I am really hapoy that you added angelic buster , so many youtubers never add her into a class list even though the class gets a really strong damage boost through nodes and spotlight.
Don't really play much maplestory anymore but I always check out videos like these just to see where the game is currently standing. Great video man, you definitely deserve more subscribers. Keep it up and I'm sure they'll rake in. This was very well done. One tip I would give you though is to just lower the music a tiny bit so we can hear your voice more clearly. Cheers!
I know this vid was made before the DPM chart came out and can clearly see it says "unfunded" but playin on Reboot kinda beats the purpose of unfunded so hopefully you can make a future video based on the dpm chart classes and why they are considered in that order of ranking. thank you for your hard work
DPM charts don't mean anything. They only show DPM in the most ideal situations with all classes having exactly the same gear (roughly). It also doesn't show how fun each class is!! That's the most important in Reboot in my opinion. HAVING FUN!!! Clearly I don't really care about DPM charts.
Im going to play reboot for the first time, and was trying to find videos that were recent, where i can play a class that I can enjoy but also be strong enough that wouldn't depend on other people to reach end game. Your video just bases classes on randomness imo if you look into dpm chart. I understand you dont base it off of it, but your title states top 10 unfunded. And now ur saying shit like, "that's the most important in REBOOT imo". You can't say crap like that if you just go against your word on the top 10 classes to play. At least change your title so it isnt misleading into people that end up playing a class on your video and end up quitting because you mislead them into playing a class that has no damage.
The DPM charts don't show how fun each class is. My video is definitely not based on the DPM chart either. Having fun is the most important in any server. Don't twist my words. My title isn't misleading, you're just interpreting it incorrectly. If you're talking about pure damage, then look at classes with the highest %multiplier on their skills. Those classes will do the most damage without any equipment. You as a player need to explore all the classes. Videos like this are giving classes that aren't as popular a spotlight so players could see their potential and flaws. Don't be so single-minded in the future please. Not everything is right/wrong. Some may say this is a very good list because it outlines a variety of classes and illustrates the pros & cons of them.
Aran’s combo mechanics were annoying for a while until I switched from keyboard to my Xbox controller. Definitely worth the level of fun I’ve experienced with Aran. Thanks for the vid and best to you!
Maplestory detects the main keys on the controller, but bumper keys aren't really detected for "my" PS3 controller. So I had to use JoytoKey to make it work. You set it up accordingly to your skills.
is this common? I haven't played the game since 2008 and I would like to return. I was considering dual blader but maybe I'll try Battle mage since I like to party
I have a level 183 Aran and it’s fun to use. Arabs don’t really have to use HP potions because of their skill of doing damage to the enemy and gaining health. I totally agree with him when he says Arans do get MP hungry, it is true. The only time u need HP potions is when u fight bosses. Overall it’s fun to play as Aran but might get a little tiring from doing all the combos
Since sudden raid lowers the cooldown for final cut each time you cast it, you can easily maintain permanent final cut with just mechanics legion card. It's better to get att/crit as 2nd and 3rd line
Attk 2nd is definite, but 3rd line has room to play with either crit or buff duration. Really depends on playstyle at this point and what you have in legion.
If U love Naruto (Sharingan” Susano”) You will love Shade... Although his 5th job skill doesn’t look impressive at all, but you get to summon all of his Susano forms soooo...
hey mate i have just start up again on maple, i have a 147 shade which i have start to find boring, i am leveling a luminous as in your list you placed it 2nd for best unfunded. i have 2 questions , 1: i like archers, what would be a good archer class to go that would be best to level unfunded 2: now this also helps with 1, what is the definition of funded, like how much mesos do i need?
1. I would suggest Wind Archer or Wild Hunter 2. There's no specific amount of mesos needed to become "funded" as most of the end game funds are based around RNG (cubing & star forcing), so everyone will have a different amount. Also, prices range depending on server (e.g. Bera vs. GRAZED) where supply & demand are different which reflects the state of the economy for your server. If funded in a general term meaning being able to defeat hard bosses (e.g Hard Mag, CRA, Hellux), then you won't need as much mesos than when compared to someone that is trying to defeat end game bosses (e.g. Lucid, Lotus, Damien) because that will require a lot more mesos than your standard "funded" player. Those players are reaching what is called, "Power Creep" where the only thing they can rely on to gain more damage is cubing for the best stats possible. Hope this helps.
I have a lvl 110 cadena rn and personally not a hard class to get used to, at times I get away with just spamming skills from using skills from current job skills or just the previous, the only skill that is used often is from 1st job where you grapple youreself is the most useful but fun class to play with and often not a class that doesn't get bored easy
I have never seen anyone mentioned Kanna. I love Kanna, she barely use MP since she has Haku which is her fox. Also, Kanna ' defence isn't weak. When I play Kanna, I dont spend anything for HP. Kanna is also a great and easy class. You can have a full screen damage skill in 2nd job. However, sadly, no one has mentioned Kanna
I personally started with Mercedes and she really is pretty great/fun to play once you get used to her combos. A very unpopular class though because of all the combos that you have to remember and the lack of space on your keyboard haha. I haven't really tried most of the classes you've mentioned but recently I trained a Lumi for link skill and his mobbing is pretty awesome.
