What I took away from this most is I severely underestimated how good the exhaust cards are. I thought they were bad and never picked them. How foolish.
I never even considered giving up HPs for energy. What a fool I've been! Anyone else have to pause the vid every millisecond to see Baalor's plays? His voice may be smooth, but his play is like lightning.
3 months ago, but god damn- Not only is his brain fast as hell, but it's goal oriented AND flexible. Plus he goes out of his way to be considerate. Some people just really do just have it all.
@52:30 that's not true, Iron Wave is also affected (directly, no less) by both Frail and Weakness. Though if you only play A20 I can understand forgetting it even exists.
I think he meant in a multiplicative sense, since, as an example if you play impervious + body slam, you get 40 block from impervious and 40 damage out of the body slam, but with weak + frail you get 30 out of the impervious, and 22 out of the body slam, whereas with Dash/Iron Wave, both stats get on either card only get reduced by 25%.
Berserk is one of the most slept on cards. It does really need the upgrade, but you can often find a turn to play it where it won't hurt you. Also, just ask if you would be willing to pay health for energy. If you like Bloodletting then you should like Berserk.
Thanks so much for this. I felt like I was plateauing at the game, so I checked this video out just to compare your decisions to my decisions. I was so excited at how much I was learning I started an ironclad game while I was watching the video. I saw IMMEDIATE improvement in how I built my deck (and it was a completely different build-spot weakness + heavy blade, so not just "copy the cards in the video"). I'm definitely going to check out videos you've done with the other characters, but I would argue even this one video can give anyone some general improvements on how to play.
Man I really wanted to see the thumbnail actually be done.. I know you don’t like heavy blade so I was curious to see you use it.. too good to be true! 😩
Technically correct but he relied a lot on Sundial to add energy. That was how he was able to play Shrug It Off and Pommel Strike without eventually running out of energy. Dropkick refunds an energy allowing it to go infinite on its own but the added draw of Pommel Strike and the Block plus draw from Shrug it Off also came in handy. Especially Shrug it Off against heart.
Could be wrong, but basically sinced the dazed exhaust themselves its better to exhaust the strikes/defends to make it more likely you draw a non strike/defend (ie hand of greed)
@@jjrulez1596 That would apply in a context were 1.5 dazed by turn isn't added to the deck (or 4.5 for the first turns). I can't see it apply here. You want to have anything to spend your energy in, even basics.
@@redford4ever I know you don’t understand it but he’s correct it was because they exhaust themselves so he wanted to go ahead and get rid of them even though you could have taken it either way. @@HardxCorpsxKali I do understand that mechanic and as opposed to you I quantify its effect. It's not appropriate when your opponent add junk cards every turn to your deck. Did SLS changed the difficulty? I'm on ascension 16 and the enemies (even the regular), hit harder than what I see in your videos at ascension 20. I get regular fights with multiple enemies hitting 12-18 on turn one.
Some enemies do have semi random attack patterns and/or damage amounts. I know that the triple jawworm fight for example can be really scary if they all attack turn 1 and your draw isn't good.

Thinning the deck allows to cycle faster, just as drawing cards.
