They turned out great. Don't know if you ever played Everquest but the scene you set up reminds me of fighting Klicnik swarms. Love your honesty about building with the pistachio shells.
Thanks! I've not played it, but a friend did, a lot; I'll have him describe or show them to me. Yeah, thee shells are more oily than I expected. They didn't take paint or glue, well, and tended to slip out of my hand whilst attaching them. The legs were also a bit fiddly. Happy with the result; just not the process. Thanks for the feedback!

I had no idea what you were aiming for at first, I just love these, and they look so good, they reminded me immediately of the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj scarabs on WoW. PS: I was sure I had subscribed to you months ago..I now understand why I haven't been getting your vid notifications.

I like them I can see how much of a pain they were to make but for me the end result was worth it how would u make a huge mummy bug ?
Hi, Jon! Glad you like them. In the end, I like the bugs. Just didn't like the oiliness of the shells. For really huge bugs, relative to minis, I'd likely use a large aluminium ball for the body, wrapped in ploy clay. Overtop, I'd probably use plastic toy parts or spray bottle curves, for the curvy wings. In fact, I'd've used poly clay, for the bodies of these bugs, if mine weren't all old, crumbly, and needing reconditioning

Every time I eat pistachios I feel the urge to use the shells for crafting lol. Cool stuff!
Thanks! There's a ton of stuff you can use them for. I just suggest washing them, first; hopefully the soap would make them less slippery and fiddly
