      Huskies are the closest thing to a wolf you can get to but don't put it past them they are not a dog but they are a whole different breed of animal smarter then the average dog from a pit bull to a golden retriever they are more independent and can hunt for them selves if given the chance the sad part they are not street smart and can get hit by a truck or car easily because of that instinct they have from their wolf ancestors but a husky is a wonderful companion for a person as long as you research their breed and typical needs

    Grizzly bears and Polar Bears are the same species originally. Polar bears are basically arctic grizzly bears. There is virtually no genetic difference between them.

    • @ILLSTATEPOCKETS
      @ILLSTATEPOCKETS 3 роки тому +3

      Wrong scientists analyzed genome-wide DNA sequence data from seven polar bears, and Grizzlies, The study also included genetic data from other bears that was recently published by other researchers. Shapiro's team found that polar bears are a remarkably homogeneous species with no evidence of grizzly bear ancestry

    • @pollymars3776
      @pollymars3776 3 роки тому

      @@ILLSTATEPOCKETS Both polar bears and grizzly bears each still have 74 chromosomes, and enough genetic similarity that the two species can mate and produce viable and fertile offspring. Whereas, something like a horse and a donkey aren't able to produce a viable and fertile offspring because their genetics diverged millions of years ago to the point where they can mate and produce an offspring, but because their chromosomes no longer align their baby is unable to have its own offspring. Grizzly bears and polar bears only diverged around $150,000 years ago and not had a chance to drift as far compared to horses and donkeys.
      So their offsprings are able to reproduce and if organisms can interbreed and produce viable and fertile offspring that means they belong to the same specie. Grizzly bears and polar bears share the same DNA.

    • @GediSpock
      @GediSpock 8 років тому +29

      To suggest wolves would make excellent pets is idiotic.
      They don't.
      Wolves make wolf pack members.
      That need a rigid hierarchy with a totally confident and dominant leader that they can respect.
      If you don't give them that 24/7.
      They will exert their dominance and take over.
      That's how they are.
      They aren't dogs who have been bred to be subservient and dependant on man.
      All wolves genetic memories are from generation of animals that fled man and killed to eat.
      Sure. Some people have the skills and more importantly, the time, to lead a wolf pack.
      But there are also many places rammed full of wolves and wolf dogs that romantic owners couldn't control.
      "But it was such a beautiful puppy"
      Wolves are not pets.

      +Benjamin Mckenzie I think he meant more dangerous as in more aggressive. A wolf is obviously much stronger but they only act on instinct. Pitbulls are aggressive by nature so they have much more of a chance of attacking you than a wolf.

    • @Skankhunt-vy7iy
      @Skankhunt-vy7iy 8 років тому +4

      I can see your point also coupled with the fact that pitbulls living in proximity with humans is way more common situation giving them a much higher attack rate but if you're an adult human in your prime the chances of you surving a pitbull attack vs a wolf is much higher

    Actually, the grolar bear hybrid isn't so sad, because (I googled it) they're still fertile. It would be much more sad if it was causing them to die out afterwards, but they're still fertile and their children continue to hybridize with either the polar or grizzly bears afterwards.

    To all the people talking about the wolf pet: For your information the wolf as a pup most likely needed help that the wild didn't have to offer, so the wolf pup was given to someone who has the license and rights to nurture the animal. Then it becomes a "pet" by learning obedience. Also wolves are loyal animals, and way back wolves were pets to people. Wild animals are treated like they all have rabies, but guess what some (not all) are very loyal and obedient.

    Wolf Dogs can be amazing! Once they are past the "pup" phase and you've asserted dominance over them, they can be great companions. If you want a loving giant, wolf dogs are a good choice. Just know that you need to give them A LOT of attention especially when they are young, that's when the right discipline and training can go a long way.

    A wolf is an apex predator. You can not tame them to ever be more then a
    side show animal and that is bad for the animal.They need much more
    then a normal person can provide. Taming a wolf would be as bad as
    taming a tiger, bear, lion, any big cat really and some of the smaller
    wild cats. They need to be free.

      dogs are estimated to be with homo sapiens around 16.000 years. if one thinks dogs are still "the living proof" nontheless then yeah, you could say that you can probably tame any species to be obedient in 16.000 years but that wouldn't change the fact that any wild animal humans touch becomes a side show animal inevitably.

      There are now fully domesticated foxes. It took 50 years of selective breeding as part of a program in Russia, trying to replicate how wolves became Tame.... Just because Dogs have been with humans for thousands of years, does not mean it took thousands of years for them to become domesticated.. Several generations at the least.. with selective breedings.

    • @ulkem
      @ulkem 7 років тому +3

      Weapon Smith, Brynjar domesticated and obedient are different things, as you know. what you say would be more fitting for cats I think, cats are domesticated but not obedient. we domesticated wolves, they became dogs. if you've seen the rest of the documentary, it says the new docile fox generations have shorter ears and tails which means they're evolving into something other than what we zoologically call "fox" because of physiological reasons. give us some more time, you'll see how much more we can degrade other beings for our selfish pleasures :)

      - setting aside Canis lupus x for a second, it is STILL interspecific hybridisation in the case of crossing the dog with lycaon, rufus and simensis!
      - now, as regards Canis lupus; current dog taxonomy has dogs not as a wolf subspecies, but their own species; Canis familiaris. This makes this an interspecies hybrid too!

    *Wolfdog hybrid is a mix of a dog and a wolf. *Zebroids, Zebra hybrids, usually from a male Zebra and a female pony, horse or donkey. Which never occur in nature and many Zebroids can be born with a form dwarfism and are almost always infertile. *Cama hybrid is created from a male Camel and female Llama. Camel is about 6 times the size of a Llama so mating would be pretty impossible. Cama hybrid was created using artificial insemination in Dubai. Interestingly the Cama hybrid is also one of the rare few hybrids that are always fertile and this results from both the camel and the lama having the exact same amount of chromosomes. *Jaglion hybrid is simply stunning, a mix of a male Jaguar and a female Lion. *Grolar Bear is actually a naturally occurring hybrid, a mix of a grizzly bear and a polar bear which is a very strange mix and kind of sad too, grizzly bears and polar bears don't usually live among each other. The polar bears natural habitat is being destroyed due to climate change, they are being forced to move further south. This is where they meet the grizzly bear, and as nature has it, they seem to get on well. So while this hybrid is not man made, it's kind of an indirect result of mankind's actions.

    The domestic dog literally is a wolf. It's a subspecies, and its variety is testament to the amazing plasticity of Canis lupus' genes. A wolfdog is an intergrade (subspecies A x subspecies B), not a true hybrid (species A x species B).

    grizzly also have teeth as Plant ewes. can both eat plant and meat.

    Love wolf dogs I have one named howler and there not like that they can tare your house to pieces and you have to have a huge yard and treat them right not good if you have children they can be kind the next moment they can bite or injure you don't wake them up last time I almost got bite and you might want to watch you other pets and you need a fence about 6 - 10 feet tall so watch out if they get out your gonna have issues so a wolf dog can be a lot of work so if your watching this be careful Bye!!!

    They have Polar Bear DNA in some species found in Tibet! They have also admitted that there are two types of the Yeti, a bear breed, a Brown Bear that is partly a Polar Bear Hybrid and an Ape looking breed! One of these bears was killed during the Years of WW2 by a German and the stuffed remains are now on display in Tibet!
