    Also I put a cargo with a sorter between the base and the massive amounts of materials you are about to drill. Put an event controller sensing the centre drill of your cross of drills. This is where all that material builds up. 75% full = drills off, 0% = drills on

    For defence try custom turret using warfare gatts it's better than small grid gatling turret

    Build a ring of defense around your base and further out from your base. This ring will engage the rapiers BEFORE they get into range of your base.

    i'd recommend having 2 or 3 turrets set for missile mode only, where they will fire on incoming missiles that should prevent you from taking as much damage as you currently are

    You have a pretty big weakness in your defenses. Any enemy approaching from the left or right (looking from the front door towards the base) cannot be engaged by the turrets on the opposite side due to your energy towers. You should at least place additional defenses in front of and behind your base to cover the blind sectors (or use the excellent suggestions others have given regarding outpost defensive positions).

    I recommend build vision mod. And yes it was a bit jerky movements, but I just looked away and I could visualize what you were working on.

    Set up the gattling om each corner to target missiles it will shot down the incoming projectile
    The tyype and size of Reavers... depends on how many weapons (threat score) every block has an individual score... looking on the MES workshop page will give you the chat command to display your score
    Antenna (base/ rover/ ship/ suit) is what attracts the Reaver ... unless they are with in 2 K then motion draws them in

    So the Reavers home in on beacons and power signs. They also tend to ram. You can set up a vanguard BOB to pick the debris yard of Reaver wrecks clean as well for their mats.

    If you build an AI Defense Block, Set it to lock on to hostile. Then, set the Assault cannons to focus on the target lock they can fire at the max 1200m range.

    You know... You can use build and repair to mine resources. Works great when you are trying to carve a cave base in the side of a mountain.

    IMO you need 10x-20x more wind turbines and maybe 6x more refineries with speed and yield modules on them. Some outer towers would help, I never built decoys but they seem to work well. If you are going into space you may want to build that ice mining station as hydrogen engines are great at lifting heavy loads. My normal space mining aircraft carrier holds 8-10M tons and has 6-8 large cargos and 6-8 fully upgraded refineries. Maybe 4 large hydro tanks and a few maxed out assemblers with a battery bank of maybe 24.

    For the turrets, you can add an AI defensive block which will increase the max engagement range of the turrets so they start shooting the reavers further out

    9:40 Some suggestions about base defenses:
    - You can build like separate grids like 200-500 meters from the base to be like turret battery(es), I usually build them like 300m from the base, it is basic structure with battery, small cargo, wind turbine and single or multiple turrets on the platform
    - Turret battery should be like 3x3 or 5x5 or 5x3, just find some interesting design, then hide the battery and small cargo inside, slap an door facing the base or from the base (it have lots of HP), maybe slap few blocks behind toward the base and slap small tower with single small wind turbine or solar panel just to have extra charge.
    - I usually slap them around the base like this: gattlings should be further away, like 500m from a base in each direction (square/cicrcle), than on 300m slap some auto cannons, and then like 100-200m slap some assault cannons towers. Artillery can go on top of the base or just near the base like few meters away with few gattling guns.
    - Set all the turrets to target all grids, all enemies and most important thing target only weapons and turrets, for the artillery and gattlings on the base, set artillery to target power source on the grid and set the gattlings to target only missiles and nothing else.
    - Turret batteries/grids should be built with heavy armor blocks, don't build them with regular blocks :D
    - You can also equip the solar tower with some turrets as well as few of the O2 farms. You just have to build it with conveyors and connect them on the side or forward/back lol
    That way you will have most effective defense system in SE. It is only pain in the but for reloading the grids with the ammo, but it can be solved with underground conveyoring, I know it is like far to build conveyor lines like 500m away but all can be built within reasonable distances, just remember to put gattlings further from base, then autocannons the assault cannons and last on the base artillery and missile defenses. Only pain in the A** is repairs, but if the nanobots can reach it it is fine, otherwise you have to do it manually, One more thing, you can take individual blueprints of each turret outpost and slap an projectors as well on each outpost and keep them projecting over the grid, so, if enemy damage or destroy some blocks you will have projection and nanobots can repair it at 100% or you can repair it by hand (less likely) :D
    25:30 About the drill rig: You should put some event controllers and set them to monitor the cargo fill percentage. If the cargo reach like 90% full, let the controller turn off the rig, also, if the cargo drops below like let's say 50% or less turn the rig ON again and keep digging :D
    34:41 To fix the airlocks easy way, just slap the airvent between the doors (inside an airlock) and set it to depressurize non stop, slap sensors on each door but outside the airlock and set the distances to be like 1.5 meters from the door and to detect only you ofc, so when you approach the door it will open, you enter the airlock and after you go out of sensor range it will close the door, approach the other door same happens ofc, in the meantime air is sucked by the vent. Just make sure to have some space between the doors and give the time to the vent to suck the air as soon as you walk to the other sensor, you know what I mean i hope.
    I usually build like door, then block then vent and 2nd door, like 2 blocks apart space for airlock, it is not much volume to suck the air form and the vent does it quickly enough to not waste the O2. You can also put an O2 tank just for air locks only, fill them only with like 50% then slap an event controller controlling the stockpile of the O2 tank, if it goes like below 10% turn on the H2/O2 generator, if the tanks go above 90% or even less, like 50% just turn off the H2/O2 generators
    Some MOD Suggestions: Build vision (it is a must to have and it will ease you interaction with parts without going thru control panel)
    Hope it helps a little with my 6K hours of SE gameplay :D

