      Amen, great comparison!
The definition of mediator is used in a deceiving way. Only Jesus is the mediator between men and God. So if Jesus lives in you, Jesus is still the mediator by the Holy Spirit. You are not a Co-Mediator, you are only a vessel to Gods Glory.
To try to construct a contradiction in evangelic position to use the term co-mediator, which is not in the bible, and has no scriptural base, is a product of human pride and arrogance, and it’s so ridiculous, that even a 6 grader should be able to discern the difference between the mediating cause and the dispensable but an interchangeable and pivileged factor such as the obedient disciple cooperating through the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the presence within Him.
Ireneus definition of the Glory of God is defective. It should be: The Glory of God is the active and living Holy Spirit within or without a believer. The Glory of God can reveal himself acting through a vessel like a disciple. The Glory of God is the HOLY SPIRIT, God himself. Be aware and be warned not to mock God.
Jesus wants to use us as servants, as friend. There is only one Jesus Christ. There is only one Glory of God, the Holy Spirit. Grasp it. You're not a God and not a Co-God, and not a Co-Glory. You are just the messenger, the ambassador. Humble yourself, take down your pride, man of sin and live in Christ and in his truth.

@@jaysonb.6669 (Sorry for the long comment, but it should clear up your concerns :) To preface this comment, I will say: Catholics do not worship the saints/Mary, Catholics do not believe they are replacing Christ-as no one can-and Catholics do not believe that they will save us, or that they are equal to Jesus. With that said...
This is not a sufficient argument. For one, there is no passage in scripture that says the "dead" _can't_ hear us/can't pray for us (whether we ask them or not), but it _does_ say they are _alive in Christ_ (for those that followed Him). Secondly, it is explicitly stated that we are members of the mystical body of Christ and thus have-or should have-concern for the spiritual well-being of others (1 Cor. 12:25-26). It would be illogical to assume that those in heaven are suddenly detached from the Body of Christ after death.
"The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” - 1Cor. 12:21
Hence, I can't see why God wouldn't allow anyone in heaven to pray for those in need on earth. Even St. Thérèse of Lisieux once said, "How unhappy I shall be in heaven if I cannot do little favors for those whom I love… Yes, I want to spend my heaven in doing good on earth.." Why would God not grant her this request, she's only changing location?
And that's the thing, location doesn't matter for prayer, because as we all know, prayer transcends space.
This is how I'd ask a friend for prayers: "Hey Bob, I'm struggling with my temper, could you please pray for me?"
Asking a saint: "Hey St. Jerome, I'm struggling with my temper, could you please pray for me?"
No difference. Hence, both participants go to Jesus with their prayers in asking to help me with my struggle. None of them take the focus off of God, in fact, we are actually glorifying Jesus in His death and resurrection, by which He made Himself a mediator for _all_ prayers to reach the Father though Him. Furthermore, in James 5:16 it states, "The prayer of a righteous person has great power in it's effects." Quite obviously, those in heaven are righteous, which is why their prayers are powerful, because there is unlimited time to do it, no distractions, and complete love for God and His will.
Not only that, you seem to think that we _can't_ "Use the opportunity to also praise God" by petitioning the saints...? We do, it has always brought me closer to God.
To conclude, praying to the saints/Mary is not a deviation from the divine, but a partaking in God's plan of salvation for all.
      I hope this helps :)

