- Edinburgh Taxi Trade kids outing. Taking kids with special needs on a day out. Edinburgh Taxi drivers on their 76th trip to East Lothian. Drivers dress up in fancy dress and all the kids join in. The taxi drivers decorate their taxis with balloons and flags, some even mount themed parafanailia on their taxis. They pick up the kids and join all the taxis who leave from Edinburgh Zoo car park. The route takes them past Murrayfield, Haymarket, West End, Princes Street, Royal Mile, London Road, Portobello. They stop off at Musselburgh for ice cream before making their way to their destination which this year is Archerfeildhall Walled Garden in East Lothian.

Saw you (and heard you) all passing Murrayfield this morning. Great job everyone!
Brilliant loved it , thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
Noticed two people hit unlike, anyone who hit unlike care to comment?. I’d really be interested to hear why
What these drivers sacrifice to give kids a day to remember surpasses anything. Not only do they sacrifice time, effort and money decorating their vehicles, and the day spent giving these kids a day to remember but also sacrificing their earnings. What other profession does this?
I was a regular on this outing 1973 to 1980. The event was a little bigger then but it is still brilliant!
Thanks , brilliant video 🤭☔️
thanks, enjoyed being there and watching all the taxis and the excited kids

I remember a few years ago asking for more taxis but they seem to have a good cohort that regularly take part now.
Difference now to then is the costs of vehicles etc, and competition. Drivers earning less now and paying out more , a big sacrifice today to do this compared to then.
