I received my 4100 yesterday and I already call it the "Goldilocks" bench. Not too heavy. Not too expensive. Exceptionally stable. Perfect for the home gym. I would have bought the 5200, but the 125-lb. weight of one scared me away. At 5'11, the 36-inch backpad is more than enough. My only wish would be to knurl the lift handle. I'm sure they're holding out on that feature for 2025.

Great honest review! I have to say moving heavy benches is like that itch that slowly gets worse over time....At first I didn't mind, but now I almost want to just get a flat bench so I don't have to keep moving my adjustable one.
It really is and with 6 benches currently (obviously no purpose there just for reviews) it gets old quick. Some of them hardly ever move or get used because who wants to deal with it?

I received my AB-4100 a couple days ago. I too had bent ladder cages. Mine were bent in the same spots as Gluck’s. It would stick at about the 75 degree mark. REP’s customer service was great. They are sending out replacements, no issues and no arguing. I think the issue is the foam they put on the ladder for shipping getting compressed on the ladder cage by the bench enough that it bends the (somewhat fragile) ladder cage. The bench came in flawless condition other than that. It really is the perfect weight and size for a home gym. I really enjoy it. The blue ab-4100 looks great with my blue Apollo half rack!

I was a little peeved initially that I went with the 4100 instead of the 5200, but after seeing how the 5200 is significantly longer (and honestly I wish my 4100 was an inch or two shorter for tricep extensions), I now know it was the right choice. I do wish I had gone with blue instead of black as the numbers on the side are basically illegible on mine.
Agree with the Goldilocks comment. I had agonized between the two benches for a year and a half. I'm a powerlifter and needed a good deal of support, but also wanted to have something less that 125lbs to move around and store upright. The day this bench came out, I ordered it. It's PERFECT! Mr. Gluck didn't mention much about the colors btw, the green color kicks you know what. It's beautiful. I'm not sure what all the fuss is about the lack of knurling on the handle. The balance of this bench when rolling it is so easy that I don't even notice that it's smooth. my hands are already torn up from training, i actually like the handle being smooth in my hand. It moves and stores upright like a dream. If you have been vascillating between the other two benches GET THIS ONE! Now, if they could only come up with a smaller GHD. 🤔
Quality bench. I didn't go crazy about the colors since every other reviewer got white (you'll see) and they were limited editions but hopefully the clips show off enough of a few colors.

I've been researching for hours the last few days on equipment to get for my home gym I'll be starting once our basement is done being remodeled and this seems like the perfect bench for me. I pray my wife doesn't kill me when she sees all the stuff I got lol. I saw a handful people complaining about tightening the bolt on the 5200 didn't completely eliminate the wobble but others didn't have this issue. Hoping I don't run in to this on the 4100 but it's a chance I'm willing to take and it sounds like their customer service is pretty responsive.
Great review. How does incline pressing on the 20-degree seat tilt of the 4100 compare to the 30-degrees of the 5200? Do you find yourself missing the extra 10 degrees of seat tilt?

