The biggest struggle I had was I can never choose a niche because I want to make so many different types of music and get bored of producing the same style over and over again. Right now I kind of gave on making beats for money and have been mostly just focusing on my day job as an acoustic engineer and making some music for indie games on the side.
If you’re having trouble with the niche, make more than one UA-cam channel (if you can handle it). Start with 2 and then go to a 3rd one if you want. I have 2 type beat channels and managing a 3rd one is too much for me right now with what I got going on, but will eventually go back to the third one
Facts I make southside, west coast, Detroit, and Rnb type beats. It’s still tricky tryna narrow it down cuz my southside beats aren’t geared to just one artist. I might have a few gunna type beats and some future type beats and rod wave so I can’t jus stick to one artist but it’s all southside/ Atlanta trap
Definitely appreciate you for this bro,we beatmarker/producers need to be able to make our own 🍞 instead waiting on others or waiting for placements and this is proof that this can be done 💎
ive made 2 channels with over 10K subs and i can tell you the key is 10000% just uploading consistently. You notice that most people upload randomly or just stop for periods of time. If you are wanting to do youtube as a JOB you treat is as a job. You show up (post) the same time every day and are expected not to miss a shift, you have to care about quality and you are working for customers. Another unwritten youtube rule is that if you post consistent then you are bound to have a video catch the algorithm. If i posted daily for a week my views would be like 2-10K on average but one vid would randomly just go way up to 600K and that happens with all youtubers
Awesome info bro! Are u registering these tracks before you put them on UA-cam? How are you working with people who use clip grab and download without buying?
Just started watching this jawn, I have an LLC, or have the process almost finished at least. I'm trying to get motivated since I don't have real experience playing the piano or anything, just messing around with loops and stuff. I'm just getting started, but good luck to all of you!
Good job! Making 31k off of music is an achievement! That’s the average income in America and you are making that off your creations. I work in film and make about that much a year and I still work a regular job on the side to supplement. I’ve always made music on the side and have 1000s of beats I don’t even use. You gave me another avenue of income to think about.
This was one of the most honest, clear and informative videos I've ever watched. Music, especially hiphop is my passion. I've been making my own simple beats (I have almost no time to do anything else than my studies), because I've always wanted to create music myself, but one thing that was always unknown to me was how to actually put out my stuff in the future. Your video gave me an idea on how to start and I want to thank you for that. 🎸🎸Appreciate your work bro
I gotta thank you bro. I took your tips and started to apply them. I restarted my beat channel almost two weeks ago and one of my beat videos reached 1k views! Before, a lot of my videos wouldn't even reach 50-100 views. I really appreciate you man! 🙏🏾
Dope video bro! 🔥🔥🔥 Killin it @17 that's impressive ngl 💯 I think this might be just the answer I've been searching for. The hard part is gonna be dropping a beat a day or even close to that, (*consistently)...... also, the actual beat-SELLING business that goes behind it, which I haven't really even started researching yet. I'm a solo artist first & foremost.. and I produce, compose, engineer, etc.. towards THAT, and less frequently for other artists I actually know & work with personally....... BUT... I def make more beats than I can write songs to. I can bang out HQ beats pretty efficiently now, while songwriting remains at least SOMEWHAT elusive, (*or at least not as fast/efficient as I'd like it to be in year-7 😅) I also live in poverty and one of the last things still holding me back as an artist is an almost absolute lack of vital resources that would enable me to move forward..... I just keep hitting that poverty wall, and every time I can't pay in money, I pay in years. I'm running out of years. I need MONEY ffs! 💰 😆 I think this might be the solution I've been looking for all along, (and it's something I've been doing all along ANYWAY 😆). PS... Any recommendations for setting up the business side of beat-selling anyone? All I know is some ppl use things like BeatStars to in some way facilitate this stuff.... I know of no other options or ways currently. I've spent 7yrs learning & applying knowledge going at it AS A SOLO ARTIST, so I understand the music business pretty well, its just the beat-maker/seller angle that's new to me. Any advice will be very greatly appreciated 🙏 ✌️😎 🔹️🔷️CYRUS🔷️🔹️
Hey man i really like your attitude. I appreciate you respecting everyones time and getting right into it without any bullshit, and not being pretentious or douch-ey about it. Very cool. Also good on you for figuring this out while youre young. Im 28 and i regret not taking myself seriously when I was your age.

Happy for you man, thanks for sharing this valuable knowledge with us. I've been tryna get bigger so I can begin monetizing some of my eligible music, and this helps
Seems like I doing just fine then, just have to upload a little more frequently. Thanks for the 💎, it gave me a good perspective on the kind of views I will need to reach your type of earnings. 🔥
i would also recommend branching out genre wise, theres a big market for indie rock/pop etc type beats. the rap beat market is so saturated. the more niche you get the less competition you will have.

Hey I love this video and that you keep it real. I'm 14 years old, just started producing (got myself fl) and I just have two questions 1. At what point in your production journey did you start uploading type beat videos (how much you produced to 'get good' enough) 2. When did you start producing?

I'm wondering because I'm thinking of making a beat channel and I've always released my music on Spotify, how does this work when it comes to licensing/ when you sell the beat do you need to then take it off Spotify? I'm so confused with this particular thing and can't seem to find a decent answer online
spotify is definitley a good route for extra income! i dont see why not. and if someone buys a lease, you dont have to take it off dsp's (distribution platforms) because you own 100% of the rights to it since its your music. hope that helps brotha!
@@diegotorresbiz thanks for the reply! That does help! But one question comes to mind when it comes to beats being bought exclusively, as they would likely upload their version with vocals to DSPs. I understand with a lease, but even with a lease do they have the right to upload their version under a lease to DSPs or do they need the exclusive rights?
