marigolds reseed themselves at the end of the season. So when they dry to their seed state pull them off and pull the seed out to save for next year so no more do you have to buy them. It is very therapeutic to do. I love doing it for myself.

    Love this video.
    1. You can do the paint cheaper if you use spray paint. I did it on my shutters and it looks just as good. My door is red so I bought a small can to do the door. I also bought a peep hole for $11 and it was super easy to put in.
    2. Be careful with mulch. It holds bugs - spiders and roaches. But I like the marigold idea, I may try it.
    3. Thank you for the idea about the bushes - using the car to pull them. I actually was gonna try a chain saw lol. I haven’t done my bushes just yet.
    4. My porch furniture is all used and free. Shop home first - like you suggested.
    5. If you don’t wanna pressure wash your stairs, buy cement paint. It’s not expensive and it looks pretty good - I think so.
Thank you for your awesome video - I’ve been doing my diy porch for the last few weekends. My porch is longer of course and I’m also replacing porch posts (which is why it’s taking so long) but we diy that too.

I love that you did this on a budget! Something I love to do is shop plants at the end of the season, a few years ago we bought all new shrubs and flowers for in front of the house . . . super cheap!! I remember picking them out and it was freezing outside and there was little to choose from. lol Most of the (expensive flowers that I would never spend money on) in my (6) flower beds came off the clearance rack for 25 to 75 cents each..... I just check out the shelf to see what they have, bring it home, plant it and cross my fingers. LOL But I never lost any of them, they just needed some love, if they died, I wasn't out huge money. They have all grown and I have devided them many times now over the last 13 years and the flower beds are full, too full!! I have had to take out and throw away.....nobody ever wants flowers.
Looks great! It feels good to update the front of the house . . . ours is still in progress and we started a couple years ago..... just never got around to finishing it. LOL This has inspired me to get it done though!! Thanks for sharing!! :O)

looks good. think about those cement tiles you can get at the garden center at wal mart or home depot to make stepping stones to your sitting area, that way you won't track in dirt.

So pretty..looks so refreshing. The black changes the front of the house. Have you thought about using black electrical tape to cover the white parts on the windows to give you that black window effect? I wish i had those type of windows so i can try to see how it looks.

Looks amazing! You guys both did such a great job. I love the yellow flowers it makes everything pop and look fresh. Careful with the black mulch, its hard to see black snakes since they kinda blend in with the mulch. We learned that the hard way. You inspired me to pot some more flowers around my house. 🌸
