I love your phrase "season of winning", acknowledging the fact that life is full of ups and downs and that's normal, ride the wave while it's up and dont be envious and petty when it's down.
Let’s face it our tax payer money is going towards wars and other countries that don’t do anything for America and it’s going to waste you have to look deeper between the lines imagine how much money we would have before pre tax let that sink in in order to survive now of days you have to have multiple sources of income to be safe even for us figure collectors we have to stay diligent and woke to the system we need more conversation like this Uncle Tim keep ya head up man
A lot of toy sales are made by adult collectors, and it seems that these companies don’t want our sales. From companies using non-window boxes, to the damn figure falling apart when you lift an arm. I had that exact experience with my D&D figures from Hasbro. Plus they’re raising the prices, and they don’t know how to properly sort figures. I’ve been buying HotToys 1/6 pieces, and the quality is amazing but it’s not cheap. But I’ve been being much more selective with all of my “hobby” purchases.
I agree . I am an inbox collector and jus the attempt to try to sell windowless is insulting . Kids ..adults.. shouldnt matter . They have manged to turn a cheap imaginitive exp for children into a billion dollar industry. It was so great around 95 - 96 till about the time the V hit. That changed everything. Even our childhoods
The reason I believe it's hard to find stuff in your area is because based on my ebay purchases. There's alot ebay resellers that sell out of Illinois also California and Pennsylvania too. From what I've noticed.
Your amazing Unc, one of the best figure collectors on UA-cam. The prices are rising while quality is decreasing, so it’s great to see a collector really explain what we’re all going through. I love your channel, and you really keep a smile on my face and make collecting worth it!
I’ll never stop collecting but I did completely slow down last year. The inflation with toys got out of hand. Everything is now getting clearance out. Now people are not preordering anymore and just grabbing it if it’s on sale. I myself won’t pay these crazy prices anymore. Super7 really screwed everyone with those insane prices. They’re nice figures, not worth the price. Neca is about up to $40, they lost their minds too. Everyone jumped on that inflation and now collectors are done or slowed down. We’ll see what happens this year. 🍻
I just had a local toy store close. Its not a good time to open a business. Despite our government still cooking the books, prices are still going up on food and everything else.
Ebay is a total rip off . They take so much out of u and buyer and NOW the GOV wants their cut . Sucks so bad . They make it to where there is no money to be made. And im not a scalper i jus sell to control my figs and put back into my collection . Plus I really like tryn to give this community good deals as much as I can . Ebay makes it very difficult
I’ve only sold a few times on eBay, and one of those sales was so terrible with the buyer being a scammer, that I want nothing to do with selling with them ever again. Now you have to deal with eBay extorting money from your sale, and as you said the government wants there cut.
@@gwildor8543 I 100 % agree w you sir. Tell ya what... if you do ever find a site worth selling on PLZ hit me up on this comment so ill see it. Ive never tried any others yet . I know they are out there though. Gotta be. Ebay is jus taking straight advantage of both sides because of their popularity. But a lesser know site doesnt mean anything really . Eventually alot of ppl are gonna start going to other sites id think.
Bro, so true, I’ve been selling for about six months and the return is dogshit, you have to charge a high price which good luck with moving that and when you do sell, eBay takes a substantial chunk…
Used to buy a lot from Ebay in the early 2000 than prices skyrocketed especially on shipping prices I quit the game of searching Ebay now I just go looking around to have a few laughs for seeing ridiculous prices
He ain't saying anything we haven't said before. I feel what he's saying though. It does suck to get frustrated over a hobby. It's supposed to be fun not stressful. Unfortunately the Golden age of toy collecting is over. Once big box toy stores closed that hurt everybody, consumers and manufacturers alike. Now everything is a Target or a Walmart and they suck. Or it's a collectable shop that gauges you for vintage toys. We need a pulling your hair out emoji lol. Online in mho is no better. There's this anxiety to buy now or miss out. That's no fun either that or your order is still on hold because they just don't have the product. God I miss the days of Toys R Us and Kay B not to mention multiple retailers.
Articulation isn’t that important to me. I don’t do much figure posing once I get it into the position I want to display it. Super 7 Ultimates are some of my favorite figures but the majority of them I would not be willing to spend more than $40.
You are right about those stiff figures. It's a problem with many figures from many companies. Hasbro, McFarlane, Super 7, and more have quality control issues. It's not one in five figures that are messed up, it's an entire line of a certain figure. Stuck joints, loose joints, arms and legs popping off, no one wants to spend their hard earned money on a toy that's broken before they even take it out the package.
I am definitely scaling back. I'm not even a year in of making toy videos for the channel and I'm cutting product. I canceled 10 Hasbro figure preorders today. Might go through the other stores this week.
I actually did quit collecting a few years ago. Mostly it was because the kinds of figures I was collecting were getting way too expensive. I only really got back into it with Jakks Pacific Sonic the Hedgehog figures and MotU Origins and Masterverse. Even then, the MotU stuff coming out now is getting more costly. And don't even get me started on the exclusives.
Great video Unc. You be cracking me tf up 😂😂😂 sprinkling the salt in the water 😭 “this ain’t no recipe, I just wanna play wit the toy” lmao man. Keep it up.
I think we're going to see a lot of people starting to sell off stuff they really don't want either. Weather be to make way for new stuff they do want or just bills
B1 333 Wow I'm just saying thank you for this evening true powerful video commentary. Is indeed in my opinion truth be told the truth and food for thought. Again thank you for your deep point of view. B1
Yeah, toys and video games are not necessities, a person needs food, housing and transportation, not comic books, baseball cards , toys, video games, etc.
Keep your chin up, your content brings light to my days and makes a lot of people happy, keep doing gods work, I promise you’re gonna be okay
Thanks

These figure prices are rising at unprecedented levels 😢 SMH
You are right. I have not gotten stuff in months

It’s not a hobby, it’s an addiction

I showed Dale from Galactic comics that picture you shared of his Cobra chair!
Cool

Time to sell my collection, but I can't give it away, but it needs to be equitable. All good things must come to an end.
Right the problem is people want your collection for free

Lol so true when u buy stuff in you have to doctor it
Tickle tickle. Bump the algo.

it's crazy. the collectors market is over saturated and the economy is schizo.

I wouldn't be surprised if I do end up quitting again given how everything is costing more these days.
Did the same Im just cherry picking or looking in discount stores or flea markets
traumatic event = having child born... lol i was dying 1 min in to this vid... thanks for the content... 2024 is real
Great video Unc. You be cracking me tf up 😂😂😂 sprinkling the salt in the water 😭 “this ain’t no recipe, I just wanna play wit the toy” lmao man. Keep it up.
Well, that was depressing
If Fanstoys EVER completes their combiner teams then I will buy what's missing, other than that I'm done..
You said a mouth full about them good deeds.
Right
My issue is I have no clue how to consolidate boxes and recycling all of it at this moment. But I feel those struggles
You don’t even know what real problems are
Lol

I think we're going to see a lot of people starting to sell off stuff they really don't want either. Weather be to make way for new stuff they do want or just bills
How could you call your self grown and spend all your money on toys?
All? You ok? our money not the same
Sorry if I upset you
Amen
Yo, Tim. What flight stand do you use for your QUICKSILVER figure? Thx..

Yup

Yeah, toys and video games are not necessities, a person needs food, housing and transportation, not comic books, baseball cards , toys, video games, etc.
That’s your opinion. Peoples will always make time for what they make their priorities
What are your hobbies and desires then? Or do you just work, pay bills and go to bed? Gotta fill in the gaps with interests. Or be boring.