Good video. Just one question, isn't demon avenger a really good Dps class with the 5th job skill? That's what i heard from several high level players at least
This is such an informative video! I just redownloaded maple, do you think that flame wizard is worth creating?? I have 2 slots for chars left, so between kinesis, lumi, flame wizard and priest, which 2 classes would you recommend me most?? I'm a fan of mages with great mobility, so the nerf to lumi's teleport is a bit of a turndown for me. Sorry to bother you!
Lost Figure Not a bother at all! I would recommend trying out Kinesis! A lot of people don't play that class and it's actually quite fun! You've got pretty good mobility too!
Hi Sojiniee thx for the video, i quit the game during demon slayer release, and wish to play the game again. I got a BM and XBM i dont think its f2p friendly. Which class you recommend me to start over from zero?
Is this post-1.2.294? cause illium got a massive buff and is a lot more viable. It's also worth noting that post 200 training you don't have to worry about it's squishy-ness as long as you train in areas that you have 50% more AF than required. Main features of Illium I'd say are: 10 second party invincibility, Hyper skill with I-frames, party heal with crystal skill link that can be used regularly for sustain, and huge amounts of burst damage. Also I'm not sure about damage statistics, but I find Striker to be really strong still.
I love my Dual Blade to death but it’s way too expensive to fund it. Working on my Luminous now. It’s only lv. 203 but with 13mil range. I’m kinda set with Reflection and Ender. I dunno, I might work on my DS next.
Hey, how would the damage calculated? I'm looking for a fun class and damage heavy to play. My previous main was a Demon Slayer. I love damage. His Demon Impact does (460% +30%IDR and +40%BOSS)*6 + unlimited blue blood (cast consistently with his hyper skill that gives tons of fury to recharge blue blood). However, he is too buff reliant. I'm shitting my pants every time i do hard magnus coz my range is scrub and I die often. As such, I can't make use of the unlimited blue blood as much as when i'm mobbing. Also, I'm trying to find a class that has similar damage but better mobility. I don't really like his glide. I'm currently looking at shadower.. Any thoughts?
Samuel Tan Shadowers are pretty good for bossing and mobbing. You'll definitely need to get to 5th job first before you reap the fruits of mobbing and bossing on Shadowers
generally speaking, warrior and mage are more easily to fund so you will get higher atk range if u know how to fund. Pirates and thief are the hardest to fund.
If you're going to be playing Hero after 5th job (level 200+) then I would suggest playing that. Wind Archer isn't that great for bossing mainly because of the amount of buffs you have (every time you die, you have to recast them all). Heroes get pretty good damage whereas Wind Archers let you hold down 1 button and attack.
Hero's 5th job is stronger than Wind Archer. I recommend playing Wind Archer if you aren't going to play it past 5th job. Plus, you don't need to buy mastery books!
How good unfunded would you say a Buccaneer is? Im making a new secondary main on reboot being buccaneer cause i like punching things but ill just be later replacing it with ark.
Lionel Bichotte I would say just make a buccaneers because it'll help increase your legion levels. They're not bad unfunded if you like punching things. Quite satisfying
I started BaM and it's no good. First telecasting doesn't work against the majority of bosses. Second, damage is low requires a lot of funding. (Same items and level as my blaze wizard. While Blaze wizard has a bit over double it's range). Last, It's mechanically unfit for damage. Only thing good about BaM that I miss currently is Knockback resist. Was great, but I have Mihile for that. I vote remove it. In favour of the I/L. That class is very powerful requires little to no funding, and very mechanically friendly.
Rodel Newton While that's true, blaze wizard and I/L doesn't have a permanent life steal. So does that make or break the game? Up to you whether or not you feel that it's useful or not
If life steal is the thing applying it to this list, might as well forget about it. 15% of hp isn't a lot. BaM is fairly tanky, 15% won't be a lot (Not that ginger ale is expensive either). If I don't get one shot, I'm probably not dying. the 15% has only really helped during bosses with potion lock. Doesn't help during grinding. In that case, i also have a paladin, it had a passive heal, was tanky and did the same amount of damage as my BaM (Maybe a little less). I think, the one that made me quit BaM for good (At around 170) was the lack of telecast working on the majority of bosses. That was a very large problem. The class is also very mechanically demanding (telecasting +swaping auras for maximum damage). Which is why it requires a lot of funding because a lot of your damage will not be available to be dealt.
Rodel Newton Good point. There are definitely other classes that provide these traits and are more superior for their roles. BaM just has a little bit of everything in their kit, which is why I recommended it.
+Sojiniee I’m so anxious lol, I had to make a new nexon account tho 😩 oh well I think I’m gonna start with all the heroes first, idk about shade though
i would actually add WA to the honorable mention, just because how easy they are to play, how cheap they are overall, and since they have really good mobility, but i do agree with most of the list thx alot :)
Are phantoms hard to fund? I have over 800m on my account but I want to start a new character from scratch on reboot since my world is really... dead. (Windia)
Great video :D btw, im a casual player looking to reinstall MS, I'm thinking of dual blade (i like playing solo and dealing high damage). But i dont plan to use real money (other than pet). Is this a good idea if i use my mesos carefully? is it hard/very expensive to get good equipments?
Hi again! In your video you mention jr boogie familiar. Where do we find it? Is it still available in maple now? I can’t seem to find any guide :( thanks! Dual blade burns mana quite abit haha.
