So excited that you found your way to a new Sailing MAKANI episode. In part 5 of the sailboat refit series we install a new battery bank on the sailboat. A long overdue upgrade! Let us know what you think. 🤗
Thanks again, guys! For the battery bank and for the creativity. The skateboard lift was genius!!!! Let’s do a skateboard pontoon race in half an hour. 😜👍
Thanks Eric. We will keep posting and documenting our adventure. We really enjoy sharing our stories with all of you! Thanks for watching every week. See you. 😊
Looks like a great installation. Very professional looking. Does your battery monitor have a Bluetooth interface so you can put an alarm on your phone? If find that very helpful.
Hey Dan. 😊 Thank you. It was so chaotic before and not very well thought out. The new battery monitor does not have bluetooth. We thought about getting one with additional bluetooth, but decided that we do not need it. It is useful for sure, but spending over 100€ more just to have bluetooth was too much in our opinion.
Hi. I have looked at your video as best as I can... I think there is a better way to wire them... Do you have 3 or 4 batteries for everything that is not starting the engine?
That's what we assumed, but we checked when we took them out and didn't find a sticker or stamp. Maybe it was tiny and well hidden on the bottom, or something. 🤔 But good to know, that the manufacturing date is usually on there. It really should be!

So happy you can put those batteries to good use. And the skateboard part was so funny!

Was der Max alles kann. Faszinierend.
Schon, oder!? Bin auch immer wieder erstaunt und ganz hin und weg. 😅🥰
Ja Ja der liebe Strom auf dem Boot

Almost all batteries like those will have the date they were manufactured stamped into the body somewhere.
