Taco Bell used to be so delicious. It's just a shame how all the fast food restaurants have degraded the quality of their offerings. Used to be fattening and good taste and now it's just fattening and expensive. Thanks for the look back. :-)
Taco Bell is still ridiculously dirt cheap, it just used to be ludicrously cheap. With $20 you could live for like a week off their menu. It's only expensive compared to cooking your own meal. Compare it to most other places you can get hot food at.
In México a mexican pizza is a regular pizza (bread, tomatoe souce and mozzarella cheese) whit longaniza, mushrooms, rajas and beans. Why USamericans don't respect the mexican food?
Taco Bell is a joke, nobody goes there for authentic Mexican food. Thats like going to Sbarro for Italian food. When I crave tacos, I go to a local place that makes them with just cilantro, onion, cucumber and radish. Also the only gringo there is me!
back in the era when Taco Bell used to be really good, sadly it started to go downhill sometime around the early 2000s, I used to go to Taco Bell all the time back in the late 1990s/early 2000s and their food was delicious yet inexpensive, now it's the total opposite.
Yeah 60/70s... it had already changed in then80s but was still good. Mid 90s... :/. Now I’m all about Del Taco. It’s like original Taco Bell! (with crinkles fries...)
i wish my pizza looked like that when i got it home. They usually pile my burritos & tacos on top of it & the damn cheese is always sticking to the top of the box
I remember when they put olives on the pizza and cut it into fours for you neatly. Now they just throw the ingredients together and shove it in the steamer and man-handle it into the bag and throw it out the drive-thru window at you. Smh! When I open the box, the pizza is all sloppy and lop-sided, cheese melted onto the damn box.
Maybe you wouldn't expect a woman in a red dress eating by herself at an ordinary fast food place, but at Taco Bell, you would. But she would be wearing shoulderpads.
If you aren't over 25, chances are you have never had a real Mexican pizza from the bell. Like previous comments said, no olive, no onion, not cut, annnd the fricken cheese is different. Old Taco bell use to use very fine shredded/better cheese. It was the bomb on taco's.
I went to Taco bell in Spain. It was great. Even my mother who didn't like fast food, liked it so much, that she even purchase another menu . I am Bulgarian and here we don't have Taco bell. All we have is Mc donalds which have only 3 or 4 working locations per city. Except if you don't live in Sofia. There they have quite a lot of this. KFC, a lot of Subways , Chicken King which is the best of them all, but there are only two locations in my city, and at last Husburger .
This used to be my favorite item at TB. A few months before they discontinued it I kept getting stale tortillas at every TB I went to. I guess it stopped selling well because of the price. IIRC it was around $4-5 in 2020 for the Mexican pizza. In the end it really amounted to about the same thing as two taco.....
Taco Bell started to go downhill with the changing of the menu .Specifically the introduction of the Chalupa ,then Doritos shell and so on . I liked them when it was basic - tacos , burritos ,Enchurito ,Bell Beefer
@22centman36 we have 1 or 2 pizza huts already and its a very small town (less than 4 miles long and 2 miles wide) and the taco bell has been closed for almost a year now and there's never anyone there working on it, and our kFC closed a few months ago too. We have 2 burger king and 1 mcdonalds and 2 subway and 1 or 2 dominoes and a papa johns pizza and a quizznos. oh and a checkers (like a rallys)
@chocolateman85006 Taco Bell once had... food? Is this the truth? Coming from the future, where all restaurants are Taco Bell, I am sad to say they changed their business model some time in 2045. Since then they've been selling empty paper bags with text on the side, describing the sort of food items you COULD put in them had the Earth not been ravaged by nuclear war, destroying all the arable land. Thank goodness the UA-cam servers survived, so we may look back on a simpler, better time.
@athompson7 it's a checkers with a different name (rally's/checkers same company) fast food hamburger place usually speciallizing in drive-thru with 2 drive through lanes (1 on each side of the building) and a take-out window in the front and usually no inside seating. They do hamburgers fries chili chiliburgers chilifries hotdog chicken hotwings fish sandwich milkshakes (including banana milkshake) beef taco and maybe some other stuff. Good prices too, they have a dollar menu
i remember it having green onions and tomatos and cheese on top. now just tomatoes and cheese. i also remember vividly they would cut it into 4 slices. i eat at many taco bells and none do either anymore.
I love the Mexican Pizza...but they sure don't look like that now. I get no olives, no chives and a few pieces of tomatoes, it's rarely cut... and yes, usually the pizza is lopsided and cheese is stuck to the box...
lol US distorted italian pizza in the first place, and invented dominos then they distorted mexican taco, and invented taco bell, then they distorted both
I wonder how that tasted... I was born in 1997 and the only Mexican Pizza I know is the kind made with suspicious beef product, a neon orange goo referred to by them as cheese, and olive shaped objects.
I will do my best and tell you about the ORIGINAL Mexican Pizza since I worked at Taco Bell in 1988. First you take 2 flour tortillas and deep fry them until crispy. On the bottom layer, you had the same seasoned meat as on their tacos and refried beans. On the top layer was a special pizza sauce, grated mild cheddar and pepper jack cheese, olives, diced tomatoes, and diced green onions. Once this pizza was put together and put into a cardboard tray, the pizza went into a steamer for about half a minute. This way the cheese and all ingredients would be hot and very moist. After removing from the steamer, the pizza got boxed up and sent up with customer food orders. The special pizza sauce on the top layer was Taco Bell's own, and it tasted like tomato sauce you get in a can with other spices added to it, like paprika, chili powder, cumin, and garlic powder. I wish you could have experienced the Mexican Pizza from way back then, you probably would have liked it. I sure did, and so did my mom. The Meximelt was another good food item from 1988. It was a soft Taco with Taco meat, pepper jack and cheddar cheese, and a Pico de Gallo all steamed like the Mexican Pizza and then rolled up. Very good!
M L Absolutely. I did an episode on this on my Podcast Authentically Us. The episode is called The Classy Lady vs. The Bad B. I think you would like it.
@@Lanae8199 Holy shit, grandma. That's a bit rich coming from someone like you. I'm actually amazed someone as fossilized like you can use UA-cam. Let me guess, you also miss the times when the blacks had to sit at the back of the bus, right?
I remember when the pizzas had all those toppings, then the fateful day when they stopped putting green onions on it because of a "illness problem". The problem came from their fake-ass meat now!!
@UltraVioletGem yeah but they you got ppl that want super fast service now. everything is fast fast fast or ppl get an attitude. so it's a sacrifice there somewhere
I was unimpressed when I tried it a couple of months ago. The sweetness of the pizza sauce does not mix well _at all_ with the zesty seasoning in the taco meat.
We mexicans do have a Mexican Pizza, but it'a nothing like TB. It's a standard pizza with onions, refried beans, jalapeños and chorizo. Also the crust has sesame seeds.
@ColorsBright that happens everytime i fuckin order one. i feel ya there friend, have to scoop the damn cheese back on with the cheap ass plastic spork. i quit orderin that shyt.