Demon avenger is only on the honorable mentions? If we're talking about newplayers that have 0 funding, DA would be one of the best classes to start with if not THE best class, while not having the best dps and not a really good 5th job, just the small detail of not need to spend Mesos on HP or MP pots would already make for a great class for unfunded players to start paving the way towards better funding, also, DA does not use the same skill for bossing and mobbing, at least not anymore
I think demon avenger is top 1. He can easily over 200k damage range in lv 200 without any %equipment. Even my paladin is half funded cannot reach that range in lv200 (with all buff)
I've played Kanna for years and I found it to be the most well-rounded to start out with. They have a healing skill, they can increase spawn rate without the need of ever gambling or trading for a Frenzy totem, they are not as squishy as most mages during training, they have powerful utility buffs and start out w/ a minimal amount of self-buffs other than Maple Warrior. My favorite thing about Kannas is that they're one of the mages with the highest (if not the highest) amount of HP later in the game, and you can just dump your hyper stat points towards %HP after you're done maxing out %dmg, %ignore def, and %boss, for the fact it has a beginner skill that increases magic attack by 1 per each 700 HP. Mine's currently at 104k-110k max HP with Level 8 %HP hyper and DHB, which can easily rival Dark Knight in this aspect, and unlike Dark Knight, they start out with two binds. Only major drawback is that like most other mages, it can get a bit difficult to get anything beyond a 2000 score on Spirit Savior, and for the fact its DPS can be lackluster for bossing even if funded, but other than that, I haven't found any reason to complain about Kanna gameplay. Kannas should be added to this list. They're not the strongest, but certainly I find them to be the most versatile for the reasons above.
I feed zero deserve to be in one of the top 10.... best mobility in all the warrior class, very good sustain due to combo assist has bind at 5th job and are not bad on both bossing and mobing (just before lv180 is weak)
Is this reboot? If so, how do you make your chars kill the mobs with just a few hits? My DB took many hits to kill the same mobs your DB was hunting on the video.
This isn't reboot! So that's why I might be a bit stronger than you at Below the Cave. Also, it could be because I have more Arcane Force!! If you get more Arcane Force, you will develop more damage! This will help: strategywiki.org/wiki/MapleStory/Arcane_River
Sojiniee Thank you. Just one more question: do you think it is worth it playing on normal servers? I wouldn't spend any money at all besides getting a pet, altough I have enough maple points to do so. I played on Reboot for some months and I found it very boring to have limited player interection.
Yes! I love the trading aspect of the game and Reboot is a little too hardcore. Being able to quickly buy a golden hammer from the Auction House doesn't really ruin your experience of being "Pay to Win", which I like. Having access to other players is a huge bonus if you aren't going to spend money (except for a pet which is totally acceptable). Also, how else are you going to ask someone to help you scroll your gollux items if you can't trade it over to them?
Sojiniee you should make a reboot class list (I'd imagine it could he different given how cubes are acquired)! Just binge watched all your vids! You should also recommend the giant spider familiar. It heals and gives even more mana than Jr boogie. Idk if they still exist but that's what I used back then
The Jr.Boogie only really is useful for grinding because by the time you switch to using Big Spider/Mutant Ribbon Pig Familiar, you don't need mana regen.
thats true. im coming back to the game today, and back to class dilemma. starting in reboot this time around. I hear attackspeed is changed, does that mean % hard hitters are more valued now?
Because you have to wait until 5th job until things become interesting. Your main attacking skill is slow unless you hit attack speed cap which may be difficult because you're going to need every possible way to get to the speed cap. Wind Archer doesn't need as much.
huh, is this new?! i dont know too much about Lumi, but i remember most videos saying that they were bad at bossing due to low lines in comparison to some harder hitters (At the time) with better scaling and more lines. THis is great, im going to start Lumi this summer!
Sojiniee I remember at certain point (not exactly as late as "funded") but people always told me Lumi scaling drops off compared to other classes. I remember many years ago ZeroByDivide was also talking about how Lumi is pretty average or below average in comparison to other bossing classes. So I never ended up playing Lumi seriously. But always liked the amount of skills he had and the variety you can do in bossing just for fun. Instead I went with fire poison mage. Super boring but at the time was a much better bosser it seemed to also not require as much funding Actually now that I think about it I think it was someone asking ZeroByDivide , forgot how he answered.
Sojiniee also you should make a list for reboot ! (I find that's the server returning and new players go to. And content makers like you are the essence of keeping the community live, there are so little maplestory players nowadays T.T )
No Hero/Shadower/FirePoison? Those are the OG good unfunded classes due to innate high damage -- I would recommend these classes before Cadena, Kaiser, or Dual Blade, which require lots of skill and funding (which unfunded players most likely will not be looking for). Other than that, I thought this was a great and informative video!
Alexander Tu bossing in shadower is decent trickblade is so good on both doing bursting dmg and mobbing , even can save you from 1 hit ko , you just need a good control and stacking wounds after 3 stack you dont need to hit the boss with assassinate just do the finisher animation then hit trickblade you will instantly teleport to the boss and do 1400% x7 and invincible for 2s cd is short only 10s if you don't understand just look on random youtube videos
Hero- Absolutely abysmal nightmare class to raise to lv200 due to extremely short range of raging blow Shadower- I get cancer whenever I do boomerang step because of its attack end delay Fire/Poison: One of the worst mobber class
Very helpful video. I have a question, does the reboot server have the same amount of events and co-op as the main ones? Im getting a pc soon and im going to play maplestory again after 4 years :)
Sojiniee also, there are still many players around in reboot right? Im afraid the different areas of the game may be dead and as a result ill be bored af without any interaction whatsoever
Because top mobbing would usually end up having Luminous being in first place. I mean, who doesn't like sitting there holding down 1 button and still take out the entire map?