    Believe it or not, but I spotted the misplaced conveyor line as soon as you placed the block. It's very obvious if you watch that part again.

    You can use an event controller to turn on and off your drills when your cargo is % full or empty.

    Some Raver ships have reactors.
    You could get the components and the uranium from them.
    Also Ion thrusters.

    You'll need more iron - Large grid ships/ship carriers use a lot of iron in just about every component of it.. Also your drill rig could have benefitted so more from pistons instead of conveyors on the top.

    You only have one refinery?😢. May I suggest more…. Three more with two speed mods, two power efficiency mods, on each refinery 😊. That will chew through your stone fast.

    This is great! When you got face planted by that reaver I about choked on my water I laughed so hard. Wow what an entertaining series. A couple things to note: what ever ore you want to automatically be pulled into the refiner first should always be placed first in a storage container, for example you had Stone, Iron, and Nickle. If you want the order for refining to be Iron, Nickle, Stone make sure that is the order they are in within the cargo container and the refiner will pull them in that order. Since I know you will be building more refiners (a great idea, I usually have at least four) they will all pull from the cargo containers in the order you place the ores.
    To help you with the doors, to keep them closed so you don't lose air there's a script called "Whip's Auto Door and Airlock Script" that will close all your doors for you after a set time, I think the default is 3 seconds but you should be able to change that in the script after it's in the programmable block.
    On your drills - awesome job, they look cool and seem very functional. Keep in mind that when you set the velocity to some amount, and then you do that for each piston it multiples across the number of pistons you have. So when you set the velocity to 0.02 across four pistons (assuming you set them up as you have) when you extend or retract all of them as a group the velocity is going to be 0.08 - or the combination of all for of them.
    Those reavers are more likely to go after you, so if you want to keep your base safer, do like you did when you moved away from your base on one of their attacks. I'm not sure with regard to decoys, but I don't think they need to be powered to work. If you built a handful of towers further out from you base and placed decoys on top of them the reavers should go after the decoys while your turrets take them down.

    might i suggest the gravel sifter mod, you can adjust it i do believe to change the amount you get, really good mod to add with the build and repair systems

    build another pair of turret towers one ut back by your little miner and one out front by your death crater .... that way you have a ring of fire power ... sure it isnt a lot extra BUT it covrs every face of your base then and has lots of overlap

      @@ResearchMonkey437 I had a similar problem. I get really bad simulation sickness so all of that movement makes me nauseous and gives me a really bad headache. Generally when I run into this I have to play a minute and then go do something else for 10. Content so far looks good but getting through it will be slow.
      Best advice for this I can give is to, when looking around for something on the ground, looks with your eyes first and then move the mouse to points of interest rather then looking with the mouse. If you have to do it slowly and then speed the video up or make cuts later, that is fine.
      When moving the mouse around an area to demonstrate the boundaries of where you are building, as you were in this video, instead practice pointing at the center of the area with the mouse describing the area boundaries rather then mousing around it. Or if mousing is more natural for you, get some distance from the area so you do not need to move your mouse as much, and move it much slower. Perhaps one to two seconds to make a complete circle, or square or whatever shape you are making. This would make the video much more watchable.

    Always put defense towers 20 foundations from your base. Pipe it up later, add a small cargo for a magazine, a battery, and if your feeling it a remote.
    Tower about 5 connectors tall. Turret on top and turret on each vertical face of the tower. The turrets on the vertical walls need a spacer like a wind farm. I prefer gatt on the vertical walls and a heavy hitter on top.
    Lite armour the connectors, make sure a door allows access to your ammo magazine.
    Put one of these on each cardinal point of your base. N, e ,s, w
    Pipe them up.
    I play with lots of enemy mods so get heavy cruisers and the like.
    Replaced lite for heavy armour, put four more towers on the ordinal points ne, se, sw, nw.
    Add welder to self repair,
    Add projector,
    Next layer is to add sacrificial defense drones

    Get the gravel shifter mod then you can get more resources like uranium ice platinum and uranium from the gravel