Did you know that she ascended into heaven? Oh, yes. I think they use the word "assumed", but you get the idea. Did you know she is the Queen of Heaven, even though there is no scriptures for that? The woman in Rev. ch. 12 is not Mary. It is symbolic of Israel. Did you know that she can hear the prayers of everyone on Earth? Oh, yes. @@rickrogers4744 *_Praying for you._*
Just curious did you actually pray for what she asked you to pray for? Because based on your following anti-Catholic rants it sure seems more likely you prayed that she would blindly follow your personal interpretations of the Bible.
*_Remember that Mary was sinless, even though the Bible says all have sinned._*
You are pointing to Romans 3:23. If you would actually read what Paul wrote in context, instead of trying to cherry pick single verses, you would have understood that the major context of Romans 1-4 is Paul dealing with Jews who are trying to claim that Gentiles also need to follow the Law of Moses as well as being Christian. So when Paul writes "for all have sinned" he is making a comparison between these two groups of people (Jewish Christians and Gentile Christians).
It is obvious that Paul is using hyperbole here to drive his point home. We read later in Romans, where Paul appeals to the case of Jacob and Esau and speaks of the time when “they were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad” (Rom. 9:11). Paul therefore recognizes that unborn children have not yet committed personal sin, making them an exception to the “ALL have sinned” you claim he meant. I'm sure you would also agree that Paul doesn't believe Jesus sinned or how about babies? If your right and ALL can only mean ALL doesn't that mean they committed personal sin.
The only thing you have proven with this verse is you don't know how to read in context.
*_She was always a virgin (even though the Bible says a married couple should not deny one another)._*
Mary was married to Joseph in the Jewish faith. You are pointing to a Christian understanding that Paul wrote...
1 Corinthians 7:5 Do not refuse one another except perhaps by agreement for a season, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again, lest Satan tempt you through lack of self-control.
Why on earth do you believe Mary was bound by a Christian understanding that wouldn't be taught until most likely 30 years after Joseph died?
*_Did you know that she ascended into heaven? Oh, yes. I think they use the word "assumed", but you get the idea._*
Actually they are very different terms. Ascended means she would have done it on her own power, assumed means Jesus did it for her.
Also, not seeing your point here? Do you have evidence that she didn't? Where's her tomb?
Did you know that no where in the Bible does it say we should only believe what is only written in the Bible?
Did you know that Bible Alone is a man made tradition that no Christian believed for the first 1500 years of Christianity?
Personally for me I believe the saying "you can know a lot about a man by the way he treats his mother". It is absolute nonsense to think Jesus treated His own mother like He treats the rest of us. We will all get out glorified bodies back at the second coming why is it so hard to believe Jesus would do something for His own mother now that He already plans on eventually doing for the rest of us?
*_Did you know she is the Queen of Heaven, even though there is no scriptures for that? The woman in Rev. ch. 12 is not Mary. It is symbolic of Israel._*
All you are doing is showing us more evidence that you refuse to read in context.
There is no set rule in Revelation that the same word can't have a multitude of meaning. One word can have both a symbolic and literal understanding. It is obvious from the context that the Woman in Revelation 12 has some connection with bringing about the birth of the Messiah. So scholars have seen the Woman as a reference to Israel and the Church on a symbolic level and Mary on the literal level.
It is the Church who gives birth to the people of the New Covenant.
It is also from this faithful Israel that the messiah is born.”
However it is admittedly ultimately through the ‘virgin daughter of Israel,’ Mary herself, that the messiah is born.
Also, once again context is key:
“There are four main characters in the chapter: “the woman,” the devil, Jesus, and the Archangel Michael. No one denies that the other three mentioned are real persons. It fits the context exegetically to interpret ‘the woman’ as a person (Mary) as well.” People who deny this fact just prove they are blindly following what they were taught and not reading the context for themselves.
*_Did you know that she can hear the prayers of everyone on Earth? Oh, yes._*
I did not know that because that is not official Catholic teaching.
*_Did you know there is a movement in the Catholic church to have Mary be Co-Redeemer with Jesus? Oh, yes._*
Have you actually looked up the meaning of the prefix CO or are you just blindly repeating what you were told?
The prefix CO means with, together, one that is associated in an action with another, having a usually lesser share in duty or responsibility
Why are you assuming it can only mean equal to?
Remember up above when you misapplied 1 Corinthians 7 to Mary and Joseph? Well just keep reading 2 more chapters where Paul says....
22 To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, *_that I might by all means save some._*
WHAT??????? Paul must think he is a Co-Redeemer and equal to Christ here. Can you believe Paul had the nerve to think he was capable of saving people?
Use some common sense, we are all called to be co-redeemers with Christ, we are to share the gospel. I do prison ministry and if a prisoner comes to follow Christ (and is eventually saved) through my sharing of the gospel with him then I worked in association with Christ to redeem that man's soul. It doesn't make me anywhere close to being at Christ's level, but to an infinitely lesser degree I played a part in redeeming that man's soul thus making me a co-redeemer.
Open you eyes and your heart to the Holy Spirit.
      God Bless