Kris Pham Yes and no. Yes because you chose a really strong class if you decide to fund it. No because it's hard to fund yourself as a dual blade. If you want to fund yourself, make a Kanna :) at least that's what I heard people do in Reboot.
Kris Pham Funding means to be able to make yourself stronger through the use of mesos spent wisely. You could have 30b and still be weak if you wasted your mesos. At level 90, I would just suggest training until level 150, and getting all the base recommended items (cra, gollux, etc)
Is luminous a good class? I current have one at lvl 166 I funded it a little but dmg is still Low at 160k !! How do I get my range to be higher without funding.
uhm the only classes on this list that are good unfunded is aran ds lumi and da rest of the classes require alot of funding to do remotely decent and most mentiond are late game bossers opinion or not your wrong and this video is very misleading for new players
Blue Snow I want to know too xDD Recording Maplestory let's me upscale to 1920 x 1080 (video wise) . I still have to play the game in Windowed mode at the largest resolution that is provided.
Patrick Lum Oooooh Buccaneers are fun. You get to transform into a Super Saiyan! At this point, it's up to you. They're both great in terms of damage and mobbing. Mobility, I would give it to Wind Archer.
Patrick Lum If you want to choose a unfunded class to main, just play them all, because that way you'll find that one class you will stick with for a long time.
I feel like DA is slightly misrepresented and discredited in this video and that you made a couple of untrue comments about its skills and potential... Although it's not nearly as flashy as some of these classes, it still has decent mobbing potential with nether shields, demon frenzy(bleed 5th job), thousand swords(hyper), and lunar slash. DA also does a surprising amount of DPS and lines in most mid-lategame boss fights too with 8 lines from infernal exceed + exceeded execution and continuous lines from demon frenzy, not to mention that we get huge final damage boosts from staying at low health during frenzy (up to 33%, on top of the 20% gained from overload release). Having said that, blood feast(the other 5th job skill) is nothing compared to demon frenzy, it's rather lack luster. In my opinion, demon avengers rival arans in terms of early and mid-game funding, but they do fall off in the lategame only because of the 500k hp cap.
Well said indeed. Nether shield is definitely a great skill and Thousand Swords is amazing w/ a 8s cooldown, and you're right, they fall off late game. Yet, we need to consider that I was comparing the gameplay from an early game perspective. Arans have a very strong early to mid-game because of their multipliers & good passives. For newer players, picking DA is definitely not a bad choice, but they'll struggle to see that they need a good control on hp. Arans can simply swing their polearms without much worry for newer players, which is why I would strongly recommend Aran for newer players because their kit is more simple and diverse.
In general, all thief classes require a lot of funding to do damage. Night Lord & Night Walker are probably the more expensive classes out of the thieves because they require "throwing stars". I would suggest playing a class with a more well rounded kit such as Demon Slayer, Luminous, or Aran. These classes have great mobbing & damage as well as a healing skill for whenever you're in trouble. Night Lord also got hit with a wave of nerfs back a couple patches ago, so the current "throwing star" champion is Night Walker (just because of turret mode). However, Night Lord excels way above Night Walker in terms of mobbing!! So it's all up to you!! Hope this helps :)
Sojiniee I think I'm gonna play dual blades for now but any other classes(other than the list you provided) you recommend that can provide high damage without much funding. You see my problem is that I don't want to invest my time and effort in a class that can't even perform well. E.g.(bare in mind I don't know anything about hero's damage yet this is just for illustration) Say I spend 10m meso on a level 150 night walker AND I spend the exact amount of meso on the exact same level character but this time it's a night lord. I want to choose the best class most "worth it" So back to the topic any class you recommend that meets my requirements other than dual blades?
Carin Chow Dual Blades are good because they have access to kataras which give a good boost to damage. However, Dual Blades have low multipliers for their skills, which means low damage without any funding. I would still recommend the classes I mentioned previously because their kits are very well rounded.
Sojiniee OMG I love dual blades. But it seems likes I'm rather mana hungry. No problem for the health(one of the 3rd job skills gives health). How do you get the jr. Boogie familiar. I've been hunting for ages and cant seem to find it. Are familiars permantant? Are familiars pet? If you could answer those questions that would be very helpful. Thank you for recommending dual blades!
Classes that needs to be taken out -Kaiser, Xenon, Dual Blade, Battle Mage. Classes to replace them -Demon Avenger, Arch Mage (ice & lightning), Dawn Warrior, Cannonner. I have absolutely no idea how on earth you can put Kaiser in rank, but put Demon Avenger in honorable mention.
Sojinlee I came back to MS after 6 years about a year and a half ago, and Kaiser was the first class that I made. I raised it to lvl 205. I think I let it sink in more than enough. It's absolute crap unless very well funded. -Its dmg is absolute hell to raise as unfunded player. -Sword Strike's %dmg is not that great either. Even with jump shot enabled in the last patch, it still frustrating due to attack end delay -The gap between human form and Kaiser form is ridiculously huge, so you need to get buff duration ability -The command system to charge the morph gauge is so slow. Overall, it's pretty fun class as mid-fund players to play to fill union lv, but horrible class to play as unfunded player. I changed my main to dawn warrior and my god it's soooooo good. Seriously, how do you not have dawn warrior, arch mage (IL) and cannonner on the list man?
