Great tutorial but These rebuild pumps tend to blow the shaft seal and leak through the bearing. Easily said then done, but replacing the big o-ring between the pump halves can make original pump to last another 10years, unless it is messed up by low fluid level
Awesome vid. Very straight forward. I did this before with my TSX. I was advised when bleeding the power steering fluid to have the front wheels off the ground so when turning the wheel you don't have any resistance. Keep it up...
I have a 2008 TSX and It does not make humming noise when turning, when I turn the steering left and right, no unusual noise and I dont see any leak from the pump itself. But I can see some power steering fluid leak under my car, what can it be?
I have a question. I have the same year TSX. When you turn your steering wheel while not moving the car, does your rpms on the cluster rev up? I just notice that on my car. I was wondering if that was an issue.
Yes this is normal. When you turn the wheel, load on the PS pump can cause a drop in RPM. Since the car is wanting to maintain both idle RPM and voltage, it will fluctuate and try to adjust. Same thing happens when you turn on your AC. This is more noticeable on older cars.
@@lowlifeboyz thanks a lot. Yea I had a 2012 Volkswagen gti I just got rid of. Lol that thing was not reliable at all. I found this TSX for a cheap price. I am glad I went back to Honda

Whats that on the belt? A baby wipe, lol probably would have changed that too. Good video tho bro, about to tackle this tomorrow 🏈
My bad i see you did the belt too, imma do the reservoir aswell, thanks for the vid
very complete, thanks for the torque specs.
Can you please link the tools used? It would really help.
@LowLifeBoyz
That was awesome ! Now I can try to do it by myself 😉👍
They apparently had a recall for power steering pumps on first gen TSX cause it leaks.

Check the power steering hoses & the rack & pinion. Mine had a leak coming from the rack & pinion a while back.
@@lowlifeboyz the end hose was replaced but still leaking a little bit so i am assuming they didn’t install the hose correctly?
@@FaithpreneursUnite you can also put some uv dye into the power steering system. Drive around for a day or two & check for leaks.
@@lowlifeboyz Thank you!
@@FaithpreneursUnitedid you find what the issue was?
Did you replace the resevior, just to add the filter?
The filter is built into the reservoir.
@@lowlifeboyz so was your old reservoir bad??? or did you replace it to upgrade to one with filter?
@@seanjoy7131 It wasn’t bad, it was just dirty but I decided to replace it since it wasn’t to expensive.
I switched pump and belt, still hear that sqeeky sound, could it be the O rings that need replacing?
Maybe the tensioner pulley, bearings go out and it squeals too
@somebodycomewatchthis9021 thanks mate for the response, yes it def was the tensioner , switched it and back in action no noise.

Did you reuse the hoses??
Yes I did.
What brand is that power steering pump?
Looks very easy
Perfect! Thanks!
