Does anybody know what it's called when at the point where you drift off to sleep you wake up panicking and taking a deep breath because it feels like you've been suffocating
That's exactly what I am experiencing last few weeks I'm trying to find out i keep choking at point of drifting off to sleep and sometimes if I have got to sleep it happens and awakes me and I jumped out of my bed banging my chest trying to breath anyway bi had enough so doc getting me in to see special IST in hospital next week he thinks I need operation to widen airway hope this is useful bto you ol let you know wot happen s
Maybe if you sleep on your stomach you might be suffocating yourself with your pillow
Blast Oise This is how my sleep apnea feels for me. I also have a tight chest when it happens. It’s’ really worth you getting checked. I have also developed heart arrhythmia problems.
This is exactly what I’m looking for.. what is the name of this condition?
I been experiencing that for a few days or few weeks
What scares me the most is, i don't know if ill live to see the next morning sunrise. Im scared cause im having it rn the breathing issue i just talked about.
Start mewing
Dude instead of commenting about your issue, go to a fucking doctor and get it checked out. Wtf?
Try to get a support dog. I've heard tons of stories where their pet woke them up when it happens
My wife is having a headache because the time I began snoring that made me chose to use this snoring remedy t.co/Dre5IfqVTi
It got me 3 weeks to obtain substantial results, but after a month or so my wife announced that I had neither snored or stopped breathing during the earlier night! .
I\'m not sure but ,if anyone else needs to find out about best treatment for sleep apnea try Megarno Apnea Magician(just google it ) ? Ive heard some great things about it and my friend got cool success with it.
Thanks for the video I take my sleep study tonight wish me luck
How did it go? Are you glad you took the sleep study?
I've been having this weird feeling for a good year or two now that get worse before and after I go to bed. I'll just be laying there and all of a sudden realize that I breathed out and didn't breath in for a good 10 seconds, it just felt normal and relaxed like that was the natural state my lungs are supposed to be at. I'm extremely weak every-morning to the point I can barley lift my leg straight up. I get constant headaches/eye pain, chest pains, stomach pains, memory loss, randomly feint/black vision, confusion/clumsy as if I'm slightly drunk throughout the whole day. Today I got it the worst I've ever had it waking up, I found myself having to manually breath in every breath for a good 5-10 minutes after I woke and only had the strength to roll off my bed, nothing felt like it could or wanted to move. I've been having all these symptoms and Sleep Apnea runs in my family, both my grandma's have it but one needs a CPAP to sleep. Should I be worried lol?
Sidenote
I'm 18, 110 pounds, 5.6, eat once a day sometimes not, same with drink. Definitely not over weight.
I have bad mucus problems in my chest, mucus flows from my sinuses down my throat all day which makes me always have constantly hawk up huge mucus loogie's straight from my lungs, I wonder if the problem could be Apnea caused by Mucus since I cant clear my throat at night??
Sleep apnea is
considered a serious threat to your health because you can go undiagnosed and untreated

I hope this helps someone out there. So, I had to rush my mom to the ER she wasn't waking up and said she couldn't move. Then said after loads of tests done on her that she has Severe Sleep Apnea that has causes lung damage. She is on a Bipap machine for now and oxygen. But with out the machine her Co2 goes way up. Her body retains Co2 (carbon dioxide) so fast. Doctors just informed me she'll die one day from her Co2 being so far up and just won't wake up from her sleep. Her lungs are so severely damaged at this point due to Sleep Apnea. I'm pissed as no other doctors had ever told us this. Now I find out that if a parent or sibling has it, it's considered a genetic factor in that family and I have 87% chance of having it too!! I'm trying to find a sleep center to get myself tested. I call this the silent killer.
Sneezing repairs your lungs
@@allens1105 LOL!! Okay if you say so... Lets see you sneeze when your oxygen level is at 59% and your Co2 is at 88%... If you were attempting to be funny it was not and it was an insult to what my mother and my family are going through. She's basically dying!

update? My mom recently passed from this
I keep dreaming about not being able to breath. Strange dreams, like I'm swimming and drawing, or I'm being choked by a ghost, i dreamt that my mouth and nose could not open up, it was physically painful, imagine when you're swimming, as a child, id swim down really deep and often id need a breath at the bottom of the lake, and I would swim to the surface as fast as possible and hit the surface and just gulp air, my chest would hurt. So I will awake doing that! Gulping for air, my chest hurts and it's clear that I've been not breathing and it was not just a dream. Its so crazy, i have not even told anyone about this, because I thought I was just crazy, that people will think I'm just dreaming and I am not really unable to breath, it's just the dream. Its been happening for the last year. I'm so afraid to sleep, so afraid that I'll male myself awake, I'm scared that one night, i won't wake up, that I'm going to suffocate.
I definitely think i have it. I can fall asleep quickly but can’t stay asleep at all. I’m exhausted ALL OF THE TIME. Like he said, i do not enjoy life like i should because all i can think of is going back to bed. I have fallen asleep waiting at stoplights or standing at the sink in the kitchen. I went to a rock concert and fell asleep there!!!! I’m definitely going to be getting tested because I’m tired of this “life” I’m “living” 😔
I wish to inform that I`ve been practicing for few monthsusing this snoring treatment t.co/YwY3S24R2i
and I had excellent results. The best part is I never snored any longer after almost 2 months of doing the physical activity. Neither the snoring or the feared sleep apnea have returned. .
Hey it’s been 8 months. How are things working out?
Would you give an update, please.
Still having some of the same problems but I was recently diagnosed with Hashimoto’s. So that might be part of the problem because it causes extreme fatigue. And that’s only part of the problem. But thank you for asking how I’m doing