Cannoneer maybe since its good skill starts from 4th job. But DW is slow?? How? It basically has savage blow as 1st job main skill, and its 3rd job skill has area range of typical 4th job skills. Its 4th job mobbing skill might be on a bit slow, but it becomes good speed when used with DW's attack booster and extreme green potion.
Well at the end of the day, it's really based on different opinions and theres a huge problem with those two classes. They're both quite Mana Hungry, and even a Jr. Boogie might only save you a little bit of mana potions, but you're still probably going to need to buy them. Theres many factors in this case to evaluate each class. So while you may have correct facts, there may be other factors that change how each class is evaluated. Yes, I should've put DA in the list, but then they'll always be in the list at the #1 spot. Sometimes other classes need a chance in the spotlight.
Jr. Boogie familiar is a "pet" that follows you around and attacks things and gives certain bonuses while you have it out! You can get it by defeating them, left one map of Perion!
At the end of the day, if you want to main a class, you will need to fund that class. Battle Mages don't require much funding until after lvl 200 though.
Mehmed Cavas Aran was op when he got his major rework. He (kinda) became a new class on his revamp, so you could also say that aran was broken on the release of his current version.
Just passing through
1. Aran
Honorable Mention : Demon Avenger, Paladin, Shade
2. Luminous
3. Battle Mage
4. Demon Slayer
5. Dual Blade
6. Xenon
7. Illium
8. Cadena
9. Kaiser
10. Angelic Buster
Thanks dogmeat
Thank you
illium sucks needs charger
Ty
i thought db need a lot of money to be good
I am really hapoy that you added angelic buster , so many youtubers never add her into a class list even though the class gets a really strong damage boost through nodes and spotlight.
I think I learned more about the Jr. Boogie familiar than anything else ;)
Nicely done.
A side note, I've been playing Aran since they were released and I can say that the whole "carpal tunnel" thing is exaggerated
It totally is now that Blaster came out.
Haha,, for sure!
Not if you have played rhythm games such as osu
I "click" with a controller on OSU too. o.o
Same here
Don't really play much maplestory anymore but I always check out videos like these just to see where the game is currently standing. Great video man, you definitely deserve more subscribers. Keep it up and I'm sure they'll rake in. This was very well done. One tip I would give you though is to just lower the music a tiny bit so we can hear your voice more clearly. Cheers!
I'm glad you appreciate the hard work I put in! Thanks for the tip too!
subbed
kinda miss maple
so i decided to redownload and start a new chara
keep up the good work :D
Roland MY Welcome back to Maple! Haha thanks :)
thanks and you're welcome :D
@@rolandmy8797 u play in reboot?
Great video! Love the Bboom Bboom music in the background :)
That was actually done by DooPiano! Go check his stuff out :)
I know this vid was made before the DPM chart came out and can clearly see it says "unfunded" but playin on Reboot kinda beats the purpose of unfunded so hopefully you can make a future video based on the dpm chart classes and why they are considered in that order of ranking. thank you for your hard work

I'm an Aran/xenon main and I'll tell ya Aran is Def my favorite. Suppppperrr fun to play
ds best for unfunded, they have infernal which can 1 hit petris without a use of a mastery book, and their vengence gives full hp bar for bossing...
I love that BBoom BBoom piano
Me toooooooo
Great job. A well made video that shows the class and pros and cons.
Thanks!!
Aran’s combo mechanics were annoying for a while until I switched from keyboard to my Xbox controller. Definitely worth the level of fun I’ve experienced with Aran. Thanks for the vid and best to you!
I switched from Keyboard to PS3 Controller for Aran. Ha.
What the fuck how!?
Maplestory detects the main keys on the controller, but bumper keys aren't really detected for "my" PS3 controller. So I had to use JoytoKey to make it work. You set it up accordingly to your skills.
is this common? I haven't played the game since 2008 and I would like to return. I was considering dual blader but maybe I'll try Battle mage since I like to party
It's not really common anymore because Aran's combos are a lot easier to land now. BaM is a great choice :)
You're absolutely correct :)
Just noticed the piano is playing MOMOLAND - BBOOM BBOOM lol. Noooiceee m8!
Delaney In Yeah! It was played by DooPiano!! Do search him up for more piano covers!
Old video, but Shadowers are one of the BEST classes unfunded. Even better than dual blades imo.
Yeah, they're a solid class. I'm just biased because I main Dual Blade :)
seventeen thanks ooo good taste in music fam
CanadianMapleTea Hehe thanks! Glad you like it :)
love boom boom momoland background music
Your videos are freaking awesome!
Bor Mik Thanks! Glad you like it!
That boom boom piano instrumental tho
genex I know, it's so good!
Sojiniee aye a fellow kpop fan !
genex Yeah~~
ahhh hearing to kpop piano bgms in maplestory videos :')
hey mate i have just start up again on maple, i have a 147 shade which i have start to find boring, i am leveling a luminous as in your list you placed it 2nd for best unfunded. i have 2 questions , 1: i like archers, what would be a good archer class to go that would be best to level unfunded 2: now this also helps with 1, what is the definition of funded, like how much mesos do i need?
