Listening to this at 3 in the morning hits different, and honestly alot of childhood memories from the early 2000s are hitting harder then usual. From a kid growing up playing final fantasy, Jak and daxter, kingdom hearts, to even watching cartoons like kids next door, billy and mandy, and even ed, edd, n eddy, but now im an adult simply working my days away paying taxes trying to make a living like anyone else out there. How we all wish to be a child again... to simply live care free life, and not giving a damn what the world thinks of us. The world was alot brighter back when we were kids, it was even calmer then too. The world to us seemed warm and bigger then we imagined, but now has become small and cold. The only thing we could cling on now is our memories of a simpler time... a fun time... a time where we grew up without worry.
There is a melancholy for Nostalgia. We had set sail into the unknown and uncharted world and soon found it to be a mundane sea with sporadic storms. We at time want to look back, to return to what we saw of our homeland, but the seas of time has eroded it away. All that remains and all it ever shall be is a memory. But sometimes for the briefest of instances, we return, we are home and in those moments, we cherish and we are happy having knowing these moments.
This track, gets me every time. I'm due to be turning 30 in 2 months, feels like my life has gone by so fast. I grew up with this game, played the demo over and over again until I got the full game. My dad was still around then, my old cat, but they're both gone now. I miss them every day, life is stressful and hectic nowadays....but one day I hope to find my calm. The calm where I can just lay back, pop in my headphones and put on this track again, share it with the soulmate I hope to meet one day and just embrace in that moment saying we made it. I wish anyone that comes by this track well, in this world and the Farplane. ❤

This track always brings me back to the summer of 2002 when I was a teenager playing the game for the first time and it was my brothers wedding that summer. Old memories of a time I will never forget.
I'm a few years younger than you, born in 1994, but I feel just the same. The somber nature of the track and the arc that it's used in takes you right back to formative years. I was in a beanie bag chair struggling with my yellow AVI cables and wedged a piece of balled-up paper in there to keep the visuals displaying consistently, and experiencing my first jrpg. I remember every detail of that point in my young life around this game, and this track in particular. I miss those days.
This is exactly what stirs memories. Anything that can tie you to a place, a time, a feeling. Sometimes, all it takes is music - and instantly it's 20 years ago.
Same here, gameboy and duck hunt were mesmerizing lol. There’s only a few video games that come close to this since the early days for me. FFX changed the meaning of RPGs and story telling.

I replayed Final Fantasy X during the Summer of 2010 after a very difficult time in my life when I thought I could no longer experience beauty again. I felt really numb to everything. This game was super comforting at the time. Funny enough, whenever I hear this music again I'm reminded of that time in my life and all the beauty I did experience at the time comes back to me. Perhaps another reminder that beauty is everywhere.

FFX will hands down be the best final fantasy game to me. The story, the religious aspects, the lies and deceit that went through that game opened my eyes to so many things and remembering the emotions of when i first 100% the game still brings tears to my eyes. Auron, Jecht, Yuna's father, The Aeons and all the people who sacrificed their lives for the world of Spira to push back Sin will never be forgotten.
Funny how this OST has a longing, soothing vibe and yet. So many years ago I played this game with my late partner. She always love watching me play this game and telling me how much this song brought emotion to it's scenes. I have to agree with her when it came to that not for that but for what it brought me back as I listen to this song now a days - remembrance.

First time firing this game up almost 20 years ago as a kid. Little did I know I would be getting myself into the adventure of a lifetime and still hold this game close to me 20 years later as an adult. Absolute masterpiece between the story, the characters, the gameplay, and the soundtrack.
I've discarded my biological father, have not seen him since I was 11 or so. My own personal reasons. 36 now. We have to move forward. But I too sometimes like to look to the past "if this music is playing while i'm doing so, the more I linger in that empty void" and ponder what could have been.
My dad tried fighting me the last time we were in the same room together. My earliest memory is when i was 3 i watched him punch out the passenger side window of my moms car in front of her. I'd tell you i wish i never met him, but its easier now having lived through it.
There's something so calming about this, whether it's the instruments, the atmosphere or the tone of the composition. Something soothing resonates from the wandering flames. It makes me think of the vastness of the calm lands, the echoes of this tune working their way through the canyons, through every cave and every cravas. Perhaps the soul of Lady Ginnem may find peace at long last on the farplane.

I had the privilege to experience all of it, sometimes it brings tears to my eyes, these were time when the internet wasnt as big and you literally had to go and physically buy strategy guides. Its INSANE so many wonderful memories, my brother hated RPG'S and yet since I was the youngest we would all get together and they'll watch me play because the story is so good. Were all grown now... and so far away.....

