Remember it like it was yesterday! We were not expecting it to hit us and it made such a quick turn right at us!! Without power and water for well over a month, Lost power almost immediately, our little coastal paradise town was like a war zone, it was heart breaking! Got very nervous when Irma threatened us a few yrs ago, charley was small but oh so mighty! It was a very sad time for out community.

I know the sustained winds were 150, but what about the gusts? This wasen't much weaker than Micheal that hit the panhandle last year.

Timothy Gore charley had sub stained winds of 150mph, gust I believe were 170-180mph. Michael had sub stained winds of 160mph, gust were 180-190mph. Hope this answers your question.