1. I would suggest Wind Archer or Wild Hunter
*is that bboom bboom in the background*
Yep!
And summer rain. :3
I have a lvl 110 cadena rn and personally not a hard class to get used to, at times I get away with just spamming skills from using skills from current job skills or just the previous, the only skill that is used often is from 1st job where you grapple youreself is the most useful but fun class to play with and often not a class that doesn't get bored easy
wait till u reach lvl200. Cadena's mechanics is very hard to utilize during boss fights
Mẫn Trang Kanna is definitely a good class, but everyone just seems to abuse her kishin.
Sojiniee I think some people don't like Kanna cause it is a very easy class.
Mẫn Trang Maybe. She's not too mechanically difficult to master either.
I'm actually playing Mercedes for a little bit too. Their combos definitely takes some time to getting used to.
Good video. Just one question, isn't demon avenger a really good Dps class with the 5th job skill? That's what i heard from several high level players at least
Yes, but I was mainly focusing on the experience from level 1 - 200.
I would say, Aran!!
@@Sojiniee Thx i will now check what is the difference between the old school Aran that i know xD
@@Lccan1990 The fact that it's a lot easier to play now. The combos are easier to manage!
@@Sojiniee haha i remember the old Aran that makes my finger so pain cuz of spamming, damn miss the good old days
Hi Sojiniee sorry for bothering you again, just wanna ask u opinion on Aran Hyper stat, how to up the stat?
Battlemage unfunded is a nightmare to train.. have to kill 6 mobs in order to summon reaper. But damage is low, then u will summon much less often.
When I was recording the video, it was before the Illium buffs. Haven't really played Illium after the buff.
can u tell me what is AF? Thank you so much.
arcane force
the music in the background sounds like the piano vers of MOMOLAND- BBOOM BBOOM
You're right! It is the piano version of Momoland's Bboom Bboom!
I love my Dual Blade to death but it’s way too expensive to fund it. Working on my Luminous now. It’s only lv. 203 but with 13mil range. I’m kinda set with Reflection and Ender. I dunno, I might work on my DS next.
What are your equips for Lumi?
Who should I main for unfunded? Wind archer or Hero?? Which one is better in bossing and higher in damage?
If you're going to be playing Hero after 5th job (level 200+) then I would suggest playing that. Wind Archer isn't that great for bossing mainly because of the amount of buffs you have (every time you die, you have to recast them all). Heroes get pretty good damage whereas Wind Archers let you hold down 1 button and attack.
Wind Archer then!
Sojiniee so wind archer is stronger than hero before 5th job?
Hero's 5th job is stronger than Wind Archer. I recommend playing Wind Archer if you aren't going to play it past 5th job. Plus, you don't need to buy mastery books!
Sojiniee ok thanks
random but is the song being played in the video a piano version of "bboom bboom"? 😂
Yep! It is!
Hi. It's me again. Which one is stronger for unfunded, wind archer or fire poison Mage?
Patrick Lum I would still choose Wind Archer :D
Patrick Lum no problem!
Just downloaded ms after a 3 year break, phantom was my highest character ever at 224, I loved luminous and db was very interesting
Dquan Porzel They're very good classes!!
+Sojiniee I’m so anxious lol, I had to make a new nexon account tho 😩 oh well I think I’m gonna start with all the heroes first, idk about shade though
Dquan Porzel Good choice. The Heroes are very solid classes
how do you get the Lion Dance Hat (Purple/Orange)? I would like to get it for my Character too :(
JosCs Unfortunately, you can't get that hat anymore. It was part of the Nyesn's Revenge event during the Chinese New Year Event.
Bam or paladin or mihile yooo, ill choose what u pick to play bck maple
I would say... BaM if you have funds (int gear is expensive), paladin if you want to play support warrior, mihile for solo warrior.
i would actually add WA to the honorable mention, just because how easy they are to play, how cheap they are overall, and since they have really good mobility, but i do agree with most of the list
thx alot :)
Are phantoms hard to fund? I have over 800m on my account but I want to start a new character from scratch on reboot since my world is really... dead. (Windia)
CM ThaGod Phantoms are hard to find because most of their skills have a low multiplier.
Ayyyy, love the vid man! +1
Great video :D btw, im a casual player looking to reinstall MS, I'm thinking of dual blade (i like playing solo and dealing high damage). But i dont plan to use real money (other than pet). Is this a good idea if i use my mesos carefully? is it hard/very expensive to get good equipments?
92Hanako If you plan on being a free to play player, then be prepared to invest a lot of TIME!!! The equipment will come eventually!
Ah ic! thanks! I'll try my best! :D
Hi again! In your video you mention jr boogie familiar. Where do we find it? Is it still available in maple now? I can’t seem to find any guide :( thanks! Dual blade burns mana quite abit haha.
92Hanako Go one map left of Perion!! You'll find Jr. Boogies there!
Sojiniee yes but how do u actually get the familiar? I kept hitting it but nothing happened, and there’s not quest or anything >
thank you now its ttime to lv up my little cousin
I used to play with Zero it's very overpowered in both bossing and normal monsters!!
But you can only play Zero in Regular servers... Rip reboot players that want to play zero.
It's true because DA's get range from TWO main stats!! STR and HP!! So that's why they're easier to fund!! Definitely a noob-friendly class!
