadays aren't even mentioned like Despero, Doctor Destiny or the Lord of Time and get continuosly sidelined in favor of Darkseid or a Superman rogue
what you fail to realize is that Darkseid has ALWAYS been a Superman villian. so idk what your point is. it wasn't till the new 52 (2011) that they've been shifting him towards the JL route but he still tangles with Superman. is the Absolute universe not a perfect example of Darkseid energy challenging Supermans energy that runs DC?
@@cactusblack5993i don't really care since he works for better as a justice league/new gods villain and as the commentor stated supes already has mongul as an evil conqueror with an actual connection to him
@@cactusblack5993 Can i ask you why you say that Darkseid was always intended as a Superman villain? Cause if your reason is that his first appearance was in "Superman's pal Jimmy Olsen" then you simply didn't read it or you don't know anything about Jack Kirby's Fourth World. When Jack Kirby left Marvel and went to DC the people at DC proposed him a contract: we'll give you the possibility to work on 3 different series and you'll have complete creative control over them (these 3 series will become "The Forever People", "Mister Miracle" and "New Gods") BUT FIRST you'll have to work for a while on the series with the least amount of sold copies (which at the time was "Superman's pal Jimmy Olsen"). Jack Kirby accepted the contract and he used his contractual obligation to work on "Superman's pal Jimmy Olsen" to start his Fourth World project. So literally the only reason why Darkseid appeared in a Superman related book was due to the fact that he was obligated to do so cause it was the title with the lowest sales. If i want to be pedantic i would say that Darkseid should be a New Gods villain cause that's what Jack Kirby intended for the character but DC isn't able to mantain a JLA book so it's utter fantasy to hope in a New Gods regular title
The villains on this list are not underrated, they are most recognizable villains ever. No disrespect, but you lads need to step up your game. You could’ve use *Fernus, The Burning Martians* That is an underrated villain, and he is Martian Manhunter’s other persona. There is Felix Faust. That guy is underrated. He is villain of both Original JL and JL Dark. There is Queen Bee. Major Disaster. There is Rama Khan. The comic version is superior than CW’s Supergirl. He need be use in the comic more. What is a stands on Justice League villain turns into one hero’s villain. Like is Maxwell Lord and Queen of Fables, are they justice League Villains or they are Wonder Women Villains? Same with Manhunters cyborgs, they are depicted as villains to Green Lanterns even though Manhunters fought Justice League.
A lesser known villain that it's also very good for the JL is Eclipso. He's crazy powerful, has magic and can control minds, It would be awesome for a movie.
Would love to see a live action movie with Braniac. Such an intimidating villain, and probably my favourite Superman villain along with Zod. Also, live action Mxyzptlk, anyone? 😂
Doomsday is strong enough to not just be a Superman villain, but a Justice League villain too. Also off-topic discussion question: Thanos cannot beat Darkseid in a fight, but Apocalypse (X-Men villain) could.
The Alan Moore story is in Superman Annual #11. It's called For The Man Who Has Everything. It was adapted into a Justice League episode (I'm pretty sure.).
I have a confession to make: I don't like Darkseid. At all. Not even a little bit. I never have. He's just so...boring and so...one note. I don't even think his design is visually interesting. All of that begs the question, "Why has he been shoehorned into darned near every Justice League story for past who knows how long?!" I'd definitely be up for seeing some other villains like the ones you cite in this video. Amazo has always been a credible threat, as has the Crime Syndicate. The Key and The Queen of Fables haven't made an appearance in awhile, either. Personally, I've always considered the JSA's greatest threat/foe to be Despero the Conquerer/Destroyer--particularly as his character was written and drawn in the late 1980s/early 1990s. He seemed to be the initial prototype for the Darkseid variety of villain, but I always thought he was done better than Darkseid ever was. (Oh, and of course, one should completely ignore his abominably bad characterization in the Arrowverse's Flash series. They presented the character as less than even a pale shadow of who he has always been in the comic books.)