  • @nonfecittaliter4361
    @nonfecittaliter4361 6 місяців тому +34

We must add that in that passage of the Bible (1 Timothy 2:5), Saint Paul refers to Christ as MEDIATOR of the New Covenant sealed with his blood, he does not really refer to Christ as an intercessor, so the word 'mediator' is a technical term in the context of an alliance. In the Holy Bible we see many cases of people interceding before God for their brothers: In the Old Testament Abraham intercedes before God for Sodom and Gomorrah, Moses intercedes for the people of Israel who had worshiped the Golden Calf, in the New Testament Mary The mother of the Lord intercedes for the bride and groom at the wedding in Cana, Christ intercedes on the Cross before the Father for his murderers, Saint Stephen intercedes before God for those who are martyrizing him, Christ warns us not to scandalize the little ones because their guardian angels intercede before God. It should be added that in the Bible the Holy Spirit is also presented to us as our intercessor: Romans 8:26. So it is one thing to be the only mediator, that only Christ can be, because he sacrificed himself on the Cross in obedience to the Father for our Salvation, and it is quite another to be an 'intercessor', which is Christ, is the Holy Spirit, is the Most Holy Mother of Christ, the Saints and the Angels.

The latter one is a form of spiritism and does not have any base in the scriptures.
Have you ever read just one verse in the bible about any of the apostles or even the church members praying to an old testament prophet or to any biblical figure who are physically dead? show me a verse that clearly supports this please, all this explanation but not even one verse in the bible to back it up.

That being said, we believe the Body of Christ is required to pray for one another. I’m sure you would agree with that Biblical fact. We also believe the Bible teaches that death does not separate us from the body of Christ. I’m sure you agree with that also. Well if you put the 2 together then it becomes clear that our fellow Christians who already entered heavenly glory would still be praying for us. Just like the Bible tells us that there is a great cloud of witnesses cheering us on as we run the race.

The Bible would have clearly shown examples of Old Testament pleas to Abraham et al. Particularly after the resurrection.
      Why did that not happen?
Why did Paul, Peter, James etc not say this in their very practical books?
I don't want to pick a fight with Catholics. I just want a very clear Bible Verse. In the manner of The Lord's prayer.
Why on earth did Jesus never mention this if this is intended?

    • @Matt-1926

@@vulnavia.kombora *_Why on earth did Jesus never mention this if this is intended?_*
I would say this statement is the reason why. The Apostles concentrated on the things "intended" or the ones necessary for salvation. OK to do and intended are not the same thing. If prayer to the saints is not your thing then don't do it. It's not like you are going to lose your salvation because you didn't seek the intercession of St. Joseph.
Think about it Jesus said we must believe and be Baptized in order to be saved. Yet the Bible never gives us a definitive list of what we are to believe and never gives us a detailed explanation of how one is to be Baptized. To take your line of thinking....... If Jesus said it was necessary you think clear examples would be shown of how to perform a Baptism and detailed lists of what we are to believe should be given in the New Testament, right? We could apply this to just about anything like the Trinity. There is no definitive explanation of the Trinity in the Bible, and I am sure you would agree that believing in the Trinity is necessary, right?
I think intended vs OK is the big issue that many don't understand. I hear it said all the time why do you Catholics pray to Saints instead of Jesus, as if we are afraid to ask Jesus so we go to the Saints. Well we do ask Jesus but we also know that Jesus never intended a "me and Jesus" religion. He wanted a family covenant, which is why He started a Church. He wanted us to take care of and pray for one another. Jesus came as an example for us, He didn't come to do it all so we wouldn't have to do anything.
*_The Bible would have clearly shown examples of Old Testament pleas to Abraham et al. Particularly after the resurrection. Why did that not happen?_*
I mean no disrespect but I think this question shows a lack of understanding of what the Bible actually is. It's not an instruction manual or a full compellation of everything Jesus taught. Think about it Jesus ministry was 3 years and what we know of that ministry is written in the 4 Gospels that can be read in a day. Do you honestly believe everything Jesus "intended" in His 3 year ministry is contained in 4 books that can be read in a few hours?
The writers where concerned with getting the Gospel message across. It's not like today, where we have unlimited computer resources. They had to pick and choose what they wanted to say and make it fit the size of a scroll. Every detail was not possible.
Hope this clears up some of the confusion.
      God Bless

@@danielcristancho3524 there's no need to try again as I pointed out with the definitions the role of a mediator "works" to "reconcile" differences between two or more parties, a intercessor "interposes" between the two or more parties at variance, meaning the intercessor offers another point of view. But that case isn't the same in the context of Christ and God because both are already in accord and are in agreement of Christ's sacrifice and it's purpose, so that definition of intercessor isn't applicable here, that's why the term intercession is used in the context of one who offers petition on behalf of others. Look at it in the political sense, anyone can take up a petition, but only those in Parliament can address (accept / reject) the said petition.