The 4100 is a no brainer for us. Wife and I have to work out simultaneously due to time constraints with kids and job. We have a RML-490 on a 8'x8' plywood and horse stall mat platform such that we can squat, bench, deadlift, and whatever else simultaneously. The dimensions of the FB5000 and the AB4100 allow simultaneous benching with both on the platform within the 8' length. It saves time for us and opens up floorspace off the platform, as our AB "station" can be moved to the platform without having to do a major shuffling of bench exercise.. Now that they ship to Canada, I'm ordering both shortly, to replace our existing FB and AB which do not both fit within the 8' length for the feet. Our gym is almost complete!....maybe...
I got the REP AB3000 (an FID bench with a lower price point than the ones you discussed). I have been extremely happy with it. More to the point, I also had a very good experience with REP’s customer service. UPS dragged the box up my driveway, wore away some of the cardboard packaging (the packaging was excellent, this is entirely on UPS), and rubbed off a little bit of the paint on one of the parts. I called REP, asked for some touchup paint, and it promptly arrived at my house. Not quite no questions asked because they quizzed me to make sure they sent the right paint. REP wants you to be happy with their equipment.
I'm with you. I've had good experiences and when I haven't they've fixed it quick. The "lower end" benches we'll cover in the future just trying to get through that mid/high level atm
@@GlucksGym I started out creating my home gym during the height of covid when gym equipment was very hard to get, much harder than now. My first “bench” was a Step It platform with a number of extra risers. My AB3000 was a huge improvement. If I recall correctly, that bench is REP’s least expensive adjustable bench, but it is not cheap or low-end. You have to go to other sellers for that.
@@majorgear1021 FID = flat/incline/decline. The AB-4100 doesn't have a decline feature. The AB-3000 does. It can be set flat, to various incline angles up to 85 degrees, or to a decline angle of either -15 or -20 degrees.
Gotta love that blue! That’s the color I have on my rack and bench from Rep. I like the wider pad support they have on this one and if they had dropped it a few months ago it would’ve made deciding between it and and the 5200 a tougher choice! I think I still like the 5200 better though because like you pointed out I can setup for bench press on just the back pad. Thanks for posting!
I picked up a purple 4100 a week or so ago and also had busted ladders that they've already set up replacements for as well. Mine were a little more busted up than yours, but I really like this bench overall regardless. Gotta say it's one of the best I've ever used and that price tag can't be beat. I have has multiple problems with rep customer service. 1st time, they said prove it, we ain't doing nothing. 2nd time, no bolts for my AB4000 bench, took 2 months to get my bolts!
I can't say Rogue and others haven't forced my to prove it. I look at it from their perspective. They don't know who I am so it's ok to ask for proof as I'm sure you've dealt with a ton of people who are trying to get something for nothing. Can't excuse the time for the bolts though.
@@GlucksGym Oddly I’ve had more luck with Rogue than Rep. There are some stinkers that work at Rogue for sure, but I’ve had more issues with QC with Rep than any company I’ve dealt with in this space That and my god their shipping doesn’t. Survive the trip down here to southern US
I also currently have the 5200 In black and it’s great... wobbly so maybe I gotta tighten the bolt you mentioned as well and see but the bench is to long for my useage. I literally told them to make a short 5200 option and wham bam the 4100 was created. I’ll take 1% credit for it but in all seeioussness I need a shorter bench for my apartment gym Ans it appears this solves my problem. Now do I wish it was alittle less then $100 difference sure... maybe when it’s on sale I’ll grab one and sell off my 5200. I don’t see myself hitting the 700lb max rating but generally all benches can survive more then they are rated too. Just sharing my opinions on the matter and home gym (nyc apartment gym) issues I have :)
Wynie and I were just discussing how many subs and viewers we had in cities like NY! I bet you could sell your 5200 for close to what this costs pretty easily. After more time it's grown on me more and more and seems to be the one everyone pulls out.

Wish you had shown a closer look at how the support bars fit into the ladder. Where the AB5200 has a large, replaceable, bolt; the 4100 appears to be just one piece , part of the support bar. The bars appear to be much lighter than the AB5200. Also, unlike the AB5200 I don't see any mod possible to tighten the fit at the ladder. Thanks for your videos and including Wynie ...

Dear GG, if you could go back at the start of your working out journey. What is some advice you would give yourself? Or maybe what are some prerequisites you feel are necessary to understand/grasp beforehand?
Probably to start younger and learn as much as possible early on. I've always been one to learn what I can but I'm sure as I was younger I didn't realize what it takes to maximize the gifts you have. I ran competitively which forced me into the weight room but I didn't really appreciate it until much later on. I suppose I took my gifts for granted. Idk if I addressed any that in my 5 life lessons video but it might be an interesting watch for you.

Does this bench lean or tip easily? I saw a video where the user showed it tipping easily in any incline position or if reaching for weights off the floor. It looks really stable, but that video surprised me. I debating if I want this or the Powerblock Sport Bench which is lesser quality, but same size for the most part and $150 less.
Saw that video and wondered the same. . The Powerblock Sport bench is nowhere even close to Rep quality. I owned The Powerblok bench several years ago and after about 6 months sold it for the Rep AB-3100. Now considering another upgrade to the 41 or 5200. The extra $$ for the Rep will be worth it.
Still sleeping on that GetRX'd FIDAB-2 and buying up everything Rep has to offer 👀😂. I own it and feel it's the best of both worlds between the AB5000/5100 and 5200/Rogue 3.0. Caged ladder adjustment, decline capability, minimal gap. Would like to hear your opinions on it side by side with all those though!

I do feel like thr pricing is odd in their current setup. I think the weight capability probably isn't a factor for the vast majority of people but it's a good point on your part
Go with Rep. Get RX’s customer service was terrible for me. My bench is rusting like crazy and they told me it was “normal ware and tare.” It’s less than a year old.

If you mean reviewers who don't say negative things well not everyone so honest and thorough which is something I strive to be.

Hahaha the 3100 is a great budget bench! Rep makes a lot of good stuff and is really pushing hard in 2022 so I'm sure you'll hear a lot more of them.

I picked up a purple 4100 a week or so ago and also had busted ladders that they've already set up replacements for as well. Mine were a little more busted up than yours, but I really like this bench overall regardless. Gotta say it's one of the best I've ever used and that price tag can't be beat. Hope the affiliate link worked!
I read a bit pissed when I got mine and was trying to figure out where it fits in but after a few weeks (and the new cage) it's really grown on me
@@GlucksGym My cage was also bent. They were going to send me whole new bench, and offered me another color if I wanted since blue was OOS. I just bent it back myself. Too EZ.

