- Is working at The Cheesecake Factory the best or worst job? On one hand, you get some killer cheesecake. On the other hand, their training is intense! Sorry to the Try Guys, Rhett and Link, Delish and every other creator eating the most popular dishes from The Cheesecake Factory, but we wouldn't want to go through that job training to serve you.

Man, Penny works a lot harder than we all gave her credit for, huh?
I was going to say that,ha.
I literally wrote my comment before this one, how does it have more likes?

As a former baker, the training was VERY intense (In my opinion). I had to memorize all the Cheesecakes, remember how to decorate them, and plate them. Opening hours were decent since it was just pulling the cheesecakes out of the freezer, and restocking the show case. Closing hours were horrendous since you basically have to clean, put the cheesecakes away, and restock plates (Worked 3 hours overtime). Although it was very hectic, the staff is VERY NICE. They hang up pics of you to tell everyone that you’re a new employee, and everyone will remember you.
Wait a minute, you pulled the cheesecake out of the freezer, not the oven.?
@@Coffeeisnecessarynowpepper Yeah. Exposing the secret. (BTW the Cheesecakes come premade, and frozen)
@@demissio7037 Personally, no (Especially if you come in during the dinner hours). Dinner hours have a high chance of getting a frozen cold Cheesecake. Lunch hours is better, but it’s also a higher chance for a day old Cheesecake.
I think knowing who the new employee means its easier to point fingers when somebody messes up.
@@Coffeeisnecessarynowpeppermans thought we made 80 cheesecakes a day in the same location💀
Honestly, i think Santi has a really nice voice! He will be a great fit for food theory’s new host! 💛
No it sucks
genuinely sounds really satisfying. great hosting voice for sure
Sure, but….
@@boombattlefields9123yea umm that’s called public speaking and enunciating and emphasizing your words
One suggestion I have is including the video of the host speaking during shorts, like they did with mat. It’ll help in recognizing them.
Meanwhile at Wendy's I was put immediately to work without any proper training on how to do my job
Forner Wendy's Employee here. Same.
You got an apron?
Got your uniform? Get in here and put some gloves on, kid.
It's not just fast food, that's been practically every restaurant kitchen job I've had. If you have any experience when they hire you, it's pretty much just, "Get on the line, and sink or swim"
My bf too and they never paid him on time not once.half the checks were missing shifts the last three weeks before he finally quit
I have friend that's a furry that also works at Wendy's lol
same at dunks lolll
I like how MatPat is slowly getting us accustomed to the new hosts. Good luck Santi.
i only ever eat the cheesecake, honestly sometimes i forget they have actual food 😭

As a former server, I can attest that it's true. We also ordered one plate to try out some of the food and it was a class basically. If any new items were added, everyone had to come early in the morning to learn about the new drinks/food and taste everything.
Unless you are vegan/vegetarian/pescatarian, have a kosher diet or allergies.
New menu roll outs 😂
Sounds more like a cult or mind control like some of these really upscale five star silver service gigs in New York city. They are basically an overpriced commercial dinner house chain, a casual sit down restraunte with an attitude and delusional. They are appealing to the middle class that want to be snobbish. Some of the people that made comments are defending the harsh demands put on the employees as a badge of honor. What is this place the floor of the New York stock exchange? The emergency room at a trauma center? No. A restraunte. Some of these people defend this place as if they were the poster child for affirmative action. I would not want to be forced to eat a bunch of stuff I didn't want to eat. That is sick. Where I work at a fast food place the staff is not even allowed to give out nutritional information for fear of a lawsuit. We direct people to our website. Which of course goes over like a lead balloon with the blue collar working class mentality of the area and all the Karens and ambulance chasers. If it is too much like a military operation or if the employees seem overworked and stressed and afraid for their jobs that does not bode well. It is like the old Ruby Tuesdays that is no more; or the Red Robin which still exists but they too have too many mediocre items. You should have seen the faces of these Mexican Grandmothers Try channel eating Cheesecake Factory food. They looked like they were going to throw up. They should stick to cheesecake only sold in the grocery stores.
Did you get overtime for that, sounds like a corporate scam disguised as a taste-test 🎉

Santi sounds like matpat tbh
I worked there for 3 years. I do not recall cheesecake factory boot camp, i would have laughed at the idea of written tests. I had like 3 days of training, then i shadowed another server for a few more days, maybe a week. Then i was just on my own. I will say, they only higher servers with verifiable serving experience.
They money was good though, not sure about anymore in this economy. From 2010-2013 i cleared $250 on week days and i could make $500-$800on a Friday or Saturday depending on if i did doubles.
I graduated college though and i had to quit and take a significant pay cut to go into an entry level position in my field. It took my 5 years to get back up to server money, but now i well exceed it so in the end worth it.

