- A celebration of the life of George Farmer, the first ever professional footballer on Merseyside - and grave re-dedication - by Everton FC Heritage Society.
Farmers resting place was previously unmarked, but his magnificent story is being brought to light thanks to the work of EFCHS member Jamie Yates.
Attended by Heritage Society members; Barry Horne and Ian Snodin representing Everton FC; many direct descendants of George Farmer; the Deputy Mayor of Oswestry - Farmers birthplace, plus fans of the club.
Service led by Rev. Henry Corbett, Chaplain to Everton FC.
Farmers' life was researched and the event organised by Jamie Yates of Everton FC Heritage Society.
There will be highlights from the days events coming soon, as well as a documentary and written publication too.

Brilliant stuff Jamie and all involved in this wonderful rededication. The Everton Heritage Society constantly gives us blues something to be proud of. I think I must have been born to be a blue, because my Great Grandfather on my fathers side was Richard Edwards who was from Oswestry - perhaps he saw George play!
