never before has a game captured a true "cinematic moment" where music, movement, and audio merge so perfectly into one. this is an amazing moment, between Nate's slow delirium, the vast emptiness of the empty quarter, and the music/narration (quoting the Wasteland was just icing on an already tasty cake) this was a true experience to be had, weather one appreciates it or not, this was special

JA HALLO. Listen pal, your ancestors probably enjoyed it in North Afrika deserts back in ~1941. You probably will get the same feeling, I invite you personally to The Arabian Peninsula, Riyadh. From there I will make sure you have an amazing time, then you’ll be imagining yourself all day n night in the deserts.

you can go every where you wanted in this part but you'll ended up going in circles, no mater where you go you'll still gonna get all the hallucination scene's, the last one was the one sully wakes you up and tells you to keep going where by then nathan accidentally find the village.
just finished playing this game today and this is truly one of the most powerful scenes in a video game that i've ever seen. the whole chapter is so beautifully made, very cinematic. the music and marlow's monologue in his head is really something
It's moments like these that define gaming. I didn't agree with U3's story, and my personal GOTY went to either inFAMOUS 2 or Arkham City, but I'll never forget that cutscene, and the powerful soundtrack as I began treading along such as massive and beautiful space, alone with Nate's quick quibbles and thoughts, and figuring out just how long either of us can manage staying out here, or whether we'll even survive.
I’m from Oman, and damn this looks good for a 2011 game, the Rub’ Al Khali desert is in Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman and UAE, don’t know how drake had the guts to go their dude probably didn’t know that this desert is in 4 countries and we Arabs don’t even dare to ho there, why am i even blaming drake it’s the writers lol 😂
The sand physics in this game are absolutely incredible...Perfectly done game. Pardon me, this is not a game, this is a modern masterpiece. God, I wish I had a PS3...
Okay, looking at the comments I'd like to clear up the difference between a mirage and a hallucination... A mirage happens when the air above a hot surface (sand, road ect) heats up and distorts, reflecting the blue of the sky witch makes the appearance of a puddle of water. However, seeing plants, oasises, buildings, people and other objects is hallucination caused by lack of water, food, sleep and the like... Hope that helps :) The game looks AMAZING! Cant wait to play! :D
Brilliant brilliant game, underrated even though it won a lot of game of the year awards. One of the best graphics games ever and an amazing game all around.
The damn Rope wouldn't come up for me, I pressed triangle as fast as I could, Very slowly, medium speed, and it just kept pulling it a little, and then stopping, I thought it was a mirage
I remember seeing this for the first time. Even if it's just sand and it's coarse and gets everywhere ( XD ) it still was able to make my jaw drop in awe.
On the level where youre young Drake he tells Sully at the end of the level during a scene that Sir Francis Drake had a child over seas with another woman, so that created another line of Drakes, his surname would be Drake technically
No worries lol it happens not really stupidity just misinterpretation. I personally would like Marlowe's secret Hermetic society (I just call them the Illuminati) to continue making appearances in the series in the future, even with Marlowe and Talbot gone. They could potentially be the only way to finding the whole truth of Nate's past.
Yeah who knows they might pull a villain outa no where or bring back another, possibly for all we know Sully and Drake couldve hallucinated Marlowe and Talbots death but they still made it out, but id prefer a new villain.
He lied. The scene with Marlowe clearly covers this and no one but her knows it 'cause she had his dossier which contains ALL of a person's background. We don't know Nathan's real background or real surname. All we know is he had a shitty childhood and grew up to be Sir Francis Drake's #1 Fan to the point he believed himself worthy of the name (as Marlowe put it) even if not by birthright.
Bruuhhh you're telling me there was no water in that military plane? None? You'd think Drake would have checked if there was some food/water in the plane.
Drinking a ice cold glass of water whilst watching this just to flex on Drake

Dwayne Wade I'm from Saudi Arabia and you're completely right
False I read that it's the second largest sand desert
But I may be wrong no hard feelings
+Raynor the Atlantis of the sands is also supposedly true.

I prefer Uncharted 2 to Uncharted 3, but damn if this isn't a brilliant scene. I only wish that they did even more with it.

every time it changed camera angles i put down the controllers because i thought it was a cutscene

Its cool how the story was made because the Rub Al Chali is a real big desert
@concam96 did I miss something in the story, but why would he leave the wreckage- doesn't seem like a safe thing to do!
I think he left because he was searching for the caravan with sully in it because they were planning on killing him or something
I needed this
Thank you

It’s a quote from a poem by T S Elliot called the Waste Land
Do you just keep walking around to get all the hallucinations to happen and pass till u find the village or is there a particular direction u walk in?
Theres a particular direction. But its not *super* clear on where to go. I just walked around until I triggered the next fade to white
