The Ceremony of the Keys held in the grounds of Holyrood House, Edinburgh, Scotland on Tuesday 2nd July 2024. The Lord Provost accompanied by councillors present the keys of the city to the reigning monarch every year, a tradition that dates back to at least the reign of Mary Queen of Scots when the city had walls.
