I've said it before but I'll say it again, lemmo is the kind of player who just makes me want to pick up a guitar and play, which i believe is about the best thing one can say about another guitarrist

Kind of a Gordon Lightfoot meets Jerry Cantrell song cycle. I have come to absolutely love Lemmo! That was fantastic! Happy New Year to all the NRG family and friends.
Lemmo , brilliant as always , luved both songs , very creative and unique , exceptional talent , and a great guitar , huge bottom on that babe , just booms with a bright sparkly treble , classic sound , as you said , very Americana , great GOTD , thanks guys.
I just bought a Martin for my upcoming birthday but that old J-50 sounds damn tempting! And by the way Lemmo very nice playing as well...Your musical vocabulary is huge and that is what I really dig about you.
Keep playing like that and you got me hooked for another season! Happy new year to all at Norms 😊 The Brit contingent will be visiting you in a couple of weeks 🎸
I bought this same guitar in '63 in Manhattan. I think I paid $200 at the time. I loved it but let it go a few years later. Best guitar I have ever played.
1964 Westport, Conn. Jack Lee of the Super Egos Blues Band owned one of these and was largely responsible for instilling my 'itch' to play guitar... cheers
I love these guitars. I have a '64 J-50. A lot of Guitars have come and gone. This is the best sounding and recording acoustic I've ever owned. Engineer friends call it "The voice of God herself".
I, too, have a ‘64. All my other acoustics have gone by the wayside, as I am completely taken in by every sound dimension of the 50. Strumming, picking…it all sounds great (in spite of me).
Great playing and a good sounding j-50 from what i feel is the best era for the J-45 and J-50. I see for 2020 Gibson has brought back their 60's J-45 reissue. Don't be fooled, the vintage ones like this were voiced a bit different, non-scalloped bracing really changes the tone, it gives you a bit more compressed and less mellow mid-range (punchy tone vs the sweet clangy tone on the banners and pretty much all J-series slopes built by Gibson Montana these days, although for some reason they went non-scalloped on the G45 series) and as it stands you can only get a good 60's era style J-45 tone buying the vintage real thing or going with a boutique builder. Maybe one of these days Gibson Montana will get the bracing right on the 60's reissues.

Hey, do you guys sell guitars? I seen so many that I wanted there. lol Looking for a 1964 Gibson J-45 and a 1967 J-50 or 60-'s J-45 and J-50. yes, actually looking for both if possible lol. Thanks, : )
I know a guy who bought one of these for 200 dollars off an old lady. Somebody played the hell out of it but it's all honest wear no signs of abuse. He said for a short time they came with a case that was white with brown spots like a cow. Apparently those cases are very rare and expensive among collectors now. Of course I tried to buy it from him and of course he wouldn't sell lol.
So many tails of wow in the comments I tuned in to hear some of the dead lifeless hard to play warn out guitars a you tuber claimed where in the store this one sounds fine to me !
“Really good fingerpicking guitars” ...... I would respectfully disagree, they were specifically flat picking guitars. I actually have a 60s J50, so I know something about these particular guitars! They just do not fingerpick well, the top end is not strong enough. Notice Lemmo didn’t actually fingerpick there. But they are wonderful guitars and I really do agree that they respond well the harder you pick.
In beging ok after He play like punk lol better using finger to lo hear the sound quality beating the vintage like cave man with pick and be proud of it lol sature ur computer or android sound no ppoint

Beautiful representation of the Gibson sound!

Second tune is a hit, put some good lyrics on and it'ready for the charts.
I was just thinking I could hear that on a movie soundtrack. It's just got some feeling.
That second song illustrates why some Gibsons are so great. Bold and mysterious.
Sounds fantastic! Second tune in particular had a really cool vibe. Great job Lemmo 👍👏
Kind of a Gordon Lightfoot meets Jerry Cantrell song cycle. I have come to absolutely love Lemmo! That was fantastic! Happy New Year to all the NRG family and friends.
wayback playback the Jerry Cantrell I could hear
I was just over there on Friday. It was a surreal experience to meet lemmo and see all the guitars. It was awesome!
Best Wishes for the coming year guys! Exquisite taste Michael! You played what that old dusty box deserved!
now thats rocking an acoustic -love the build-up- acoustic sustain- and resonance

That playing at the end was fucking awesome.
AWESOME tuning, I gotta try that open G with B down to G way cool and great playing! You made that guitar SING
J-50s are rich and bold. I have a ‘56 and I love the short scale length with the jumbo body.

The perfect guitar for a looper. It fits your acoustic style. Awesome.
I come the guitars and stay for the playing
the second tune reminded me a little of Dirty Diana by Micheal Jackson!
5 people can play the same notes, but you only like one of them
Reminded me of November rain and I shot the sheriff
I bought this same guitar in '63 in Manhattan. I think I paid $200 at the time. I loved it but let it go a few years later. Best guitar I have ever played.
I have this exact guitar. Original owner.
AWESOME!
I have a '67 I bought new before I went overseas in the AF. Still have it. Looks just like this one except mine has the rosewood saddle.
Does this guitar have the pencil thin neck?
@@albert6222 very thin
This is jens best recording yet! Those stills and the zoom ins and outs . Steady hands need i say more..
I have the 63 SJ- I love the plastic bridges in 63. That looks like a replaced bridge? Nice playing.
now that sounds way better that that gretch yesterday
Was the strumming part (5:14) a cover?
I can't believe it was pure improvisation, such a beautiful playing.
Nice sounding instrument. Great playing. Thank you!

Lemmo, you are just fantastic!
Giddy- Up Lemmo... Nice to hear rock played on acoustic...
Wow the year I was born.
Great playing!
J50. Lemmo should've played some James Taylor.
Nothing wrong with a J-50! Especially one as good as this one! However! Gotta do a Maton!
Sounds great 👍
Nice playing.
Nothing like a little Travis picking to spruce up any tune! Learn it today, you'll never regret it.
Nice guitar 👍 great sound
You tore it up today ..... nice/thanks for the ear candy.
I recently started getting lessons, I'm interested in a new J50. Would it also age in color like this vintage J50?🙂💙

Great finger picking guitar, chords too...
'It's just a guitar' people say but compare this Gibson to the recent Gretsch. The Gibson just sings that Gretsch had the details.
