Dale, I have wanted to understand your philosophy to beaver trapping. Thank you for this video, front foot catches without drowning makes sense now. Thank you.
Pulled for snowmagedon on Saturday. Think I’ll be back out mid week if I can get my four wheeler thru the drifts we’ve got. Going to be cold for the next 10 days as far out as I can see but at least it won’t be muddy like it has been. Drew a lot of areas to beaver trap so I’m looking forward to it running my beaver line. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent video Dale, Thanks for sharing. We got hit with several inches of snow here in Illinois so I pulled my line now I am gonna wait a day or so then go reset for some coyotes! Have a great day
Great information Dale. Makes sense to me. Especially the part on making the set where you want it! That is the biggest take I got from this video. Thank you for that.
It's amazing to me how fast a beaver gets educated when they see dead beaver. Definitely important to catch them in the first couple of checks. If not, the real fun begins
Another reason why I like long chaining is because people say you can’t do it gives me another reason to do it that way😂. Plus I feel like I’m going after them like a Mountain Man. Especially using the #5 Bridger Double long spring on 10’ of Chain and targeting the Backfoot.
Tyler I have no idea buddy. But you're right. I quit wearing bibs long ago. And this is the first year I've worn a pull over sweatshirt to be honest with you. Takes some getting used to but they ain't too bad. Thank you for watching
Here's one Dale, using this high jawed # 3 coil for beaver with the chain rig and stake/anchor ---- have you ever used this set up in weather like this where an isolated open water spot might show beaver activity coming up on the bank to chew or circumvent a dam's ice. You get it where the temps are in the teens during the days and single digits at night but there is open water in a few spots. What's your experience in those conditions with this method?...... the mike
It works just fine Mike. I've even taken an axe or mall and busted big holes in the ice near the bank to make sets and caught beaver this way. It works just fine. Thank you for watching
Great info Dale. Thanks for everything you do for us trappers.
It's my pleasure John. I appreciate y'all too

Why is it that when I wear a heavy vest and a sweat shirt I can be comfortable down to about 5dg, but when I wear bibs and a coat I freeze at 20?

Good info. What's your opinion on using poli fill in stead of pan covers?
It works fine Todd. I just prefer to increase my pan area if I can. Thank you for watching
Waitin' on beaver ........... I've done it too !!! 🤣🤣🤣
Ain't we all Otter Cat? 😂
Dale, if your not drowning otter do you use Bridger #3 and long chain or cable for them also.
No Travis. I like the #11 with factory length chain for otters
Dale what's the best way to dispatch your live beaver
A 22 pew pew to the noggin Gerald. Thank you for watching
