That is a nice hat! Maybe I should try to get my hands on that pattern... I SO much want to wear more hats, but it is difficult to get the right balance between casual and formal. I do want to dress up a bit more, but I do not want to be TOO overdressed. But this looks like a tilthat that I might give a go... I think the stripes will give it at tuch of vhimsicle to take a bit of "formal" away from it - just the look I could pull of.
I need more headwear. Your versions keep quietly nagging me that it's doable. 😅 And I love how yours are very much your style. It's very different from my style, but that's the beauty of making one's own!
@@aperfecttouch I've also remembered that I have a pattern for a hat covered with velvet in a magazine from 1935. Not sure it would work with cotton velvet... so I might cover it with wool instead. One day. When I figure out an affordable alternative to milinery buckram, which is impossible to get in Czechia and would have to be shipped from abroad. 🫤
What a beautiful hat! ❤
Thank you! ❤ It was a fun and surprising make!
It turned out so marvelous!!
Thank you!! ❤️. I wish we still wore hats all the time!

This pattern is very doable! Would love to see what you create!!
@@aperfecttouch I think I have very doable plans for an early Regency bonnet based on a fashion plate. I just need to figure out the materials.
@beth12svist I haven't made many Regency headcoverings but they are such varied styles. And fun!

. Cornstarch brushed on twill works nicely. There are several UA-cam videos for home made buckram.
