Who in their right mind would say Gatlinburg is a place to visit but not to live in? Well let me put it this way-- I would love to “visit” Gatlinburg for the rest of my entire life if I could afford it. I go there because I would love to live there. Because the fact that the cost of living is so ridiculous, you pert near have to be a millionaire to do so. Why I live where I do is because I can’t afford to live in Gatlinburg. I just go there for vacations.
Our first trip to East Tennessee was to Gatlinburg to look at land for sale. Didn’t take us long to decide it was too touristy to live there and have to deal with traffic daily. It is an amazing place to visit for the day/weekend etc. Great video! It’s amazing to see all the cabin lights dotting the hillsides once it turns dark in Gatlinburg
Hmm - very few. We have some friends that live full time just off the spur in Gatlinburg and they are not involved in tourism trades. So, they do exist, but they are more the exception than the rule.
It seems a lot of places in Tennessee are tourist attractions. Any nice places that are not affected by seasonal tourism... or tourism at all? I just want a nice neighborhood without all the drama.
Knoxville, Morristown, Oak Ridge, Maryville, Halls, Powell, Jefferson City, Athens, Sweetwater, Lenoir City, Maryville could all be good options for you.
Nope, Not feel'N ya. So you're telling me there's things to do all year long & it's beautiful BUT Don't live here? Orlando , Miami , Vail Colorado , etc All resort towns That people would die to live in. I do agree that if you have a cabin there You have to make a decision whether you want the money or the lifestyle.
Why would you tell people to not live in Gatlinburg? Are you afraid they are going to end up dipping into your wallet by taking up property you cannot rent out for your own gain? People have the right to go where they wish without you trying to make them think differently. You also failed to show homes and schools in the area other than rental property
Yes I’m crazy and want to live there
Thank you
you're welcome!

Driving tours are the best.
Videos would be so much better without music. It’s so distracting. Thank you for the informative video.
Very informative! Does anybody live their full time who is not involved in the tourist trade?
