Best player we’ve had in the premier league era. Every time he got running with the ball down that right wing the whole of Goodison got on their feet.

Going to miss those obstructed view seats. Sought-after for many Evertonians and often the most expensive seats (after the really pricey ones that faced away from the pitch).

Most exciting player I've seen play for Everton. That was some side with Speed on the opposite wing, Joe Parkinson in midfield, and Dunc upfront. I think we were only a striker in the ilk of Ferdinand or Collymore away from challenging for the league. No disrespect to Diamond, but we needed an out-and-out goal scorer to compliment Dunc.

Great video. The only thing missing for me was when and why were the half moons put in behind both goals. I suspect it was done to facilitate the World Cup at the old lady. Great if anyone could give some info. COYB

Have to stop reading these comments, otherwise I'll be in tears all night. I loved Goodison. And Everton of course. 1962/63 season was my inaugural season. I was 9.

I just wished they had showed Alan Ball's goal against Liverpool in that famous 5th round F.A. cup game. That was a night that still gives me goosebumps thinking about it. I'm 71.

I can't explain the feeling us Evertonians get when we walk into Goodison. I don't get there as often as I'd like but it feels me with pride and passion for my love of Everton. From a boy of 9 in 66 to the last time I visited aged 67. Once a blue always a blue. Nil satis nisi optimum

My first game was in 1971 when we played Southampton and won 8 - 0! Experienced the Joy through the eighties - even went to Rotterdam for the final. God has the journey been largely painful ever since but once a blue!

its a shame so many teams had to leave these old grounds, they have so much history, character & atmosphere that the new grounds rarely have.

He was a very fine player, an unsung hero during the Ball Harvey Kendal era.

Going into St Lukes upstairs is by far and away the most enjoyable element of going to the match these days. Going back in time and escaping the reality on the pitch.

Behind Bren's stall upstairs at St Lukes, there is a replica (I presume) red Big Nev ECWC Jersey. 1. How much are they? 2. Does anyone know what happened to the original Nev wore?

Amazing to see the mention of Fred Geary in the match notes against Sunderland. Fred was my Grandma's cousin and she used to tell me about her 'famous footballing' cousin all the time, as I was a keen footballer from an early age (I'm now 54). I have carried on the tradition, keeping Fred's name alive, by telling my kids about him and everything he achieved. I have recently built a bar in my garden (mainly displaying PNE items), but there is still place for a framed picture of a caricature postcard and photo of Fred on the wall, which visitors always comment on. Keep up the good work and a very interesting watch.

Brilliant stuff Jamie and all involved in this wonderful rededication. The Everton Heritage Society constantly gives us blues something to be proud of. I think I must have been born to be a blue, because my Great Grandfather on my fathers side was Richard Edwards who was from Oswestry - perhaps he saw George play!

John Hurst, wonderfully versatile footballer, turned successfully from centre-forward to centre-half/midfielder. He was an integral part of Everton's League Championship winning team 1969-70.

When anyone seeks to evaluate the 1960s Football era, I always remember the comments of the Chairman of the FA and Wolverhampton Mr John Ireland after Everton had beaten Wolves 4-0 at Goodison Park in January 1969. He described this Everton team as the best in the Post War period. I was lucky to see most home and a few away games in the 69-70 season. Sadly the team peaked that year and 2 fateful cup defeats in 1971 destroyed its confidence and led to a couple of poor seasons until 74-75. the current plight of the team is a tragedy for the fans today.

Been an Everton supporter since 1968, I have seen many great games and good times at Goodison Park, especially the mid 80s but now this great old club is going through bad times both on and off the field, we need change and so I can't wait until we start a new chapter at our new ground at Bramley Moore Dock. COYB
