You know that moment when you stumble upon some new music unexpectedly, then discover it's quite possibly the best thing you've heard in ages, and that excitement refuses to die down despite the fact that it's way past my bedtime?
That's me. Right now. How (pleasantly) inconvenient.

    keya keya sorya douse ne,
keya keya sorya douse dame da.
    yamerarenai yamerarenai.
    douse damedakedo yamerarenai ne"
    "keya keya sorya douse ne,
keya keya sorya douse dame da.
    taerarenai taerarenai,
douse dame da kedo taerarenai ne"
You and me at the edge of the world
with a pretty little smile for me to see
new bright whites and a cage full of ice
and a naked little canopy to feed my disease
And if you're to smile at me
I could cry by land or sea
After you said that you like Big Red
I opened up my mind and skipped a beat
cufflinks and hands in wrong places and faces
and creepy little movies made me weep
And if you're to say to me
what is mine is yours to keep
Well you know, I'll have to see
if all the stars aligned we could've solved the mystery
    it's a partial fantasy
we're living in a land that went astray from history
You and me at the edge of the bed
looking at the faded pictures for you to see and me to see
murder and colonies, land without rivers
raging in the middle of some sad destiny
Take one look to find my eyes
    safety's in your inner thigh
Well you know, I'll have to see,
if all the stars aligned we could have solved the mystery
    it's a partial fantasy
we're living in a land that went astray from history

The end really surprised me. I never gave this guy much attention and now I regret it.

Love this. I need to listen to this driving top down, along a tropical coast line with a beer in my hand.

Why is no one talking about the badass in the Iron Maiden t-shirt tearing it up on the banjo?

I could picture this being played with an ensemble of different musicians from an orchestra to electric instruments. all the works. I think that would be pretty sweet

I'm so amazed. At the end finally I could understand the Japanese word "dou se da me da ke re do ya me ra re nai " = " It may not success easily but nobody can stop me now! " in English.

I first heard a really fresh melody used in a WIndows 8 commercial featuring picture passwords. I really liked it and fortunately didn't take much online search to find out it was Bright Whites by Kishi Bashi. An NPR article about Kishi Bashi and his work influenced by internment of Japanese Americans during WWII reminded me of Kishi Bashi. Here's the NPR piece. www.npr.org/2019/05/28/727533256/kishi-bashi-uses-the-history-of-japanese-internment-to-explore-america-today

folksie wonders, wow, great Americana. Asian American roots music genius must be the right thing to say. can't believe its been years past, where are you? we need to focus this kind of stuff, separate from the other imitation copies of mainstream genre. Asian American roots music my dream since the 1970's and now I see it happening. great vocals and concept.