Before I watch the rest of this as a fan of young justice and other cartoon vandal savage has almost been my favorite big bad follower behind the legion of doom in general I really like it when the villains team up but specially when they actually just created their own justice league of evil just to specifically counter the JL and spite them lol 😊

Ever since I seen Amazo in JLU I always wanted his arc to end with him joining the Justice League and make him really philosophical like silver surfer or Dr Manhattan
Mongul mentioned!!!
@@cactusblack5993i don't really care since he works for better as a justice league/new gods villain and as the commentor stated supes already has mongul as an evil conqueror with an actual connection to him
@@cactusblack5993 I always think of him as a Mister Miracle/New Gods villain
@abiodunsulaiman2297 YOU may not care but history says other wise. Darkseid is... (no pun intended) a Superman villian.
There is
Felix Faust.
Si curioso que los villanos de Superman se convierten en villanos de la liga de la justicia y los villanos de la liga en villanos de wonder woman
Extra brownie points for mentioning DC Universe Online
Little reminder that Amazo in the Arrowverse was a boat. A. Fucking. Boat.
A lesser known villain that it's also very good for the JL is Eclipso. He's crazy powerful, has magic and can control minds, It would be awesome for a movie.
I would love to see your top 5 or top 10 DC villains of all time I have favorites to both in DC and Marvel
Heh, yeah that would be cool!
Would love to see a live action movie with Braniac. Such an intimidating villain, and probably my favourite Superman villain along with Zod.
Also, live action Mxyzptlk, anyone? 😂
I think it'd be great if u guys did some game pitch videos
Great idea! We actually did do an Arkham Origins sequel pitch about a year ago, feel free to check it out & let us know your thoughts :)
@comiclads I will if I haven't alrdy, lookin forward to u guys doing more of those🤙🏾🎇
An honourable mention HAS to be The Batman Who Laughs, seeing him as a Justice league villain was unlike anything else.
Nah, he was far too overrated and was too saturated in the DC landscape.
@@maelstrawm1678 the batman who tries too hard
Give it a few years maybe. He was cool as the Metal villain, but definitely became oversaturated afterwards
Doomsday is strong enough to not just be a Superman villain, but a Justice League villain too.
Also off-topic discussion question: Thanos cannot beat Darkseid in a fight, but Apocalypse (X-Men villain) could.
Darkseid annihilates Apocalypse
Apocalypse nisiquiera puede con mongul
The Alan Moore story is in Superman Annual #11. It's called For The Man Who Has Everything. It was adapted into a Justice League episode (I'm pretty sure.).
Ojalá en DC hicieran una gran historia con mongul como villano principal
El es más un villano de Superman y esta muerto.
@mayotango1317 actualmente está muerto?
@williamdaviddiazcuchimaque7511 Desde hace años. Su hijo Mongul II tomó el mando del mundo guerra.
Good vibes dope video 👍
Before I watch the rest of this as a fan of young justice and other cartoon vandal savage has almost been my favorite big bad follower behind the legion of doom in general I really like it when the villains team up but specially when they actually just created their own justice league of evil just to specifically counter the JL and spite them lol 😊
I would love an Amazo/Red Tornado story done in live action like the Tornado’s Path
There's one character you guys missed Amanda Waller she can be behind anything can get anyone to do anything and you never can really catch her she just kind of continues coming after you
Desperos pretty epic i must say
I'd love to see a top 10 DC villains, and a top 10 Marvel villains as well.
if I dont see brainiac in James Gunn's DCU i might actually crash out
geoff johns tried to make dr light a threat
Only one detective and smart everything you know will the best detective of all time is a ninja must bet
Oh you should check out the Vandel Savage in the Legion of Superheroes and Star Trek crossover.
I just want a team vs villain team movie. Pls give us legion of doom or that super huge lineup from the 2000s comics
The Crime Syndicate with Henry Cavill Ultraman, Gal Gadot Superwoman, and Ben Affleck Owl Man would be dope.
maybe not gal gadot, but i definitely think ben affleck deserves another chance to play some batman-like character. he would make a wonderful owlman.
How dare you not put the legion of doom one of my favorite JL rivals of all time.
9:27 my hot take is that i actually really like parallax looking like a nebula its like something youd have to beware of if you are a space traveler, you might be driving into your death