Good point! I totally missed that :)
Well.. I'd say mercedes is now one of the strongest unfunded characters in maplestory.
I feed zero deserve to be in one of the top 10.... best mobility in all the warrior class, very good sustain due to combo assist has bind at 5th job and are not bad on both bossing and mobing (just before lv180 is weak)
True, but what about Reboot? They don't have Zeros xDD
This is the part i am so sad of.... T.T
what is the background song called??
First song is: GFRIEND - Summer Rain
Second song is : MOMOLAND - Bboom Bboom
Third Song is: SEVENTEEN - Thanks
How is FP mage in term of funding and progressing? I hear they are strong unfunded or funded regardless.
They're great in terms of DPS. So if you like doing a lot of damage in a short amount of period, they're awesome!
This might help :)
ayumilovemaple.wordpress.com/2009/09/06/maplestory-attack-speed-reference/
Is cannoneer a good character for bossing and mobbing if unfunded? Or wind archer
I would choose Wind Archer :)
Sojiniee why not cannoneer?
Because you have to wait until 5th job until things become interesting. Your main attacking skill is slow unless you hit attack speed cap which may be difficult because you're going to need every possible way to get to the speed cap. Wind Archer doesn't need as much.
Sojiniee what's speed cap and how to get
This may help~

whats the first piano piece in the back?
GFRIEND - Love Whisper covered by DooPiano!
Very good video👌
cadena, "GOOD DAMAGE"
i'm returning to maplestory after many years, can someone suggest me which classes are best for someone who needs to relearn the game ?
Djezzflezzert Try out Demon Slayer!
Djezzflezzert same, after many years, about to reinstall it
same
isn't kaiser also a high-funded character?
Zephyr 93 It is, but still fun to play regardless.
wait, Lumi is good at bossing now? good, now i can play him finally
Lumi was always decent at bossing because of Ender giving 100% crit and a lot of lines
huh, is this new?! i dont know too much about Lumi, but i remember most videos saying that they were bad at bossing due to low lines in comparison to some harder hitters (At the time) with better scaling and more lines. THis is great, im going to start Lumi this summer!
Yeah! Lumi's are now really good!
Super boring but at the time was a much better bosser it seemed to also not require as much funding
Actually now that I think about it I think it was someone asking ZeroByDivide , forgot how he answered.
Jeff Cho He should’ve added Shadower, since Boomerang Step does like 750% dmg per attack or something. It’s just bossing is garbage on a Shad.
as well as buccaneer, who has great mobbing and is rather easy
and as a main shad youre correct he deals loads of dmg early on (although abit slow)
Shadower is the same type as FP mage atk spd is slow compare to other job but with high burst dmg and requires alot skill to amplify dmg
Hero- Absolutely abysmal nightmare class to raise to lv200 due to extremely short range of raging blow
Shadower- I get cancer whenever I do boomerang step because of its attack end delay
Fire/Poison: One of the worst mobber class
"Demon Avenger's 5th job is probably the worst in the game" I don't think you have seen mechanic's 5th job xdddd
Is wind archer good for unfunded?
ΕηηαᎡᎠ Ꭲhe Mapler Yes! Wind Archers are very good!
Sojiniee
Finally! I've always wanted wind archers. Many of my friends say it's a bad class. I've always wanted a decent archer class.
ΕηηαᎡᎠ Ꭲhe Mapler Wind Archers are easy to play too!
Sojiniee
Also. Are thunder breakers good for unfunded too?
ΕηηαᎡᎠ Ꭲhe Mapler They're pretty good actually. They have good attacks with a lot of lines of damage!
Very helpful video. I have a question, does the reboot server have the same amount of events and co-op as the main ones? Im getting a pc soon and im going to play maplestory again after 4 years :)
Yes, the events will be the same. In terms of co-op, party quests are dead except for Dragon Rider PQ (for the codex).
Sojiniee also, there are still many players around in reboot right? Im afraid the different areas of the game may be dead and as a result ill be bored af without any interaction whatsoever
Yes, Reboot currently is pretty much the most populated server right now.
So how come people always make top unfunded/top dps videos but never stuff like top mobbing? Maybe I am not interested in bossing :(
Because top mobbing would usually end up having Luminous being in first place. I mean, who doesn't like sitting there holding down 1 button and still take out the entire map?
what is the 1st piano song you used??
GFRIEND - Summer Rain played by DooPiano :)
Here's the link! ua-cam.com/video/1EDThWjNxOI/v-deo.html
I just made a dual Blade in reboot and I have absolutely no funding. Was this a good idea?
Kris Pham Yes and no. Yes because you chose a really strong class if you decide to fund it. No because it's hard to fund yourself as a dual blade. If you want to fund yourself, make a Kanna :) at least that's what I heard people do in Reboot.
Sojiniee by funding do you just mean like having a lot of meso? And if so how do you get good things with meso like LVL 90+?
Kris Pham Funding means to be able to make yourself stronger through the use of mesos spent wisely. You could have 30b and still be weak if you wasted your mesos. At level 90, I would just suggest training until level 150, and getting all the base recommended items (cra, gollux, etc)
Sojiniee okay thank you
Is luminous a good class? I current have one at lvl 166 I funded it a little but dmg is still Low at 160k !! How do I get my range to be higher without funding.
You should watch my Tips and Tricks guide to gaining range then!! There are some useful tips in that video!
