Marvelous work George, this is inspirational, coming from a South African, it's awesome to see this model come to life, you've convinced me to take the plunge!
"I can't be bothered". Yup. Sums it up for me as well. Just not feeling that holiday spirit. But I've got a loco on my bench and it's raining outside here too. Cheers for the inspiration.
Absolutely brilliant, I'm definitely going to add one of these to my upcoming OO9 layout, Gwynt Cul! Looking forward to seeing how you finish yours out.
Great stuff George. You have given me the kick up the backside I needed to get my Michael Tucker kit out of the drawer and give it a go. I'll be following with interest.
I am contemplating getting one of the so be following your builds with interest. The live audio was absolutely fine. Hopefully you survived the storm OK - rellies who live on the Llyn peninsula lost power for nearly a week. All electric living and an electric car aren't perhaps such the good idea the Government thinks they are but at least you're saving the plant if you freeze to death with no heating and can't get anywhere.
What a cool little engine! Honestly, the live commentary is a refreshing change, it’s nice to hear more of your personality and live reactions going into things. Great work George
Such a cool engine, there's a couple in Australia too, No.127 and No.129 in Victoria on the Puffing Billy railway, 127 came with a load of spare parts which helped return 129 to steam, although 127 is on display currently it sounds like it might be possible to have both operational with both the parts and it's overall condition 129's return to service is fairly recent too, only being in 2019 after 23 years of work
This looks great s9 far, can’t wait to see more! I really like the welsh highland garrets and somehow I never knew about this kit! Also laughed at 17:43 because me and two of my friends play the trumpet, one of my friends plays the trombone, and two of my friends play the saxophone 😭

I would love to have a Garrett someday on my narrow gauge layout… I’m hope someday some1 or peco or bachmann uk, could make one of the 0-4-0-0-4-0 Garrett’s.
It's looking good, George 👍. Looking forward to the rest of the build. I wonder if we'll see a ready to run Garratt anytime soon from the manufacturers 🤔.
Hi George, for me you easily have the most interesting 009/HOe site. This is such an interesting model. The chassis assembled in really well. From an overseas perspective, 3D printing is the only way to go. The UK prototypes in RTR are terribly limited compared to the huge array of narrow gauge steam used world wide. Even European HOe bottoms out fairly quickly, but you can find a chassis for anything … Will the day come when you start cutting out every second spoke in an N Gauge donor chassis?
I noticed when you bent the crosshead you bent it with the half etch line to the outside, etches are normally bent with the half etch line to the inside. (Unless the instructions specifically state otherwise)
Fantastic video as always..may I ask as to what you will do with all the bits you stripped off the 08s? If you looking to get rid of them would be interested for a N scale project
And yet the double fsrlie is already a pre made model to get from a shop or online instantly . Whilst this I have to make it myself . But honestly I prefer this for being a huge model and being all so cool to me . But hey Ho . They both cost money … and I don’t got none of that 😂

Or I may get some other person to do it . Maybe my local model shop could … they have a loop of different scales of track . I remember taking my class 66 in N scale … and it looked funny next to a double farlie in 009 . But anyways I recon they could do the valvegear … but for now I recon that’s not my main issue However my concern is how do the tank and tender couple to the centre body of the boiler ? By gravity or some form of screw to hold it all . I ain’t a fan of gravity to hold my models together . And I can’t glue them since they gotta swivel , that’s my only issue with it .
