This music is for women and for union between women. In this music video she represent three stories but it is for all strong woman that fight every single day for themselves and against male chauvinist. The teacher represent Iza's mother that worked all her life like teacher and passed this situation of school shooting many times because was near favelas where happen this when occured fight between cops and dealers, and this woman is a hero for Iza. I have heard that the woman who takes care of a baby is a friend of Iza who had a baby as a teenager and had to face this change of life and all the judgments of bad people. And the lawyer woman that have to defend other woman in front and from all this men, having Iza as her only ally setting on jury in fact is a trans woman actress that have face preconception every day, even to be part of a music video like that. In the end all this women are togheter in church representing this so important union that all of us most need to have.

Depends, accent of paulistas (they live in são paulo, me for example) 'de' are 'dji' too. From south of Brazil, people say 'de'. Cariocas say more 'shi', like 'ash coisash' and paulistas say more S.

Hi girls! Iza's mother was a teacher in public schools near to favelas in Rio de Janeiro and lived the same experience as the teacher in the video. Its not the school shooting that happens in USA , its a confront between the police and drug dealers that constantly happens and we have a term like "lost bullet" wich means that sometimes civils got shotted, even kids that are inside the class.

About the name: "Dona" do means owner, but in portuguese most words have gender ("a" generally as feminine words and "o" for masculine words), so literally "I own myself" but basically "she's her own person" as Keisha said

its so "interesting" to see how they perceived the school shooting scene because it shows how different and similar realities in brazil and the us can be. they probably didn't realize this but the shooting in the video isn't happening inside the school. it's happening outside, between cops and dealers

clipe, IZA não é de fato uma personagem nas histórias apresentadas, ela aparece em cada cena pra dar visibilidade àquela história, que traz personagens femininas em situações cotidianas, mulheres fortes que passam por situações reais. Dona de Mim conta a vivência de 3 mulheres, para que, desta forma, possa comunicar o que IZA tem em mente junto com sua equipe.
O clipe inicia com IZA na cozinha de uma casa, nesta cena, o clipe mostra a história de uma mãe solteira que precisa batalhar sozinha para cuidar dos filhos, o que mostra uma crítica sobre a ausência do pai, que muitas vezes sabe da gravidez e abandona o lar.
Numa segunda cena, IZA aparece numa escola vestida com um look de composição militar, nesta cena, IZA mostra a história da segunda personagem, uma professora (negra, é bom salientar), que tem sua aula interrompida por conta de um tiroteio. Pra quem não sabe, IZA nasceu em Olaria, um bairro da Zona Norte do Rio de Janeiro, e desde cedo conviveu com a violência de perto. Sua mãe, Isabel, é professora, e já ficou trancada dentro da escola por causa de tiroteio também. No clipe IZA utiliza uma personagem pra contar uma história da sua vida particular, mas sem deixar (nem por um segundo) de ter um cunho imensamente social.
Numa outra cena, IZA surge num tribunal para contar a história de mais uma personagem, uma advogada (embora não seja o foco da cena, vale salientar com finalidade representativa, que a atriz que interpreta a advogada é uma mulher trans). Na história, a advogada defende uma mulher negra que está sendo julgada por um júri formado por homens brancos, bem como, o próprio juiz (extremamente simbólico). Algemada, a mulher aparece sorrindo para sua advogada como sendo a única pessoa ali naquela sala capaz de ajudá-la, IZA traz nessa cena a sensação de que mulheres precisam ajudar umas as outras, sustentando o pilar da sororidade feminina.
Na última cena, IZA aparece com um coral todo feminino dentro do que parece ser uma igreja. Nesta cena, ela canta com todas as mulheres em uma única voz e acreditamos que essa parte dispense qualquer explicação. União, força e luta: 3 palavras que acompanham a mensagem que IZA vem passando desde o início. A igreja como cenário traz a presença da fé, como diz a letra “…deixo minha fé guiar, sei que um dia chego lá…”, e as personagens citadas anteriormente chegam nesse momento na igreja para assistirem IZA e o coral de mulheres cantando em uníssono.