What are the same of the piano tracks used
First song is: GFRIEND - Summer Rain
Second song is : MOMOLAND - Bboom Bboom
Third Song is: SEVENTEEN - Thanks
uhm the only classes on this list that are good unfunded is aran ds lumi and da rest of the classes require alot of funding to do remotely decent and most mentiond are late game bossers opinion or not your wrong and this video is very misleading for new players
I got my luminous to 1mill range, but his moves still do like 6-10 mill per line and I’m bitter as fuuuu
Range takes time to build up. Keep at it!!!
Im a beginner which character should i get ?
Gorazd Vukanovski just try a class that you find interesting. All classes start becoming the same afterwards.
illium lose out to lumi, lumi just need reflection, illium need move crystals and can only attack afterwards so slow
This Game is still alive right if it's alive i'll play it if not then i'll think about it
Somewhat alive. A majority of the players are waiting for MapleStory 2 to officially release!
When do you think will it release? i can wait :x i missed this game it's like my childhood game
Satania Devil King They haven't said much about the release date, but there's a second beta test!
Alright Thanks for the replies i'll be waiting for the Release and Hope it's good as my Expectation ^^
how to play in 1920x1080?
Blue Snow I want to know too xDD Recording Maplestory let's me upscale to 1920 x 1080 (video wise) . I still have to play the game in Windowed mode at the largest resolution that is provided.
Should I main buccaneer or wind archer for unfunded?
Patrick Lum Oooooh Buccaneers are fun. You get to transform into a Super Saiyan! At this point, it's up to you. They're both great in terms of damage and mobbing. Mobility, I would give it to Wind Archer.
Sojiniee ok thanks
Patrick Lum If you want to choose a unfunded class to main, just play them all, because that way you'll find that one class you will stick with for a long time.
Sojiniee ok thank you so much
kaiser cons is still need to pot for bossing, good for mobbing for maps like singapore...
So other characters must rely on Aran’s link skill, right?
If you like collecting those Combo Orbs, yes. Every little bit of EXP helps in the long run :)
Sojiniee Thank you:)
Is that Momoland - Bboom Bboom in Piano?
Yep! It's the piano version of Bboom Bboom played by DooPiano!
I think Illium is just generally not that good at anything, it's bossing especially is pretty bad.
Fair point. I just thought it might have potential seeing that it's mobbing ability is quite decent.
Josh Wang from what ive seen on google, excess hp past the 500k mark still gets converted to damage. Not sure if its true or not
Yeah i realized that when i watched a couple videos and streams, the excess hp is still included in damage calculations.
Remove the hitbox con on Kaiser CUS GETTING BUFFED
Why do u call the hero they like it either he or she
Good question. I don't really know why.
@@Sojiniee LOL
Is Ark worth playing ?
Ark is pretty good when it comes to Mobbing, not quite sure about bossing. There may be some good potential though.
what happen to kanna
SuperDunkerJyun Kanna's are the representative class for Meso Farming :D
Summer rain 😙
Just started playing but is night lord hard to play unfunded?
Sojiniee wow....thanks for the detailed response
Sojiniee I think I'm gonna play dual blades for now but any other classes(other than the list you provided) you recommend that can provide high damage without much funding. You see my problem is that I don't want to invest my time and effort in a class that can't even perform well.
E.g.(bare in mind I don't know anything about hero's damage yet this is just for illustration)
Say I spend 10m meso on a level 150 night walker
AND
I spend the exact amount of meso on the exact same level character but this time it's a night lord.
I want to choose the best class most "worth it"
So back to the topic any class you recommend that meets my requirements other than dual blades?
How about Kinesid and marksman
Classes that needs to be taken out
-Kaiser, Xenon, Dual Blade, Battle Mage.
Classes to replace them
-Demon Avenger, Arch Mage (ice & lightning), Dawn Warrior, Cannonner.
I have absolutely no idea how on earth you can put Kaiser in rank, but put Demon Avenger in honorable mention.
Burnt maybe you just need to let kaiser sink in a little bit. There's a really strong potential in Kaiser.
Even with jump shot enabled in the last patch, it still frustrating due to attack end delay
-The gap between human form and Kaiser form is ridiculously huge, so you need to get buff duration ability
-The command system to charge the morph gauge is so slow.
I might have put I/L in the list. I'm not quite sure about DW and Cannoneer since those two classes feel quite slow.
Been thinking about Hayato.
Siah Compahinay Not a bad class, just need to learn the mechanics and combos :)
Sojiniee How about its funding?
Siah Compahinay it'll need some funding to help you make getting to lvl 200 easier. Otherwise it might be a difficult.
Thank You so much for the reply. Helps a lot. Been thinking for a while of what to main Aran or Hayato.
Siah Compahinay No problem! Hayato is fun especially at 5th job.
What's Jr.Boogle familiar?
Jr. Boogie familiar is a "pet" that follows you around and attacks things and gives certain bonuses while you have it out! You can get it by defeating them, left one map of Perion!
Do battle mages need a lot of funding?
At the end of the day, if you want to main a class, you will need to fund that class. Battle Mages don't require much funding until after lvl 200 though.
except BM and Aran all of them were op when they released
Mehmed Cavas Aran was op when he got his major rework. He (kinda) became a new class on his revamp, so you could also say that aran was broken on the release of his current version.
