For years I was a fan of Kenwood, once I switched to Pioneer I never switched back. Great product!
thebayareapimp at the time pioneer had a much better sound without having to add an amp to your mids and highs. Along with that the technology seemed to work better on the pioneer unit that I had VS the two kenwood's I used previously. Of course this is all personal opinion.
Waze is now Ava for android auto, thank god. Awesome review thanks 👍🏾👍🏾
Good review.
I paid $1,395.00 and Pioneer included $150.00 rebate card I received through the mail. Love this head unit and I highly recommend it.
the microphone is for auto eq calibration
Was looking forward to this for so long!
It's it worth the 800? I want a new headunit but don't know if the phone connected ones are ready for promoting yet 1000 with install seems like a lot
i have the 8200nex, pandora does play through Android Auto, so IDK what you where doing to not get it to work but it works 100% for me and all the units i sell.. also as far as videos playing on sd card that WORKS also, im guessing that you didnt do the video bypass yet??you also missed that the 8200 has a ridiculios screnn re, compared to the lower models.... its amazing that this company gave you a radio to do a video for when you know absolutely nothing about it, you miossed 80% of the units features......... PIONEER contact me next time ill do your units justce :)
Most cars have a dimmer wire on the wiring harness. The shop may not have tapped into your vesicles dimmer switch. Turn your lights off and on manually. Does the radio dim? Do the lights on radio turn off or on?
I have been looking forward to this video for awhile, thanks for creating and posting it Jordan. I take it from your "punish yourself" comment that you have had a bad experience with Apple Maps? I use three, myself: Waze, Google Maps and Apple Maps. I have found that each has their own strengths and weaknesses, benefits and drawbacks, just like anything else. I just like that I have a choice. I am pleased that the Pioneer supports both iOS and Android though; that's pretty cool. Again, thanks.
Yeah, in my case, Apple Maps has just taken me out of the way, in the wrong direction, a few too many times. :)
+Jordan Keyes same
What about HERE We Go maps? :) Free and offline :D
@Jordan Keyes Awesome video intro, pioneer has some awesome products, this was an awesome video yes!!! Thanks Jordan!👍🙌
"you can use apple maps if you want to punish yourself" lol funny because it's true
Nope....bet you haven't used it the last 2 years
how much do you think installation will cost?
How's the resolution does it feel like a phone display wise
Wish i had the 8200 nex , its almost 1000$ maybe more, i end up getting 6200 and im happy with it
Does it have an Aux cord Input?
hi my sat nav was put in few months ago & have used sat nat guide with voice but its stopped working. I need it to work pleasanye help on this as only used it 2times since put in 3months ago thanks
Can it integrate with existing steering wheel controls?
Dayananda Srikantaiah yes with kit
Do you know if steering wheel controls ie volume up/down, seek, voice commands will integrate with this unit? I have a newer Toyota Highlander and their in dash system entune is horrible.
Generally, you'll need what is called a CAN box, which will probably cost you around 100$.
Today's steering wheel controls communicate with the head unit via the car's CAN bus. This CAN box will tap into your car's CAN network, intercept the appropriate messages and command the HU accordingly.
AFAIK, Pioneer has a CAN box in their offer and it should support most recent models.
+Daniel Dur thanks
finally you made this video!! awesome!!
Can’t change the clock please show how
good product; good brand functionality are great but the price is very expensive man.
"Specifically a lot of kid and family friendly stuff"...has Slipknot radio. LOL
Ohh how i wish that they had one like that for my seat ibiza 2000 model. I would give an arm and a leg right now
What's the flash frame at 00:47 ?
Minor glitch in editing, apparently. Sorry about that.
Oh ok neat. I wanted to get the JBL Legend CP100 for $399 but apparently it's not coming out until next year.
Very cool item, not sure i like the standard interface though. Not that pretty. I suppose if you have your phone plugged in most of the time that doesn't matter so much. At that price Jordan, isn't worth more than the car :P
Awesome review as always. Can't wait until Tesla sends you a free car to keep for review :)
Awesome! If you would give it away, send it to me!! I'll pay the shipping :D
But now seriously,as gealous as I am, the review is very nice! You have presented all the features very well.
Cheers!
Someone tell me *why* these units are so friggin' expensive?
really cool product, but that price tho..
It's a navigation head unit, guy never once shows the Pioneer navigation map............
These receivers are junk, I have 2 of them and one had to be swapped out so all three of them has had issues. The one in my truck will not work correctly press volume up button on the steering wheel instead of raising volume it lowers the volume. If you disconnect the batteries for a while and reconnect the radio works fine for a while THEN goes crazy again. The installer tried to fix it but could not figure out problem, and Pioneer HAS NO SUPPORT for anyone. Installer couldn't get help from pioneer either. So I am stuck with a 1200.00 piece of junk. I will never buy a Pioneer product again! Hello Kenwood.
It looks a little laggy though.
Btw contrary to what you may think Apple Maps works far better for me than Google Maps. People still think that Apple Maps is the clusterf^ck it was when first introduced... it isn't!!
I've tried it several times over the last few months, and I just prefer Google maps. Apple maps has taken me in some strange directions, had me making U-turns that would make me miss the destination, and just doesn't suit my needs at this point.
+jakers250 Nope...sorry to sound a divergent note, but my Apple Maps experience has been far far smoother (UI) and more pleasant and satisfying. (accuracy). Before switching to Apple Maps I was a diehard Google Maps fan...after getting lost 3 times in a 1 month period I've switched permanently to Apple Maps and haven't looked back since. Unfortunately people still look back to the unfortunate rollout of Apple Maps under Scott Forestall and that taints their vision of the product. The reality is that it's made gigantic strides since!
You could clean it first..)
Still way to expensive
Thanks for a good video as always
