  • This barn find 1929 Fairbanks-Morse 7-1/2 horse power engine has sat in a shed on the other side of town for years, and was last started by being belted to a tractor. With some oiling and tinkering, away she goes in a jumping pile of smoke and flames...

Nice old engine. Ime part of a steam and oil museum in Australia where we have many such engines, that all run, it’s important to preserve our mechanical history. Well done

    From finger to sphincter xD
WOW that thing went up to eleven rightaway! I got a little afraid when it started walking about on the pallet - I bet it weighs a couple 100 kg at least!

Nothing like a 900lb cast iron unit trying to walk away on you!

On a serious note, I love the gas engine. Always good to see vintage iron placed back into service.

As we all learned from pakistani machining videos, complete industrial equipment complement includes slippers without which a machining video is considered unacceptable.

Regarding the abominable flip-flops that were so prominently on display in this video. The issue of safety is not as paramount (My motto - "Safety Third") as that of appropriate masculine shop aesthetics. No manly mechanic or engineer would be caught dead in the shop (or in public) wearing such apparel. (Yes, Adrian the same applies to Birkenstock sandals!) Therefore, one can only assume that you were trolling your audience in order to push the button of those safety Nazis who make it their life's purpose to point out every OSHA violation. 😉
