They had some top-notch artists then. Cockrum, Grell, James Sherman, Pat Broderick and Giffen! I got into LoSH w/Levitz/Giffen and worked my way back. BTW, there's two LoSH trade paperbacks that reprint three years earlier. I think they're called "Darkness ascending" or something. They don't really have anything to do with Darkseid, it's just a marketing strategy to let fans know what era is being reprinted. Yeah, those two characters are daft.
Bouncing Boy and M-E-L were throw away characters at best to pad out the 26 member roster. JMO. LOL.The Great Darkness Saga was-GREAT-tho ( they should do an animated film on this storyline )Levitz and Giffen had a very good run on this title.
Plus, you take away Batman rogues gallery and DC has no real cool villains so they have to fall back to Darkseid. He's DC's Doctor Doom but far more powerful.
I was a Marvel guy, too and never bought these but have heard that this is the series really established Darkseid as DC’s top villain.
Imagine buying these issues off the rack monthly and you see the reveal of Darkseid.
I thought the same about Cosmic Boy's outfit too !
John Forte first drew "Lone Wolf" in Adventure 327
Wow! That goes back a ways! I may have to check it out (in a beat-up copy so I don't go broke).
@@drewgeraci8434 If you "Google" the issue number, you can see a blurb on the bottom of the cover with a picture of Timber Wolf (Lone Wolf).
Matter-Eater Lad & Bouncing Boy never made sense to me. Mike Grell’s Art on LSH made it one of my favorites when I was a kid

Darkseid! One of the best villians in DC that is usually used in a shitty manner…lol.

I think only The Legion of superheroes and many superheroes in that story...can beat Darkseid...
