To quote Bob Ross "There are no mistakes but happy little accidents." The similar color on the furniture and walls made the furniture shrink into the walls. It allowed more breathing room for decor choices.

I've seen "farmhouse" looks that encompass everything from A to Z, so anyone who thinks that there is only ONE way to do farmhouse is wrong. The primary goal of any decorating/designing should be to please ourselves and make ourselves not only happy with out our surroundings look but how they function for us and the comfort they provide, both physical and emotional. Never let anyone tell you that your look is "all wrong" because they're not you, they don't live there, and frankly, they're rude!

My goodness...it is refreshing to see someone do a beautiful job and not pretend they are a professional. Showing your frustrations and "mistakes" and how you work with it and overcome obstacles instead of editing and pretending everything is professional and smooth was very inspiring and lovely!

the first thing i thought when i saw the room with furniture was wow the room looks bigger due to blending in. the only thing i would think about doing is looking for a rug with say white and black in it to go at the foot of the bed but that isn't really necessary....good job.
We already have carpet in the room and I was on a strict budget, so I decided not to try to fit in a rug lol

Honey, don’t let rude people get you down. Whatever you like is good for you. As someone who has lived seventy years in a REAL farmhouse, I can tell you, no self respecting farmer would EVER intentionally distress their furniture. They also loved clean lines and nice furniture. Pretty paint, wall paper, decor and furniture was the desired look. I’m really sorry to hear about your back injury. You don’t move like someone with a terrible back problem, so hopefully it has healed well for you. Hopefully you will never need pain meds on a regular basis. Good luck with it. I am working my way through your videos, so you will see a rash of comments all of a sudden. I am enjoying watching you transform your lovely home.

Megan, the furniture looks great with the wall color. It is slightly darker than the walls. You nailed it! It looks warm and cozy like a bedroom should look. Enjoy your space.
I honestly think the color of the walls and furniture was the best plan of all given the amount of furniture in the room. When I saw it outside I thought that the number of pieces was excessive for the size room. When you were done it felt perfectly balanced. I love doing different shades of the same color because it really adds to the flow of the color. I could tell the difference in the color from the walls and the furniture even on camera. You could pick out another shade of grey to paint frames of pictures or spray paint a vase. That even completes things even better. Congrats on your smart subconscious that helped you come up with plan that a decorator might have encouraged you to do with slot of furniture in a room!!!

Well done, Meghan on your DIY master bedroom makeover. The light gray chalk paint goes nicely with bedroom wall paint color. You thought it might turn into an "oops!" with there not being enough contrast in the room. But I think it looks simple and elegant. As you said, it actually makes the room appear larger. The eye flows smoothly around the room taking in all the elements without any one object demanding attention. I encourage you to ignore the critics. This is Meghan's version of Farmhouse and it's very nice. Love your enthusiasm and spirit!

The end result looks awesome! I love how you just repainted your furniture rather than buying new pieces and went to thrift stores. I did that a lot for my room makeover video, and it's so much more satisfying to know that it's your own hard work and you probably cannot find a piece exactly like yours anywhere! I hand created my own faux stone accent wall in my video and haven't been more proud of myself and those who helped!
It definitely is very rewarding to be able to repurpose things & DIY instead of throwing them out & spending a fortune on new 🤗

Looks great! Love the colors. Don't worry about what other people say do what works for you. I think original "farmhouse" style started out with people using what they had especially on little or no budget and many times hand-me-downs. It would be boring if everybody did exactly the same thing. What make sit special is putting your own touch on it like using your wedding flowers and the cute framed art above the bed. Love the striped throw pillows.

As you were bringing your furniture back into your bedroom, I noticed that the colour choice was actually going to work better. Now your bedroom looks so much bigger and more sophisticated with the mono colour on the walls and furniture. Great job!

Lull changed my life!
I kept getting ads for it on Instagram and looked into it. I was in a car accident in college which caused a lot of shoulder and back issues then pregnancy gave me lasting sciatica. I went through 3 pillow top mattresses and nothing helped. Lull had great reviews so I planned to get one but before I could my dad gifted it to me. I have never slept better in my life than I have on my lull mattress. My dad laid on mine for a short time to see if he liked it and ended up ordering one for himself. My friend slept over and after one night ordered herself a lull mattress. I recommend it to everyone I can because it truly is life changing for those with back issues.
