This sound reminds me of echo mine, but more improvements on something I'm not quite sure, maybe the production behind it,,, This album might be better I can't wait to find out! (thanks Califone for being the soundtrack of my life since I was 13!)
yaya no i hear you there's a polish on this one! so fkn good. I've been rationing my listens because i replayed so much -- till i could understand what was going on. always the fun part of rutili songs - that part where we go from what to yeah
so fucking dialed in man this might as well be pastry sharp or electric fence, but it's not. It's fucking beyond and bigger in concept but tighter in delivery -- those percussive triplets in between the lyrics? damn califone *idk if they're really triplets but the percussive awesomeness - all the filigree! thanks rascals
One of the best bands ever.

Hell yes! I love waking up to a brand new Califone song and video. This one is especially good.
This song is nuts! repeats will be increasingly rewarding. So many layers and vivid lyrics. It's such a treat to slowly figure out their songs

is ox-eye a reference to a certain Roman woman from the 1st century?
i think it's a sideways reference to ox-tail which was a song on Bunny Gets Paid. but i'm just a fan. no idea
