Alois Tomek as ive already said this card is just a reflashed r9 270 essentially, so "overclocking" it would just make a r9 270. There's no gap to fill ya see, at least not a profitable one in amd's eyes. So that is why the r7 265x does not exist, your welcome.

i know its not really relevant, but today i went into my local pc world to buy a laptop for £400 just for general use like online browsing and word documents then they tried selling it to me for £590 with all the bullcrap that i couldn't buy the laptop without... any way long story short the guy tried to sell me a crappy £200 laptop for £500 then started comparing a 2.4ghz i3 as a ferrari. any way the laptop i ended getting for £360 off amazon and i am now banned from every pc world in the north west for telling the guy to shove the laptop up his own arse....
I interrupted a sale on a tv in pc world because i over heard the sales man trying to sell the old man buying the tv a HDMI cable for £40.. £40!! I just interrupted and told the guy buying the tv not to buy anything other than the tv because the same HDMI cable could be purchased for £2 off amazon.. He then left not buying anything :D Hate how they try to rip people off all the time!
It's actually ridiculous, shame there isnt any more big retailers that compete with them besides amazon now :/

Honestly, it would be better to get an NVIDIA GTX 750, you can get one on NewEgg for about $120 U.S. Dollars, and it gets better FPS than the R7 265. www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125503
GTAArmy James The r7 265 gets better FPS than the 750 but is pretty even with the 750 ti. However the r7 265 would be the better choice because if you need more performance down the road you can always get another one and use crossfire but with the 750 and 750 ti you can't since they aren't sli compatible.

The R7 265 is significantly faster than the 750 Ti.
Even after overclocking the 750 Ti, the R7 265 should remain ahead.

I also don't like the fact that you guys keep benchmarking on games that favor Nvidia in the R9 290 & R9 290X videos. Either mix it up a bit or just benchmark neutral games.

i too wish they would've talked a bit more about the card. I'm still not sold on which card to buy under $150 u.s. I understand getting paid is important, but viewers are their bread and butter. Maybe 40% of this vid was about the card and 60% sponsored crap. should be at least 60/40.
Bryan Bonin If you want a card for $150 then I'd say go for either the MSI or EVGA GTX 750 ti.
They both get 60fps on 900p and around 30-50 on 1080p. on High. (Results on ultra may varry) Of course games like Crysis 3 will be harder to run. But they are performance GPUs.

I recently built my first computer. I feel the pain caused by miners. It took lots of effort to find one that wasn't needlessly expensive.

Scrypt ASICs are coming out so I'd say no, not really. Miners have already started selling their mining cards in bulk and used card prices have plummeted.
New prices have been falling since the beginning of March. Now the 280X is pretty much back down to MSRP along with the 270 and 270X. The R9 290 is still a bit high in the $450 range compared to its $399 MSRP, but it should fall back down too in a few weeks. 290X is a weird case. Cheaper non reference cards are just $10-$20 from MSRP, but there are also quite a few other ones in the $600-$700 range.

Also, great card for the price, i've been recommending Sapphire every single time I can, their quality is excellent.
My sapphire 4890 is still kicking in my friend's pc! My GTX 560ti died after 2 years.
You somehow do your ads mid-video in a way that makes me like you, instead of hating you for doing ads mid-video.

its better than a 7850. the r7 250 is a 7850 rebrand.
A 7850 is a 270, a 7870 is a 270X. (280 = 7950, 280x = 7970)

If he advertises someone = $2 - $50 per ads. Depends on the company and I think it depends per 1K views of the video.
Since a lot of people use adblock meaning he doesn't earn money off their views so he does in video ads in order to make up for the lost revenue.
he is a full time you tuber, it's his work to make this vids for us, totally free for us, and the only thing we get in exchange for this free vids and advice is this quite funny commercial thing
As more and more use adblockers you will see a lot of youtubers getting sponsored somehow, with google ads now you earn about 0.5$ / 1k views because of adblockers, 50$ for a 100.000 view video is quite slim, i've made 0.33$ out of 3500 views and 4 days of watchtime so yeah... put UA-cam on exception's list to repay all those content creators :D

That skit was fantastic. The skit was great for those who have been subscribed for a while and followed the razor situation with Luke. So seeing him get a new razor (and advertising at the same time!) was satisfying. I also liked the segue into Luke's review; it just felt relaxed and fun.

Indeed, the 7850 was the first GPU I ever bought. It can run all games on 1080p mid-high smoothly and iirc it's faster than a 750 Ti. It's got Mantle too if you play BF or some other games that run Mantle.
Or you could stretch your budget and get a 270, which is also good value for money.

It's "overdue" at OcUK and they tend to get the big cards a little earlier than most. There is a review of the card running under LN2 on their forum too by record holder "8pack" which is good.

I personally believe that having 2:50 minutes worth of adds and 2:25 minutes worth of content in a 5:15 video is not really ok especially since one of the adds is at the beginning of the video and all that excluding the popup add before the video even starts...

If you are building a budget build with a card around this price I'd recommend reading the article on Eurogamer titled "The Digital Foundry 2015 graphics card upgrade guide";

They tested their cards on their test bench with an i7 4970K, but then repeated the result using an i3 4130 processor. This is important, considering on a budget build you will be more likely to be pairing an i3 with a r7 265 or GTX 750ti.
Swapping to an i3 they noticed a significant drop in performance on the R9 270X & R7 260X cards, whereas the GTX 750ti remained consistent across the two CPUs.
They then ran a benchmark with the i7 bench vs AMD A10 5800K CPU, 750ti performance dipped (with frame stutter) against the i7 but the R9 270X framerate seemed to be cut in half on COD AW;

Just something to bare in mind. But for gaming, I wouldn't recommend an i3 anyway due to some games l now "requiring" quad core CPUs. Probably best going for a quad core AMD or an i5 CPU.
No offense to AMD fans here, their cards are great, but GTX 780 holds the best price/perfomance ratio today and has enough power to play this and next year games on high (not ultra) settings at 40-60 fps (i mean DragonAge 3, Witcher3, Star Citizen...) without a too much problem.
R7 265 is a solution for those who is not patient enough (don`t have steady income, being student or other important reason) to collect ~500 dollars on a DECENT (not the best, don`t get me wrong, the best is not worth its price tag) card for both gaming and professional software (Iray rendering, CUDA-related tasks, video editing...). R7 265 is a good card for its price and performs accordingly, but i don`t feel like buying a new card every year, because it becomes annoying. :)