To the Father who created us, Jesus Christ his Son who redeemed us and the Holy Spirit who Sanctifies us and dwells within us. We give honour to Mary as that is the way God chose to come into the World. We are all part of the Communion of Saints in the spiritual world giving praise and thanksgiving to God. ''It is not the Catholic Church changed the prarcice of prayer but Martin Luther when he founded Protestantism.''
Not according to the Scriptures. According to the bible it's the Roman church that has changed the practice of prayer. There is no record of prayers to dead saints or Mary ANYWHERE IN THE NT. If it had been common, we would have read about it. Certainly, Paul or Peter would have told us about it, probably dedicated a whole chapter to this supposedly important role of Mary and the saints.

As a catholic we see the New Testament as a fulfilment of the old - similar to the Orthodox Church.
St Thomas Aquinas quotes Revelation 8:4: "And the smoke of the incense of the prayers of the saints ascended up before God from the hand of the angel."
“And behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth shook and the rocks were split. 52 The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; 53 and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection they entered the holy city and appeared to many” (Mt. 27:51-53).
Read Rev 12 . Our Lady’s role wa the fulfilment of the Woman in Genesis.
You have also Mary the mother of Jesus in the Annunciation, Mary in the visitation to her cousin Elizabeth, the birth of our Lord, the presentation in the temple, the wedding feast at Cana and the finding of the child Jesus in the temple all in scripture and referenced in the Old Testament.
In Luke’s Gospel when Jesus and Mary found Jesus after 3 days loss it says Lk:2 -51
“51 - then he (Jesus) went down with them and came to Nazareth and was obedient to them, and his mother treasured all these things in her heart.”
We always find Jesus in the temple of a Catholic church in the Eucharist.
Jesus lived with Jesus and Mary for 30 years and his public ministry was 3 years with the apostles, so Jesus and Mary lived with God in Nazareth in the Holy Family. “ Hail Mary full of Grace” full of grace means to be always full of Gods love” Jesus we trust in you 🙏

28 About eight days after Jesus said this, he took Peter, John and James with him and went up onto a mountain to pray. 29 As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning. 30 Two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus. 31 They spoke about his departure, which he was about to bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem. Luke 9,28-31
“Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you that in Heaven their angels do always behold the face of My Father who is in Heaven. Matthew 18,10
12 Then the angel of the Lord said, “Lord Almighty, how long will you withhold mercy from Jerusalem and from the towns of Judah, which you have been angry with these seventy years?” 13 So the Lord spoke kind and comforting words to the angel who talked with me.
      Zechariah 1, 12-13
9 After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice:
      “Salvation belongs to our God,
      who sits on the throne,
      and to the Lamb.”
11 All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God,
      Revelation 7, 9-11
22 But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, 23 to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect,
      Hebrews 12,22-23
9 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. 10 They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?” 11 Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers and sisters,[e] were killed just as they had been. Revelation 6,9-11
25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11,25-26
11 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who is victorious will not be hurt at all by the second death. Revelation 2,11

The word pray means to ask a favor of, or to beg. Joseph in Genesis could have said to the chief wine steward, I pray that you remember me when you are restored to your position. So, to pray to the saints you are asking them to pray for you! That's why the Lord built in the word us into the prayer. Give us this day our daily bread forgive us our trespasses, sorry but you're gonna have to deal with your neighbor. Jesus could have easily just created himself as a man, but he chose to come throughMary, and you want to just throw her away well Jesus didn't he worked his first miracle through her intercession through her mediation ( oh I know you love that one ! lol ) there is a reason that the word of God records that Jesus worked his first miracle through Mary's request she was there. She's also there with the apostles at Pentecost. You just don't want to admit, for some reason that God uses people places and things to help us in our salvation. Well, maybe you admit the thing called the Bible, maybe you think that helps I don't know. Maybe it should just be you and Jesus and no one else in the universe, but God had a plan.
That's why we don't say my father in heaven, we say our father who are in heaven the churches, a family, and Mary is the mother. She is the mother of God. Jesus is fully God and fully man. God chose her so why do you reject her? Because you reject the teaching of the church, the teaching of the early church fathers which talks about the real presence of the Eucharist in the mass which calls Mary the new Eve so you can accept it when scripture says Christ is the new Adam but you reject it when it says in tradition, Mary is the new Eve, I feel sorry for you. Have a very partial compromised version of the gospel without the Eucharist the protestants just want to keep on having the symbol of the Eucharist that the Jews had the unleavened bread at the Passover meal, but Jesus change the Passover meal from symbol to reality, he didn't say this symbolizes my body he said this is my body and then you try to use that line at the end of John to somehow undo the entire meaning of the chapter because you think that the word spirit and the word symbol are synonyms, but they aren't

lol 😂 I guess the archangel Gabriel was just a pagan when he honored Mary and the gospel of Luke. I guess the Holy Spirit is a pagan in your view because he inspires Saint Elizabeth to cry. Out blessed are you among women! You have to understand that God chooses to use people as part of his salvation plan. He did great things with Moses and Elijah, but an even greater thing with Mary the savior of the world came to us through her.

