    I love the Magnetix shower head. You can add magnets to other places in the shower too instead of setting up a diverter valve. Its nice to be able to put the sprayer on a magnetix down by a bench or something so you can wash your feet easy peezee

    • @StarrTile

      Because he wanted to extend the shower out further and part of that door trim won't be part of the shower, the glass will go there just before the trim starts...small space in there

    Why don’t you taper the tips on the square mosaics around the drain? Seems like it would be a toe stubber with it being above the drain and not tapered down?

    • @StarrTile

      All of those pieces got tapered, the one corner that you see protruding is smoothed out with the surrounding tiles and grout

    where do you get the solid peace for the top of the curb and bottom of the nitch? Does the big box stores have them? Are they special order or do they come in standard size ? How easy is it to cut them?
    Thnx for your time on making this videos

    • @StarrTile

      I call them curb tops although if you ask for one it would be called a silll top, they come in standard 36 and 60 inches. Some Home Depots have them and Floor and Decor has them, and yes they are easy to cut if you have the right tools.

    Hey bob
    How do you finish the gap between the tub flanch and the cement board? Its usually like around 3/4 " to 1". Do you just live a gap there or do you fill it up with tin set or chulking?
    Thnx for your videos..

    • @StarrTile
      @StarrTile  6 місяців тому

      There are some that advocate for filling in that Gap with caulking but I don't see the point, the gap will be just at the bottom of your wall board to the edge of the tub like you said about an inch at Max and you just leave that Gap empty

    Hi I always doing niche after I start from the bottom with the title. I cut it out perfectly with the edges off the tiles. I never have L shape or small pieces tiles close to niche. Sorry but I hate this stuff. Looks not professional.
    You never putting first on the beck off the niche wall tiles first you need to put peace of quartz on the bottom off the niche and then tile. This same with the threshold. It is very important to follow how the water goes from top to bottom.
    This small piece of the tile closes to the ceiling 😂 😂😂
    You suppose to start from the bottom with half tile
    Come on man I will not pass this on my jobs.

  • @BonBon770

    I just watched the whole video, I wasn't gonna comment until I saw the sliver at the ceiling. You're doing the same thing Lambert does. You guys go too far out with the left and right wall. Beyond the curb. stop the tile at the edge of the outside of the curb. That way, your layout does not go into the dry area, because it doesn't need to. at that point to get rid of the sliver. At the ceiling, you could have dropped the layout down 2 or 3 inches and it would have taken care of the outside dry floor problem. It would have taken care of the sliver at the ceiling and it would have still been fine at the top and bottom of the niche. I gotta go to work, have a good day.

    • @StarrTile
      @StarrTile  6 місяців тому +3

      As all of us know water penetrates the sheetrock just outside of the curb, see it all the time and so that's why we bring our tile out six or eight inches past the curb...protection from exterior water splash. Also the option was given to cut bottom tile by 3-4 inches and he wanted full tile, not my choice. Then tile was 11 1/4 by 23 1/4 so that definitely contributed to issue.....11 3/4 or solid 12 and it would be right on point.

      @@StarrTile But most of showers have a glass door which sits in the middle of the curb. if you're using your shower correctly, the outside doesn't get wet. that being said, the curb is pitched no water ever goes out there now if you're a person that has a shower curtain, which most nice showers do not Have.. I guess you gotta be a little bit more careful. but it's not Wayne's coating. Most showers stop on the outside of the curb. But the shower door prevents water from Going Is out.… and I kind of understand I just hate when I hear Somebody say oh. The homeowner suggested this and that , to me That should not supersede your opinion as a tile contractor. I understand people will say the customer is always right, but we all know that's not true.
      And especially when it comes to layout stuff. Like in the future, say that person sells house and somebody wants to go buy it. They're gonna say there's a sliver at the ceiling. And he's gonna say well. That's what I wanted and in reality. It shouldn't have been that way. It should have been your decision because you know best on your jobs because you are the tile contractor. Alright, that's my 2 cents. Have a good rest your day, Bob.

    • @ohokayofficial
      @ohokayofficial 6 місяців тому

      Did you just infer that dropping the tile-layout down a few inches would effect his horizontal layout? 🤦🏽‍♂️
      A ripped cut at the top of a high ceiling is usually out of plain view so you don’t focus on it. (Especially with a white grout / white tile)
      A lot of shower remodels stop before the ceiling pending budget/layout. They can always add trim on the top if it’s an “issue”
      As far as tile going outside of the curb/step - do you notice any of the jobs that you tear out?
      The worn out shower doors and silicone discoloration, beyond the step.. the moisture build up - don’t put all your faith in a shitty shower door install
      Starrtile is not just installing tile - he has been addressing issues with failed bathrooms from the ground up and each modification he has made.
      So while everyone’s worried about sliver pieces or how far out their shower needs to be - their waterproofing and prep has already failed 😂
