@@Skibidibobobeebop I have been a landscaper for over a decade. That's actually very accurate.
That's about the average price for lawns where I live. Depending on a few details about the lawns, the prices are usually about $40-$60 for each lawn. Sometimes more if they have a big lawn.
Also, there are an astonishing amount of people who are willing to pay that amount.
      You would be very surprised.
I don't think that there's a single lawn that I mow that costs less than $40.

@@mcgee1864 yep landscaper here too and I was gonna say, $50 dollars is not only normal but on the cheaper side. My boss and I have a ton of year round weekly properties here in Georgia and they are dormant all winter and nothing grows. No weeds, grass, edging, hedges. This time of year, December through mid-March, we literally walk the property with a blower on my back and don’t blow any leaves just blow
The patio and front porch and driveway off (literally just dust / dirt) and we’re gone in less than 2 minutes. And they still pay the year round fee, and it’s usually no less than $60 a week, average is about $75-80 and some are even $100+. When you are established at being good at what you do, people will pay a premium for your work and your time no matter how little, just knowing they can trust you to be dependable with their yard and simply knowing that you will come every single week all year round and take care of anything and everything that may need to be done.

Landscaper here too, you’re absolutely right! I have year round customers who are weekly and pay anywhere from $60 on the low end all the way to well over $100+ a week even in the winter when I literally just blow off the front porch and back patio and leave in TWO MINUTES. Of course, they end up getting their moneys-worth in the summer grow season, but it doesn’t matter because the fee I charge is year round and doesn’t change, it’s in the contract and A lot of them simply have their card on file with me so it just automatically charges their bank each week, no hassle.

@@jayzayproductions5454 yeah, that's definitely a solid way to do it.
      1. Have contracts!
      2. Have customers credit/debit cards on file so you never have to wait to get paid!!
Very good way to go about that!!
Man, some customers are just a huge pain in the ass to collect from. I shouldn't have to ask more than once or constantly ask time after time...
I've heard some customer horror stories fr other landscaper buddies and one guy had to actually sue the customer because he was 2 or 3 months behind on his payments...
Went to court, the customer paid him, then STILL wanted to keep him on as his landscaper and my buddy was actually cool with that and continued to keep him as a customer!!!
That's insane!!! If he was going to pay in the end, then why waste the time of going to court?
That, plus the fact that with that track record, I would never trust him to pay on time again and I wouldn't want to go to court twice for the same customer.
I think he should have just dropped that customer after he got paid...

      @@jayzayproductions5454 I've got a question because I'm kinda curious!
Do you offer any kind of a discount if your customers pay in advance? Like if they pay for 3 months, 6 months, or the whole year in advance, do you knock off a few bucks or a certain percentage?
If so, do you have any customers who have taken you up on that deal and signed a contract to pay you for the whole year upfront?!?!

For a person thats doing lawn mowing the 1st time, I recommend to practice mowing lawns before already going out and trying to mow lawns already...next thing u know, u don't want a customer to tell u not to come back because u screwed up there lawn not knowing how to mow laws...
2nd advice, is that you want to find a lawn that isn't too BIG or isn't tooo small. The reason why is cause u wanna charge the right price for the amount of work you would be doing. (Big lawns= more money) and sometimes looking in peoples backyards is not bad at all. The reason why im saying that us cause you'll save yourself a new blade and a hell of a time. (Some backyard a lot bigger then the front by a lot) but hey more of a mess in the backyard, you can charge a lot more due to youd be hitting a lot of stuff in the backyard with ur blade and lawn mower which can cause damage to ur stuff for u to repair PLUS GAS for your lawn care Equipment.
3rd Advice is, if you see a small or big dirt patch on a person's lawn and you don't want to put breath in smoke. Use the customers water and put a little bit of water to wet the dirt patch from you breathing in dust. dust is also your enemy to you and your lawn mower and equipment. Wetting a patch of dirt will not harm your equipment and will save you from breathing in dirt. If a customer asks you why you use there water system, tell them that you did it to save yourself from breathing in the dust and harming your equipment..
Last advice is set up a Biweeklt mowing schedule for 2-4 houses and keep them as customers have the 2-4 customers a different week from each other so that every week you'll be getting paid or every other week you'll be paid like week 2 of the month and week 3 of the month as well or separate all the 4 houses for different weeks for you to be getting that weekly paychecks
Know your price and your work on how well you do it for charging people, when I was doing it I charged $40 for decent sized lawns and $60 for the big lawns and I would keep it that way. If you find those BIG lawns for $60 each snd the 4 houses thats $240- expenses like
    Gas for whereever u live
    Weedeater string for edging
And a lawn mower fixer or unless you fix your own lawn mower.
And a lead blower would help!!
(Me personally would blow the the grass back into the lawn cuz blowing it on the streets is "considered rude" in my opinion.
Eventually you will have enough money to get a bigger lawnmower thats more powerful and it would also have the FWD option to help you with those tough lawns.
So if you want to do a lawn mowing business get
1.A lawn mower that actually works
    2. Weedeater with string that also works
3.a weedeater gas can and lawn mower gas can (weedeater gas can will take a little bit of oil in there gas and lawn mower won't take oil in there gas)
    4. A electric leaf blower with multiple batters (more then 2 batteries) so just in case u decide u forget to charge tbose up) the eletric leaf blower will be the only eletric lawn equipment you will have.
Depending on yalls budgets, look off of Facebook marketplace or sometimes going to your local home depot or lowes to get a gas lawn mower and weedeater or go to Walmart for a gas weedeater (get the cheapest option cuz your budget might be low to my understanding)
IF Your family has those already but no eletric leaf blower, your in luck you'll only need to get 1 thing or only a few things which would cost you less but yeah happy mowing

I pay 160$ a month for lawn care that’s 4 mows a month (1 a week). 40$ a visit. They are here about 20 minutes or so, 1/2 acre lot. Actual grass area is around 1/3 of the lot. 2-3 guys show up to do it. They also do my neighbors yards to, so 3 houses next to each other.

Just so everyone knows, in a lot of communities you are required to get a license to knock on doors like that or you will get fined. In order to get a license, you need to have a registered business with your state which is fairly cheap for a simple LLC but should definitely be considered if you plan on doing this legally.
Another thing he didn’t take into consideration was some expenses like the printer to print flyers. The ink on the flyers, and taxes (I’m guessing he probably won’t be claiming those profits on his taxes).
Also, if he isn’t lying then he got very lucky in this neighborhood. I’d say a good conversion rate from knocking on doors to actually making a sale is probably around 5-10%. So expect to be walking a lot of miles at the beginning to make sales and pay yourself accordingly. For example, if you walk around for 3 hours to make 1 sale of $50 then take out some profits for expenses and taxes, it really isn’t worth it. You will also be walking a lot of miles to make sales. In my neighborhood, with my step counter counting my steps, I walked about 6-8 miles for every 100 houses I went to.
And this is not to mention the fact that he’s a young decent looking dude. This helps in sales because people are more willing to help him out because he looks like he’s just strapped for cash and not doing it professionally. If you’re an ugly person then expect to make less sales (just reality I know it sucks). Also, people are much less kind to actual businesses that do it professionally versus someone that looks like they just need some quick cash or some help like this guy.
If you plan on doing this professionally or even legally, I recommend taking all of these things into consideration.

You don’t need a license to knock on doors 😂😂😂 🤡 maybe in your city, but every city and state is different goofball, that’s like saying Christian’s need a license to knock on your door to tell you about Jesus. WRONG!
