Chiranjivi means boon of living until killed by someone and no one couldn't.
What u said is correct chiranjivi however do shed their mortal bodies at the end of the kaliyug they die before the starting of another cycle so they have just a lot of lifespan and are bot immortal but just live very long until the 4 yugs end

For those who don't know there are 2 ways to became immortal in Hinduism
They are-
1=Drink "Amrit"
2=there is a long story which last more that 3 days if you completely listen that story without sleeping you will became immortal.(A small additional story--so once Lord shiva's wife Ma Sati was given a offer by a old priest. He told Ma Sati, that if she hear his complete story she will become immortal. So he began to tell his story to Ma Sati there was also a pigeon which was listening to this story. After 1 or 2 day Ma Sati gave up and she fell asleep but the pigeon didn't sleep he listen the whole story and became immortal. Legends say he is alive)
And Sorry I forgot the name of the story and the priest but I hope you all get the basic outline of this story.

I think rather than keeping Ashwathama in this list we must remove him and replace him with sage Markhandeya......
Sage markhandeya composed the Maha mrityunjaya mantra for the supreme lord and lord shiva granted him a boon that he will forever remain at 16yrs despite the passage of time.
Ashwathama on the other hand was cursed by Lord Krishna. So his immortality is not a boon as krishna specially removed a diamond from his forehead due to which he bled profusely and then then lord cursed that his would will never heal and that puss will emanate from every single pore in his body and he'll spent his life in loniliness for the rest of eternity.......
None of the other Chiranjeevi's have such kind of a fate. Therefore in my opinion Sage Markandey must added after removing Ashwathama from the list.....

Bali or as we can him Mahabali was not vanquished. He accepted his fate with the most noblest actions of charity. Mahabali was the benevolent asura king of Keralam who became immortal because of his good deeds. He was revered by his human subjects. He was stomped down to patalam by lord vishnu 5th avatar, Vamana. Vamana had asked Bali he wanted whatever he could traverse in 3 footsteps and Bali agreed. But Vamana grew so big, he stomped earth and sky in 2 steps. Since there was nowhere else for Vamana to step on Bali offered his head. But he is allowed to visit his subjects again one day every year on Onam.

Man monkeys were called "Kapi" in ancient times and Vanara means man from the forest. Hanumanji belonged to a different race and he was a avatar of lord shiva himself. He is blessed with wisdom, knowledge strength astha-siddhi and nava-niddhi but his biggest strength is his Bhagti(devotion).

Sadguru explained about Markandeya. He is in a time dimension where he never grows beyond 16 years. So technically he is not immortal but his age is freezed. This happened due to grace of Shiva.
