Again, I needed to hear this today. Not because I think KDP is over saturated. I've learned so much in the last three months, and still learning, that I'm going in on my first 15 books and changing keywords and covers. I'm also need to change some of my AI interiors. I ordered a few of my books... and now I know why I don't have any reviews; people are being kind. A couple of decent selling coloring books are not good. The interiors are utterly dreadful. When I received the books yesterday, I felt sick to my stomach. Yes, today will be a long day of getting it right and reuploading.

Honestly, YES, it is saturated. With lazy, easy, non-niche notebooks, unicorn coloring books, etc. You have to find your niches, then success. It takes work and creativity. But doable.

I've noticed that in entertainment niches people tend to buy new books even without reviews when I published my first AI coloring book. Somehow it just took of with very little ad spend (especially in the UK). Something I haven't seen previously as I was publishing in education niche where it seems people tend to buy more established books.

I am relatively new to this, but from my experience you can even make a profit from notebooks if you do it the right way. Be original and don't niche down, because there isn't enough traffic. This is pertaining to notebooks. When it comes to medium and high content that is a different story. You also have to be willing to take extra time to create marketing content for each of these books. Times have past where you can throw a bunch of useless content out there and hope something will stick. Sometimes books take time to get traction so be patient! Complete a project and move on. Don't wait for it to make money. Good luck!

KDP cannot actually be saturated the way people think. Besides, the pluses far outweigh the minuses:
    1. You basically have access to a 24/7 - 365 open shop for hundreds of millions of people.
    2. There are thousands of niches and fresh ones coming in all the time.
    3. Thousands of people and books aren't you competition anyway if you're serious, even if they're in your niche, whether because they really suck, will never get of the ground or are making some other mistake.
    4. Even the original giants aren't endlessly safe as others will take them over eventually or some new technology makes their books/workbooks obsolete as well as just the passage of time.
    5. People are just different and do not like the same things, even within a small niche.
    And much, much more!

Well, I would not say that KDP is easy. In my case, for example, I have the extra hurdle of being a total beginner and not know anything of graphic design. But I would not say that is impossible at all. Especially for those who have skills in graphic design.

Appreciating your latest video - yet again. However, I notice a trend where a lot of people seem to be replicating what's shown in UA-cam videos. It might help to spike the view count of UA-camrs, but it doesn't necessarily increase the sales of those who put genuine effort into their books.
Sometimes, it feels as though many KDP publishers are merely rushing things, maybe looking for a quick win. It's crucial for us to remember the value of originality and hard work in this space. This is something I hope future discussions and videos could also emphasize.
    Keep up the good work!

This is the most motivational video I'll probably watch all year. One of the concepts that always gave me pause about keywords in kdp, affiliate marketing, etc., is authority, or how some content on the first pages would ALWAYS be there. Knowing now that there's room for new content on page 1, even in saturated niches is incredibly motivating. Thanks so much, Paul Marles, for this video. I'm so glad I found your channel.