I was in a pretty wild head space when I made this comment. Just got a surprised divorce after 14 years of marriage. Left alone with two pre teen sons to raise. What curveballs life can sometimes throw at us, eh?
This sound captures perfectly, quite literally... the calm before the storm. In the game they know they must complete a task which will bring harmony to the world, however in doing so it means sacrificing one of their friends in order to make it happen. It's almost like the calm part in a mystical world where they are all struggling to constantly come up with a unique idea or answer to solve the riddle. But at this stage in the game - they are almost already conceded to the fact that they may be running out of time and out of options. So they all sit there and reflect on their journey so far. It's nostalgic, and sums up Final Fantasy 10 completely.

This song is One of the reasons because seeing Zanarkand after crossing the Gagazet mountain is very memorable, it gives that scene a emotion of imponence and sadness because here it is, the location that you were going to all this time, but is not anymore your home, or the key to defeat sinh and be happy

When I first played ffx it froze on me at Rikki's introduction. The second time I played ffx it froze again at the same spot. The third time I bought the game the same time happened. I really liked the game so I bought it for the fourth time and I finally got past it and eventually the whole game. It was completely worth it too.

I replayed Final Fantasy X during the Summer of 2010 after a very difficult time in my life when I thought I could no longer experience beauty again. I felt really numb to everything. This game was super comforting at the time. Funny enough, whenever I hear this music again I'm reminded of that time in my life and all the beauty I did experience at the time comes back to me. Perhaps another reminder that beauty is everywhere.

FFX will hands down be the best final fantasy game to me. The story, the religious aspects, the lies and deceit that went through that game opened my eyes to so many things and remembering the emotions of when i first 100% the game still brings tears to my eyes. Auron, Jecht, Yuna's father, The Aeons and all the people who sacrificed their lives for the world of Spira to push back Sin will never be forgotten.
Funny how this OST has a longing, soothing vibe and yet. So many years ago I played this game with my late partner. She always love watching me play this game and telling me how much this song brought emotion to it's scenes. I have to agree with her when it came to that not for that but for what it brought me back as I listen to this song now a days - remembrance.
During my funeral I wish this music to be played non pause ... It really gives peace everytime I fail in life ... Its my personal theme, perfect music for battles lost one after another

First time firing this game up almost 20 years ago as a kid. Little did I know I would be getting myself into the adventure of a lifetime and still hold this game close to me 20 years later as an adult. Absolute masterpiece between the story, the characters, the gameplay, and the soundtrack.

I've discarded my biological father, have not seen him since I was 11 or so. My own personal reasons. 36 now. We have to move forward. But I too sometimes like to look to the past "if this music is playing while i'm doing so, the more I linger in that empty void" and ponder what could have been.
My dad tried fighting me the last time we were in the same room together.
My earliest memory is when i was 3 i watched him punch out the passenger side window of my moms car in front of her. I'd tell you i wish i never met him, but its easier now having lived through it.

There's something so calming about this, whether it's the instruments, the atmosphere or the tone of the composition. Something soothing resonates from the wandering flames. It makes me think of the vastness of the calm lands, the echoes of this tune working their way through the canyons, through every cave and every cravas. Perhaps the soul of Lady Ginnem may find peace at long last on the farplane.
It's an odd theme since it's always surrounding death. It's like the eerie calmness of a cemetery. Everything is still, nothing moves.

I never grew up with Final Fantasy. I only played Final Fantasy XIV when I was 18. Yet, this song makes me feel nostalgic for a childhood I never had.
I had the privilege to experience all of it, sometimes it brings tears to my eyes, these were time when the internet wasnt as big and you literally had to go and physically buy strategy guides.
Its INSANE so many wonderful memories, my brother hated RPG'S and yet since I was the youngest we would all get together and they'll watch me play because the story is so good.
Were all grown now... and so far away.....
I was in 6th grade when FFX came out and it was life changing. 2001 was a great year for movies and games. Lord of the rings graced theaters Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back as well, rumors of Attack of the Clones was rising. Nostalgia is an understatement yep

This sound captures perfectly, quite literally... the calm before the storm. In the game they know they must complete a task which will bring harmony to the world, however in doing so it means sacrificing one of their friends in order to make it happen. It's almost like the calm part in a mystical world where they are all struggling to constantly come up with a unique idea or answer to solve the riddle. But at this stage in the game - they are almost already conceded to the fact that they may be running out of time and out of options. So they all sit there and reflect on their journey so far. It's nostalgic, and sums up Final Fantasy 10 completely.

Friend of mine, he and i played this when much younger, sittin there, playing that game, listening to somber tracks like this, little did i know how much id look back, even beyond since we played this game. When I first played ffx it froze on me at Rikki's introduction. The second time I played ffx it froze again at the same spot. The third time I bought the game the same time happened. I really liked the game so I bought it for the fourth time and I finally got past it and eventually the whole game. It was completely worth it too.