No one mentioned Mary or Gabriel. But to the point, Mary never once PRAYED to Gabriel! Are you claiming Gabriel prayed to Mary? Of course not! He delivered a message and she listened to him and accepted his message. "Be it unto me according to thy word! Let there be a performance of all that thou hast spoken for nothing is impossible with God!" She didn't ask him for anything. He didn't ask her for anything!
Then, out of your butt, you assert I'm confused about the Holy Spirit? Your stupid dishonesty is glaring and obvious!
Look. Just reread your comment. I'm sure you'll be able to see how irrelevant it was to this entire video and my comment specifically.

The idea that she’s not hearing my prayers and not praying for me and with me is absurd, prayers of mine have been answered her powerful intercession also Saint Joseph St Teresa the little flower she actually said before she died I will spend my heaven doing good upon the earth the idea of separating the Saints in heaven from the rest of the mystical body of Christ on earth is absurd. These people with the Bible only theory which is not in the Bible, which only came from father Martin Luther 1500 years after the church began, and by the way is technologically dependent upon the printing press and widespread literacy, and would not have worked on the day of Pentecost as recorded in the book of acts Saint Peter would’ve thought he was nuts. The idea of a book replacing people is absurd. All these people that “the Bible only the are quoting father Martin Luther, who broke from the Catholic Church five years ago he is their leader they follow him, but he’s not part of the church he’s not one of the original apostles, his words are not in scripture. Jesus himself taught us how to pray: "Our father in Heaven...", not "Our saints and Mary in heaven..." The apostles in the Book of Acts and St. Paul demonstrate prayer and even give instruction, for instance Paul in Phil. 4:6: "...in EVERY situation...present your requests to God." (not Mary, St. Peter, etc.). In EVERY situation, not just some. In 66 books, hundreds of pages recording the prayers of old and new testament people of God, not once does any of them pray to any departed human being. The only recorded instances of humans trying to contact the departed are condemned in the Bible. No old or new testament writer endorses praying to anybody other than God, father, son and holy spirit. None of the apostles modeled or suggested praying to departed saints or Mary. Why is that? After St. Stephen was stoned to death why did nobody in the New Testament pray to him? If God wanted us to pray to departed humans don't you think he would recommend it or give us an example to follow at least once in the Bible? You duck all of this in the video and resort to strawman arguments about whether God will share his glory or whether we can ask friends to pray for us - I have no problem with either so your arguments are irrelevant to the issue at hand. Sure, go ahead and violate all instruction in the Bible about how we are to pray, ignore the examples of prayers of holy men and women recorded in the Bible, ignore the fact that not once is praying to departed humans endorsed in the Bible. You can do that if you want, but I think I'll keep praying how Jesus and the apostles instructed us and modeled for us.

They ADDED the Popes, Purgatory, prayer to saints, the importance of mary, and worst of all, the TRADITIONS of the Catholic church as EQUAL to the Bible.....it's so obviously been demonically influenced to EXAGGERATE the importance of NEEDING a MAN to get to heaven, aka priests/popes, etc......Christians do NOT need a MINISTER, but if they follow the Word of God, they should be able to help those who need it, BASED on the Word...

Yes Jesus is out one true mediator because no one but the Savior unites in himself the divinity, which demands reconciliation, and the humanity, which needs to be reconciled.
The reason no one can be a mediator is because only Jesus is both divine and human. The incarnation is the reason why Christ alone can reconcile us to the Father.
However, that being said we are all called to be intercessors. An intercessor is a go between. I do prison ministry, it I bring an inmate a Bible and study with him every week and get him praying and thinking about God I just interceded on his behalf. Without my intercession this guy might have never known Christ and repented desiring salvation. Not claiming I saved him all I am pointing out is I did what Christ asked me to do, I spread His Gospel message.
