When we started speaking again the uncalled for Costal road many thinks we are doing it because we hate the government. Now we have someone who has deep understanding of Nigeria road. I have asked the question several times as a civil engineer how did they arrived at 10lanes when most of our highways are under utilize including the most used road which is Lagos-Ibadan express way. In my little engineering nothing is useful about the coastal road.

I will help you with traffic volume statistics on those route. Lagos To Shagamu has about 50k vehicle per day and that reduce with about 20k going to Ibadan while others go to ore Benin road. Besides the traffic volume not enough for a 10 lanes. The road is purely unnecessary at this moment considering the state of all other infrastructure like roads, power to say the least. As we speak out of about 30000 km of federal highway in Nigeria less than 10% are in a bit of good shape. The majority are in deplorable situation. Power sector is moribund. Considering we have 6000MW for 250 million people. It's very sad we have many unintelligent Nigeria both in government and outside who are very myopic. How could we be thinking of building new road with 15trillion when the existing road are in bad shape and you see ppl saying other countries have costal road without trying to feed themselves with necessary details. If I may ask but other countries with coastal road have power and water why don't we have it to. It's only in Nigeria you see a parent buying television for his children when they are hungry.
