Following Brest's embarassing performance against Auxerre a few days prior to the game in Salzburg, I was very pessimistic and expecting Red Bull to beat us without much trouble.
Watching the game with the family, we wondered if we weren't dreaming. It's an exceptional feeling. I've been supporting this club for a long time, and it's never given me so many emotions. And I know it's just the second match day but come on, who had Brest top of the table or near it at any point of the competition? I know people like to see Brest on top though.

The celtic rant is partially justified, obviously money plays a big role now, but Id like to point out that Rodgers has concede 7 goals 3 times in the competition, he's not a bad manager but when hes up against a powerhouse, his side just get torn apart -his side are very attack minded and they don't have the quality, or the managerial approach, to shut out these top sides - I think they will beat sides like Brugge and Young Boys, but the away days against top european opposition are gonna be disasterous

People forget that football is cyclical in nature. Bad times follow good times which follow bad times. As an Arsenal fan, we knew the period till 2005, 2007 even was great and then we had those torrid years. Likewise, maybe a decade or decade and a half from now, we could yet be in those torrid years again. It will happen to everyone. It is just the definition of "torrid" is relative to the club's position, consistency and recent history. Bayern not winning the Bundesliga every year is torrid. Real not winning the UCl is torrid. Villa bumping between the Championship and the Premier League is torrid. Likewise, with enough time, United will return too.
