Getting ready to enable this in my environment.. Anything specific that I should look out for? The process seems pretty straight forward, but we all know that nothing ever goes as planned in the IT world. LOL
Thanks for the great guide. Nice that it's a lot easier to deal with device drivers especially on a Dell only site. One question though, is there a way to deploy BIOS updates with a password protected BIOS'?
Thanks for the guide. The bios for exaple, after its downloaded and showing required in the library do you just deploy it like regular windows updates at that point? Ton of videos and guides deploying the agent but i cant find anyone that actually deploys a driver or bios updates.
Great Video. I've deployed the Inventory to some test machines and now I'm seeing the "Required" field updated. But I'm not at all clear at how I target the updates. Do I include them all in a Software Update Group and target to a Collection of "Dell devices" Is there a follow-up video with instructions? I'll keep looking...
did you figure this one out ? just curious....are your test machines all one model? if not how did you manage to identify which driver updates belong to which model?
Hello, we currently don’t have dedicated support on UA-cam, but don’t worry-you can get 24/7 live assistance through Facebook, Twitter and Dell Community Forum (DCF). Hello , is it possible to create an automatic software deployment rule in SCCM for an specific Dell model (latitude 5400). Where we can update only the drivers for this model. Thanks in advance and looking forward your answer.

Why I cannot choose specific Dell laptop models in 3rd party catalog for synchronization ? There is alot of drivers in "Latititude" category I dont' need to get bothered with.
yes - same problem - did you work this one out. apparently there are "categories" that can be used. Ive selected those "categories" in configmgr but when I'm looking at alot of drivers i dont clearly see a segregation between drivers for each model of Dell.
While in theory this sounds great, it's garbage. Most people try it and abandon it. In my experience bios updates are always one version behind and the applicability rules for drivers are garbage. I end up having to script an install due to the fact that sccm shows about 75% of the updates as "not required."
I have a question I logged on my window 8 and it said a filenis missing so I searched it up and I tried everything and nothing work so can please help me

What would you do to make it better? This is pretty awesome if you ask me.. Much better than manually importing drivers and much easier than having to deploy BIOS upgrades using tools such as PowerShell.
Perfect DEMO, it worked today, with Dell OpenManage Inventory client 2.9.0.0 deployed on Win10 20H2 client, from a SCCM server 2002 (5.00.8968.1000)

Ditto. Please let us know if you stumble across a deployment guide.

This mass of actions being taken only to manage one GOAL (keep clients drivers and firmware up to date and secure) is very sad!
