So pink haired dude is in a simulation of his past, and the dude he's fighting killed his daughter irl and made his wife commit suicide, he's already killed him irl in a rage by shooting him from far away, the serial killer hadn't actually been proven guilty so pink haired dude gets arrested and tried for murder, and he is quite fucked up in the head because of all this. Now he gets another chance to do his kill properly in this simulation, the serial killer goes by 'The Challenger', his MO is that he murders his targets by challenging them to a MMA fight, only to brutalise them with his superior strength. Pink haired dude 'challenges' the challanger to a fight, claiming that he originally couldn't because he was racing the cops on t he way to the crime scene, and by doing things this way, he gets his revenge by not only torturing the challenger, but he is going out of his way to ruin his final fight by essentially cheating. Additionally by letting himself get messed up first, pink haired dude is able to get away with the murder because he claims self defence, which along with the bloodied arena with a victim in it, is made valid.
Now seeing the scene for the entirety instead of the shorts, I can finally say: it’s sucks ass! You are unable to fight and use a gun. Commit to one otherwise the moral victory goes to the other. Dude wiped the floor with you without a gun and two shots, one on each leg.
The scene wasn't meant to be fair... The guy that was demolishing the pink haired guy is a criminal who kills their victims in a duel. Except that all of them are just civilians and his two final victims are children. The scene wasn't for the guy to have a fair fight, it's for revenge. He doesn't care if it's not fair or even a moral victory because that's not why he came there in the first place. It's to give the guy a moment of euphoria when he thought he was winning only for him to just snatch it away from him. It's to humiliate him that he's stupid enough to actually believe a cop would run to a serial killer's house to just have an old-fashioned brawl.
Who tf use pistol as melee when you still have bullets left. Plus if he had it since beginning, why not use it. You have every right to be pissed and call the author