I have has multiple problems with rep customer service. 1st time, they said prove it, we ain't doing nothing. 2nd time, no bolts for my AB4000 bench, took 2 months to get my bolts!
I can't say Rogue and others haven't forced my to prove it. I look at it from their perspective. They don't know who I am so it's ok to ask for proof as I'm sure you've dealt with a ton of people who are trying to get something for nothing. Can't excuse the time for the bolts though.

Oddly I’ve had more luck with Rogue than Rep. There are some stinkers that work at Rogue for sure, but I’ve had more issues with QC with Rep than any company I’ve dealt with in this space
That and my god their shipping doesn’t. Survive the trip down here to southern US
When will you review the GET RX’d bench? Kind of torn between that and REP benches. I do like decline and the ability to do decline sit-ups

I like it more now then when I reviewed it. It's grown on me and you can see from the gym tour how much Wynie loves it.
I also currently have the 5200 In black and it’s great... wobbly so maybe I gotta tighten the bolt you mentioned as well and see but the bench is to long for my useage. I literally told them to make a short 5200 option and wham bam the 4100 was created. I’ll take 1% credit for it but in all seeioussness I need a shorter bench for my apartment gym Ans it appears this solves my problem. Now do I wish it was alittle less then $100 difference sure... maybe when it’s on sale I’ll grab one and sell off my 5200. I don’t see myself hitting the 700lb max rating but generally all benches can survive more then they are rated too. Just sharing my opinions on the matter and home gym (nyc apartment gym) issues I have :)
Wynie and I were just discussing how many subs and viewers we had in cities like NY! I bet you could sell your 5200 for close to what this costs pretty easily. After more time it's grown on me more and more and seems to be the one everyone pulls out.

Best reviewer on home gym equipment! I’ve been dragging my feet on which rep bench to buy(currently have a crappy Amazon one right now). Half of me just says buy once cry once and get the zero gap. The other half says I’m a frugal mofo and the Amazon crap is doing it’s job. 🤣🤦🏻♂️

Wish you had shown a closer look at how the support bars fit into the ladder. Where the AB5200 has a large, replaceable, bolt; the 4100 appears to be just one piece , part of the support bar. The bars appear to be much lighter than the AB5200. Also, unlike the AB5200 I don't see any mod possible to tighten the fit at the ladder. Thanks for your videos and including Wynie ...

Dear GG, if you could go back at the start of your working out journey. What is some advice you would give yourself? Or maybe what are some prerequisites you feel are necessary to understand/grasp beforehand?
Probably to start younger and learn as much as possible early on. I've always been one to learn what I can but I'm sure as I was younger I didn't realize what it takes to maximize the gifts you have. I ran competitively which forced me into the weight room but I didn't really appreciate it until much later on. I suppose I took my gifts for granted. Idk if I addressed any that in my 5 life lessons video but it might be an interesting watch for you.

Does this bench lean or tip easily? I saw a video where the user showed it tipping easily in any incline position or if reaching for weights off the floor. It looks really stable, but that video surprised me. I debating if I want this or the Powerblock Sport Bench which is lesser quality, but same size for the most part and $150 less.
Saw that video and wondered the same. . The Powerblock Sport bench is nowhere even close to Rep quality. I owned The Powerblok bench several years ago and after about 6 months sold it for the Rep AB-3100. Now considering another upgrade to the 41 or 5200. The extra $$ for the Rep will be worth it.

Still sleeping on that GetRX'd FIDAB-2 and buying up everything Rep has to offer 👀😂. I own it and feel it's the best of both worlds between the AB5000/5100 and 5200/Rogue 3.0. Caged ladder adjustment, decline capability, minimal gap. Would like to hear your opinions on it side by side with all those though!
Not sleeping, I've communicated with them a lot and it was up next and they want it reviewed but there's more interest in a new product so had to swap the order. It's even in the poll we just released.

I've gotten a ton from them without issue and would put their service and quality against Rogue (at least modern Rogue)

I’ve had 3 5200 benches before I gave up, all bent and 4x deep Knurl power bars
They just don’t QC well enough, at least people like me without a UA-cam channel and live far away from Colorado in the southern states
Before starting this video, just based on the specs I would choose this bench over my AB-5200... space is key!

Go with Rep. Get RX’s customer service was terrible for me. My bench is rusting like crazy and they told me it was “normal ware and tare.” It’s less than a year old.

I have used it and talked to others who have had issues and we plan to review. I'm sure you didn't mean to be insulting by insinuating I'm being paid but I bought all these Rep products myself. The only way I "get paid" is by people who are nice enough to click the links. If you mean reviewers who don't say negative things well not everyone so honest and thorough which is something I strive to be.

Rep seriously has a firm grip on the bench market. They have so much variety. If you’re buying a bench nothing else makes sense. If you’re buying a home gym all at once that’s when people tend to match brands with whatever rack they’re getting.
