    Guys great review!! Going from a 2003 ply wood burton to this! I’m a size 12 220lb so I’m confident now this should be perfect! Can’t wait to shred it and pop it’s cherry in a day!

    You mentioned something about lib tech or mervin bases not being to fast or good. is that a structure thing, being not sintered or something else? and wondering what companies tend to have better bases?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  6 місяців тому

      Yeah they are on the slower side. They don't keep wax well and aren't as fast when they are well waxed. On the site I rate boards by base glide. We'll have a filter up for that soon as well but look at Gentemstick, Moss, High End Jones, Korua Plus Models, Cardiff, Stranda, High End Capita, Never Summer, High End Nidecker, Weston and High End Salomon.

      @@thegoodridesnow Even their sintered bases on higher end boards? Just curious. I'll check your sit eout.

      Yeah almost all are slow now. Only one I recently tried thats fast is the Niseko Pleasures

    Hey guys! I know it’s not related to this video but Between the Shadowban and Mountain Twin would you rather Geek & Tweak or Work & Twerk to? for an All mountain Freestyle purposes! 😊

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Рік тому +1

      Both are great boards and favorites on thegoodride.com. Jones Mtn Twin has a faster base and better grip. Shadowban has more directional float/set back on board for easier float in pow when set all the way back.

    • @navg1409
      @navg1409 Рік тому

      @@thegoodridesnow awesome, thanks for reply! Which one would you consider a smoother carver? I’ve been hearing the Shadowban has a more pleasant turning experience than most all Mtn/freestyle boards.

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Рік тому

      Both are great all mountain boards and both carve well. I would say the Shadowban is more smooth where the Jones is a little more poppy.

    How would you compare it to the BRD or the Lib Rig?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Рік тому

      Rasman is a mid/wide where the BRD and Lib Rig come in reg and mid/wide and it's got rocker between the feet and a much more loose feel underfoot. . BRD and Lib Rig have a massively different camber profile. The BRD is camber with a early rise before the nose/tail. It also has a very slashy turny back seat ride. The Lib Rig has a similar camber but less taper and feels less back footed/turny.

    I'm in a great position as I haven't bought a snowboard/boots/bindings since 1999. So ANY board, boots, bindings I get will be 24-25 years newer tech. How could I go wrong? Did you guys say that this model has a sintered base? Thanks.

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  6 місяців тому +1

      Well you could still get the wrong size, wrong shape and wrong camber profile for your riding preferences. Base is sintered but slow compared to most others in this price range. If you want to get a good board this time around hit me up here as I need a lot about you to help properly. We don't just hold a board up to your chin and say looks good anymore ;-) shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/

      @@thegoodridesnow Thank you for the info. I wonder how many different grades of sintered bases that the industry uses. What is considered the fastest type of base today?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  6 місяців тому

      Each factory makes a few of their own bases but some factories get bases from the same place so there are different types but it's not as diverse as you would think. Mervin (Lib Tech/Gnu) makes their own. There isn't one that's the "fastest" but there are some and we rate the Base Glide on thegoodride.com. You can filter by the fastest.

    You say it's your favorite of the boards you tried that fit you. Did you also have the chance to ride the Dynamo? You like this board over that one?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  11 місяців тому

      Davey did get on the Dynamo the following year and liked it but these are two very different boards. He likes the Dynamo for carving and getting air and the Rasman for powder and when he's down for a more forgiving ride.

      @yrguitar1 11 місяців тому +1

      @thegoodridesnow it seems like Rasman may be the best one board quiver of the two. It seems slightly more forgiving, still carves well on ice, and seems a little more versatile. Thanks for your help!!

    ..... What?
    Lib tech themselves claim this is way more stiff than t.rice pro and you can even see it in the construction. The Rasman is incredible thick and burly and its for huge lines. The t.rice pro is you all mountain freestyle average flex board.

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Рік тому +1

      So did you ride it like we did? Not sure where you get your info from. Look at the Lib Tech site. It's a 6 out of 10 flex...not stiff. It's basically a mountain freestyle board in a slightly tapered directional shape. T.Rice Pro is actually stiffer at a 7 out of 10.