I can tell you that after 7 years of sleeping on my couch witch i might add is a support element to the condition of sleep apnea. You see i have found that by sleeping on a couch it doesn't allow you to roll on your back, when you are sleeping on your back (witch everyone has a natural tendency to do ) this allows all of the three factors of sleep apnea to function one is your tonsils to falling back in your throat blocking off your airway, if this isn’t corrected you can suffer a seizure this can also happen with acid reflux another underlying culprit of sleep apnea and the collapse of your hard pallet. one of the aspects is acid reflux from something you have eaten prior to bed time the acid reflux will cut off your esophagus whether your sleeping on your back but is effecting. your quality of sleep. The other problem is nasal problem usually stemming from smoking or related problems this makes you sleep with your mouth open again causing a collapse of your esophagus
These problems quick fixes are sleep on your side only and also drink alka seltzer prior to bed time also keep water by your bed for those who sleep with your mouth open these quick fixes will get you on the road to recovery. remember if your not dreaming then your not sleeping it took me 6 months before i started to dream again. I got there by also having a stiff drink before bed you see your body has to be very relaxed to get to the state of restful sleep
Allen S Thanks! I think this could be my issue.
Now I know why I almost exclusively sleep on the side. One or two times every three months I wake up on the back and always had the feeling of suffocation at quick wakening. Also my dreams reflected suffocation in this rare occurences. In the past I slept more on the back but at this time I was 60 pounds lighter. My goal is now to lose 40 pounds.
Always happens to me when I sleep on my back, ehh,too bad because I kinda love sleeping on my back.
Sleeping on my side has not helped my apnea at all
Thanks man trying right now 🙏
I have sleep apnea. Genetic from my dad..... I was diagnosed when I was 15 and I haven’t used my CPAP since then..😬😬 I’m 17 now and I’m afraid to get heart disease so I’m using it again

A symptom I had when my sleep apnea was bad was an uncomfortable feeling in my chest throughout the day, but especially in the morning. Not pain exactly, but a heavy, dragging, achy discomfort that drained you of energy and enthusiasm. I don't know if it was my heart or lungs - or maybe both - but I now assume it was from the extra work either or both had to put in when I stopped breathing, or maybe the lack of oxygen. I've not heard this mentioned much, do other people recognize it?
I have this exact thing I don’t know what to do about it I’m only 12 and it scares me I talk to me parents about it but they won’t take me to the doctor
abbigrace0 1 talk to you parents and if they don’t lesson talk to you counselors a school
Did you had some heart history, and please guide how did you cover come your problem.
@@teddybear1284 I had no heart history I'm aware of, I just think it was the repeated oxygen starvation and hard work made it ache. I'm not surprised to be honest. I've improved my apnea a lot with a dental device that pushes my lower jaw forwards and stops my throat from closing. Don't currently need CPAP, but keeping it monitored.
tjlift22 I’ve been thinking about talking to my counselor
I couldn't sleep during that
this scares me so bad! im afraid i wont wake up. this is very serious its causes my anxiety to go up

Joseph W any news on this I have this same thing and it’s beating me down making me feel so stressed I’m also waking up sweating g from it after I finally do fall asleep
Omg yes I have anxiety it's so bad man I can't sleep good I hate this so bad feeling like my blood is rushing through my body feels like I can't catch enough air especially if I lay on my bad I'm scared because of it makes my chest feel uncomfortable.
I keep getting up dizzy, I'm breathing fine then as soon as I doze off I wake up taking deep breaths like I stopped breathing.. scared to fall asleep..
I have the same thing. As I’m falling asleep I suddenly feel something stop, and I rapidly get up and the first thing instinctively do is gasp for air. This has woken me up so many times but I notice it mainly happens when Im sleeping on my back. It tends to lessen or not happen if I sleep head down. But the problem with that is a stiff neck
Updates?
Thanks !
My Dad was the one who help me identify that I had it
Onabill Choudhury how did you know
Geesus Plug Maybe they watched them while they slept? Since you can tell when people stop breathing and count how many times it happens.
What treatment did u do
Are u still alive???
I don't know what I have when I was younger I would wake up gasping for air and I would eventually throw up. Now I'm 19 the throwing up part pretty much went away when I was in Middle School but every once in awhile I wake up in the middle of night gasping for air sometimes it's so extreme that I ripped my curtains off and I open the window gasping for air. It's scary cuz the first 3 seconds feels like you're dying it happens soo fast I did my research before but I don't really see anything out there that I have. I get them like every 2 months like 7 times a year
last night i was like im not breathing at all when i was sleeping, then i woke up breathing hard
I'm not sure of its sleep apnea but almost every night when I sleep I wake up in the middle of the night coughing from feeling like my airways was closed up and I cough waking myself up needing water in like wtf?
That is a part of dehydration
I lately discovered this stop snoring solution 4SnoringRemedy.blogspot.in and am doing the routines fairly regularly. Do you wake up with fast heart rate?
I was in that moment when I was almost unconscious. I was about to almost sleep. And then I felt I wasn't breathing. I woke up. And tried again. And i woke up because I was not breathing again. And when I woke up I feel like air is running out. I don't feel the satisfaction on breathing. I feel like I'm getting half oxygen than I usually intake when I breathe it's not the same. And my chest feels hot inside and I feel like theres two hands pressing my chest down. And since Im not satisfied with the oxygen I'm getting, it's causing me to breathe faster Idk what's happening to me.
And also Im a chain smoker, been like this for four years now. I just turned 18 last December 2019.