@Abby_Liu we both know I wrote this on a phone that automatically corrects and predicts as I type resulting it errors. Settle down, its a UA-cam comment not a thesis.
Nice
Fortunately they've added tons of training for gen z. I'm a millenial and my work experiences are similar to yours. My "training" was always "here's the manual, go to work" and then getting yelled at for making mistakes 😅 Now those employers actually have whole training programs for new workers.
@@xenondoro8573man I wish that was the case.
Penny was an actress, she was used to having to memorize a script... a big menu wouldn't be that difficult.
....so you don't know acting or the food sector, got it
@@deathmauler181 So you don't understand the concept of memorization... got it
@deathmauler181 way to display your stupidity
I can't imagine it's really that simple. A script kinda follows the natural flow of the conversation, whereas menu items are all isolated and separate from one another. That, and the much shorter time given to memorize the menu, plus a presumed lack of retakes makes it an entirely different beast.
I can learn math equations fairly quickly, but that doesn't necessarily translate into being able to pinpoint the exact placememt of an element on the periodic table.
@@QuokkaWaka i would think actors have tricks to memorize that would work either way
As someone who worked in the fast food industry I absolutely believe that Cheesecake Factory is one of the hardest in the restaurant business. We had a relatively small menu where there’s really only one way to customize each menu item (besides desserts). And even when all you can do to a thing is add cheese and condiments there was still enough stuff to remember to fill months of training.
Their cheesecakes and drinks are delicious and top notch. Their food on the other hand, I can’t provide the same compliment.
They made fun of Penny, but they definitely shouldn’t have lol
What I was thinking 😂
Yeah, although it is weird how she had memorized the entire menu, but can’t remember to serve people food

Food Theory Idea: What diet should/does The Flash do based on his faster metabolism.
They kinda answer this in the justice league cartoon. But my opinion on this would be since he burns calories as fast as he runs he should be eating the hulks body weight in food doesn't particularly matter the vitamins they'll end up in the mix at some point but the best food would be carbs so a ton of pasta.
@@zombieasparagus6021Kid Flash had pretty much carbs only, with some fibrous and vitamin rich foods thrown in for good measure, depicted whenever he ate anything in Young Justice, and his metabolism is very similar to Flash’s, just teenaged for most of the show.
@@GuiSmith so pasta would do well toss on a vitamin enriched sauce add some fiber rich fruit for dessert. Best part is there are tons of combinations he'll probably try them all in about a week but at least there's variety.
I think they did that with sonic
Yet they still manage to mess up my family’s orders every time 💀
It makes sense that a job in a place like this requires such intense training. You've gotta pay VERY good attention to everything going on while on the job. One little mistake could be disastrous in some situations.
Did you work at the cheese cake factory.
@@jennytweet7602 No. But I have a good understanding of how difficult training for that kind of job would be.
True if you put one extra ice cube in a drink it could be an absolute disaster.

People who have to climb radio towers to change lightbulbs:
Worlds toughest job sounds a whole lot easier then I expected. Only 2 weeks of training? Not bad
Went there once. Food sucked, service sucked, we were packed in there like 6 lbs of meat in a 5lb bag, music was too loud, room was too dark, AND everything was expensive for no reason.
Wouldn't waste a match on the place. Let alone go back.
Yeah I worked there for years and the best advice is to only go in the first few hours. That’s when the food quality is the best, and severs are less busy. Night shifts there are complete shitshows. So much is going on, you have so many responsibilities besides just your tables, like making the butter plates, that you’re constantly moving. The wait gets incredibly long, and the kitchen is PUMPING out food. The screen is always full of 60+ orders on a night shift. It gets chaotic and the food quality suffers. I worked there for years and I will admit it’s not worth going when it’s a 2+ hour wait and the food sucks. The best time is between opening and lunch time usually. And maybe 4-6 before the crowds come in, and the night shift is just starting.
That is also what I have heard. There are several channels where people review the food. The food was considered downright awful. The voluminous menu makes them a laughing stock. The horrible way they treat their employees is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Who ever created this place is full of themselves and needs a reality check. Luckily there are no e of these places where I live. I heard they are going bankrupt. I am college educated with a Phi Beta Kappa key and I would not make the grade and be totally humiliated. If they were a mom and pop operation even Robert Irvine from Restraurant Impossible would close the place down in a second. Customers would be overwhelmed by the menu and the stingy nature of the place and the way the employees are treated would be a buzzkiller. Doctors and lawyers don't even go through this.
@@stacyfrederick9183 they don’t treat their employees horribly. If they do, it’s location dependent. They’ve been on the 100 best places to work for over a decade.
