What beautiful regalia are worn by these dancers! Love these dancers! I danced once with the Lakota at Crazy Horse Memorial. I am part Cherokee and have danced with the clan in Cherokee, NC. Loved every minute of it. I just absolutely love the watch the dancers especially the children. Thank you so much for this awesome video.
Thank you for sharing , love to watch , and glad to see the youth participate. My wife and I go from NW Kansas to our daughters place by Great Falls Montana , hope to make some kind of event on our trips , depending upon timing. Much Respect & Blessings.
I love these videos. I am not of this ethnicity (trying not to be insensitive or rude) but I have to ask when the drummers are making their singing sounds like I have heard with the Northern Cree Singers... are they singing words or something to the equivalent to "La dee dee, la dee da" ? My ears cannot always pick out the subtleties of language. I speak a few languages, not fluently, but even in the languages I do know I am aware that I am missing some sounds and cannot fully reproduce them. Thank you. Another thing I love about seeing this recording is how the culture is actively maintained by including children, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged adults, and even some older folks. It is all inclusive! Amazing!
How do most people/tribe members learn the songs to these drum beats?? Would one almost have to know and/or speak the tribal language to be able to sing and learn these songs?? I'm just curious because I try to listen to the sounds of these songs. Any answers or input about this is greatly appreciated!!!
@@jsoo67 my uneducated guess is, if they had the means to wear such colorful clothes 200 years ago, they definitely would've. I think this is just a natural evolution of the tradition, and it looks cool tbh.

A PROFESSED BLACK MAN, SAY.
IT'S NOT THE CLOTHES THAWT MAKE THE MAN.
BUT...
IT IZ THE MAN WHO MAKES THE CLOTHES OR REGALIA.

Something tells me 200 years ago they weren't wearing such colorful outfits, especially neon.
They also weren't allowed to pow wow so there are some changes
@@bigmophx enlightened me, on the changes. I'm genuine. I'm not trying to be a smartass.
Times change.
